    I'll say this. Unlike a certain other tech startup, Blaze didn't let anything get in their way. No blaming the pandemic or a chip shortage. They delivered systems and games. Not excuses.

      Blaze did good, they didn't make up stories and pay lip service, they actually released products. Yay blaze!

      ...but it's not just about releasing products without moaning, it's about quality control and customer service. These are pretty lacking.

      Before you do s video on UA-cam plz do some research...
      What you telling me has already been announced earlier this month...
      I find developers strange coz like EA they released EA Replay for the dead on arrival PSP and nothing else ???? ??? ????
      If EA released EA replay on all current gen consoles then just imagine how much profit EA would of made already but they deliberately holding the games back from making em a massive profit...
      My example isn't just about EA but all the developers who is deliberately holding Classic masterpiece games back 😮

    I bought the EXP only two months ago an decided I also want to play the games on a larger display with a dedicated controller. When Blaze announced the 2024 roadmap and it showed several hardware releases, I was hoping for a VS refresh as I wasn't a fan of the aesthetics of the original VS. I am happy with the VS-R and plan to preorder it. With the lowered price and Tomb Raider pack-in, it' a great value prop for me.
    I look forward to the Thalamus collection. I prefer the older computer games than anything else. I'm not too excited by PlayStation nor Sega console games as I have the consoles ready to play. I'd love to see a collection or two of the older PC shareware titles (Commander Keen, Jazz Jackrabbit etc.) and more vintage computer games (Wizardry and Ultima games would be cool). But that's just me.

    Hopefully the EXP-R will have addressed all the OG EXP's issues (Poor Battery Life, Light Bleed, Quiet Sound). The cool new colour scheme is a bonus :-) Keep up the awesome work!

      I personally prefer the Super Pocket...it's cheaper, battery life is better, it's smaller and more portable, and the display seems brighter and more vibrant to me. The only complaints that I have about it is that the sound is a little TOO loud and the shoulder buttons are poorly placed...

    Armalyte is a legitimately solid C64 shump, and Creatures is one of the most iconic games released for the C64

    These new iterations of the hardware aren't functionally different from the existing hardware so they don't obsolete anything. It's not like they've updated it with a more powerful processor or new capabilities. They're seemingly going in the other direction by removing the HDMI output but it's pretty typical for game hardware to remove lesser used feature to help bring the price down. They probably did that more to push the VS system, though.

    • @bigbabatunde1218
      @bigbabatunde1218 2 місяці тому +1

      Depends on what you think obsolete means. Obsolete as in production and marketing as they'll be concentrating on producing and marketing the new R versions.

  • @cryptocoffee13

    I like that Evercade/Blaze has new games and hardware coming. I think they really should put out a new controller, a wireless one and or a wired one. An arcade stick would also be a welcomed addition.

  • @bigbabatunde1218

    A 3Do collection? At least that would be a curious thing indeed. Amiga 32 would be of interest too. Jaguar and ZX Spectrum collections also. You can forget any Sega collections or Game Gear collections so they need to go the other way down the rabbit hole of obscurity but they'll probably play it safe with more C 64 and Piko collections, maybe more one offs like Full Void.

      @bigbabatunde1218 2 місяці тому

      It gets manufactured in China like most things. The UK has no tech manufacturing sectors anymore. Dyson even moved production to the far east years ago but still wants big money for their products despite a fall in quality.

      It's only an idea as it's the far eastern component suppliers and manufacturers that'll guide them on what western companies can and can't have for the market price point they're willing to pay.

      I wish, but the few 3DO games that I've tried on my hacked Evercades have run slow with the cores that are available...they'd either need to develop an optimized core or make the games run natively on the Evercade hardware.

    You can use a third party controllor for the analogue stick controls for the evercade tomb raider collection. I'm very excited and happy about it 😊. I don't have the handheld or the console of evercade yet. So I'll get both for the exp-r systems. I'll get the tomb raider bundle for either the handheld or the console but either way I'll get both. Plus I'm about to soon start collecting up the evercade games.

    How is the EXP obsolete? It'll play all the same games as the EXP-R. If anything, with the mini-HDMI out and Capcom games built in it does more than the EXP-R, hardly obsolete.

    • @bigbabatunde1218

      What it means is that Blaze will be pushing the new R models and withdrawing the standard Vs and E X P models. They've already had track record in doing the same tactic when the E X P came out as they withdrew the original handheld from being available.

  • @CasperEgas

    Just ignore all the extra hardware. It doesn't make people get more excited if they announce more though.
    Giving a cartridge a 'spin'?
    Agree that a 3DO collection would be cool. Mega cd games would be even better.
    The Tomb Raider collection would have been great, but it is a bit redundant now that the remastered collection has just been released.

      Have you looked into the Super Pocket? I like it better personally...it's cheaper, the Taito model has great built-in games, the battery life is better, it's smaller and more portable, the buttons feel more comfortable to me (apart from the shoulder buttons, the placement of those sucks), the display looks brighter and more vibrant, and the sound is louder.

    There were a few good ones (like the System 3 games), but otherwise most British micro computer games, was very mediocre, even back then.
    When it came to European games, the German's made some pretty impressive platformers and shmups, for the C64.

    Definitely NOT too soon for a price drop on the systems, it's NEVER too soon for a price drop...also I've been bugging them to make higher capacity carts for $5 more for over a year and even though I'm not a big Tomb Raider fan since it's a pack-in title and I've been wanting a second VS for a different room and so that I can keep my old one hacked and my new one with stock firmware, so I'll be getting it. Also the new EXP was necessary because the licensing for the Capcom games built into the original version ran out...anyway, I'd LOVE a 3DO collection but from the testing that I've done on my hacked Evercades the 3DO emulation core runs slow on it so they'd either have to optimize core somehow or make the games run natively on Evercade. Also I hear that the Creatures games and Hawkeye are REALLY good and I'm looking forward to trying them...
