Coric is 24, he had his breakthrough years ago when he beat andy murray in one of the masters 1000 when he was 16. Sad to see his career still hasnt pop ogg
nah he just knows that if he was playing his best in those big matches that he lost especially in Indian wells 2018 for example... He would have completely destroyed them.
I know there were others here, but dang Fed and Djokovic just seem so much more welcoming to their opponents after losses. Murray isn't bad, but I think Rafa just can't hide the disappointment as well
Fed normally doesn’t handle it well either. Sometimes he’ll force himself to smile a little bit tho and give the opponent props. But nadal yeah, he just scowls and gives a super quick, cold dap up with a nod and gets out of there as quickly as possible😂
@Allopecia lol acknowledged. I think even when they're injured and lose there's a difference as well. Generally, unless the other 3 are disrespected by the opp in loss, it's pretty standard
He’s also got 2 ATP Nitto titles, but no Grand Slams. But he did come close at the USO20 against Thiem. Zverev was 2 sets up, and then went downhill from there.
Federer losing to Donskoy was probably a blessing in disguise: If he'd gone deep in Dubai he may well not have won the Sunshine Double a few weeks later
Novak, the best...he always gives a great hand , smiles, and admits superiority of the opponent... as i said ..a great man , a legend... a great Serbian Man
I'd be interested to see the results AFTER these upsets. My guess is after the emotional high of beating a top player most of these guys lost their next match.
I don't think so. I mean it was a shocking result but Djokovic only needed to get to the 2nd round so he didn't give a crap about that match and tanked it.
At the time, when Nadal was doing good at Wimbledon, consistently, it was. However, TennisTV can't do anything with it because the GS are part of the ITF.
Each grand slam its like 5 upsets. Like Pella - Cilic 2018 wim, Mahut - cecchinato RG 2019, berankis - shapovalov wim 2019. This just what I remember without looking up.
Fed losing to Ramos (a clay court player) in Shanghai (the fastest court on tour) is a very disappointing result. It proves that anything is possible anywhere.
Taro Daniel, vesely, they do this from time to time the problem is they do it in that specific day woke up on the right side of the bed i guess. Next day you will wonder what happened as they are losing to the Number 100 and playing so bad

@simon Eds well... Debatable. I dont think he played super poor, but even Rafa said he let that one slide and was super angry with his play and with himself afterwards that he didnt win. And he s not the kinda guy to state to the press that he played poor and thus let a match slip that he should have won
@simon Eds yes - most of the times a great day for one player forces a bad day for the other. But still, Nadal wouldnt be as frustrated if he was just blown out of that stadium. Shapo played great! But Rafa could have also played better unter the circumstances
Nole after losing: „not too bad” showing respect to opponent. Rafa after losing: quick handshake and pat, leaving court ASAP, acting like a child and deluded loser. And Rafa won sportsmanship award for what? Don’t get me wrong he’s a great player probably kind person too. But not sportsmanship enough.
I remember Nadal waiting for Djokovic after the Wimby SF loss. Don't think Djokovic does anything like that. Don't overdo the sportsmanship part Molefarm. While I don't hate Djokovic, fans like you degrade his reputation too. Sometimes a player may be disappointed by the way he choked the match, like Nadal choked against Shapo, doesn't mean you deride him.
Honestly djokovic losing in IW 2018 was a result of his ongoing elbow injury and why was Rafa playing so bad in Basel 2014… so defensive for no reason really… seemed odd
