- He may be in his 60s, but Jimmy Attard is absolutely living out a dream a whole lot of us had as kids. Attard has spent decades transforming the basement of his Dearborn home into an epic slot car racing track, and you really need to see it to believe it.
That's some true craftsmanship and dedication 👏
FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
This layout should be in a museum for the world to see. Makes that Lionel train layout in the 'basement' of the Detroit Historical Museum look toyish by comparison. Jimmy's attention to detail is incredible, and the way he goes about updating and adding to his layout is remarkable.
Loved slot cars as a kid. Must be a motor city thing. Lol
Great Job Jimmy!!! You’re the best!
Careful. The cars are addictive. I started 2 Christmas’s ago with a little set my wife bought me. Now I’m 100 cars in and have a huge layout of track. It really helped get through the covid lockdowns. But be carful of the cars. So cool and detailed. It just goes on forever.
What scale do you have, my friend? At 51, I just got back in myself after pulling my 83 Christmas tyco track out of my parents basement.
After setting that track up to play with my grandson and he loved it (6years old). I was hooked and went and got a carrera 132 digital and it's like crack cocaine.
Back and forth to my lhs to get more track, cars and accessories.
@@PageCrowes i run 1/32 scale - all SCX track I picked up cheap on eBay, i scaled it back recently to a much faster open “L” shaped oval now. Just high banked curves, straits and speed! My NSR and Slot It cars are fastest, but I love my RevoSlots, Carreras and Scalextrics too! I had It bad for a while, now I just use it to relax, get lost in the rhythm and pace of it. It gets very Zen for me, clears my mind. You are lucky to have a grandson, it must be really fun for you guys. My track is packed with all the cool vintage toys and action figures I’ve collected over the years. A six year old’s head would explode over here. 😊 happy racing!
@@seanmahoney2755 Hey thanks for replying my friend. I love all this race track stuff and everything that goes with it. Yeah the ho track kept my grandson Jaxsons attention the entire time which is hard to do. He hasn't seen the Carrera 132 go yet. That will be soon. It's almost setup. I have big 4,15 and 3,30 banks on that one like you for speed. Im more of a speedway type. I don't like all that spaghetti.
that is absolutely the coolest thing i have ever saw
Wonderful work. Amazing. Thank you for you talent and determination.
Super cool bud👍✌
Truly awesome.
Omg, awesome
😳 HOLY 💩 that’s freaking amazing !! 👍🏾 Great job !

That is mind blowing!
That's pure Michigan.
The guy does a great job on recycling.
Wow. love it
Great job
Sharp 👍🏽👍🏽
I had to tilt my phone.
I'm very impressed!
I’m 72 and I wish I was his next door neighbor.
Can anybody stop by ? This is amazing
Love it
Track lights at night would complete it
Awesome !
So cool
this is great stuff! Any videos of the cars racing? This also screams for an in car micro-camera video!
Wish i had the money to do that
Like Jimmy said, you need only 300 bucks.
Dope!
Great track, thanks for sharing. I think there's a mistake on the 1,050 ft length of the track - that would be twice the length of the longest known permanent track... Maybe 150 ft? How many lanes?
Needs a model house with scale replica of track in minature. I dunno,
I’m calling bs on the 300, just the paint and resin and chalk etc has to be more than that. But amazing feat none the less.
more like $3,000 + the TCR track in not cheap
@@paulfarley0078 it’s a conspiracy to keep the wife happy, for sure🤣
Access to free material or surplus helps
I know that I'm late to the party, but Jimmy if you read this, I want to be your best friend.
Fantastic model HO scale?
I can't believe it! A White non Muslim is still living in Dearborn? Incredible!
