I find it so interesting how much Agassi really is the father of modern tennis! His replays look just like current players just lower resolution
Absolutely right! I do think timing of technology plays a small role. He embraced the ground stroke game with the bigger, lighter rackets and he and his coaches put a lot of priority in fitness. Sounds like 2024 to me! 😂
Lendl is the father of modern tennis (power baseline). First composite rocket, modern training regime.
@@e1977k True. But I think he was talking about the archetype for tennis players today in terms of both physical fitness, tactics, and maximizing strengths while minimizing weaknesses. Agassi was the first baseliner with dominating ground strokes off both wings. He was the first to use the return of serve as a weapon to win the point. He also had a level of precision and control that allowed him to hit passing shots against the best volleyers. These are all attributes that are common now in all of the top players. The only thing that has advanced is speed and defense skills (which Agassi lacked).
Agassi and Courier.
haha 0:55 is iconic
That sure is cheeky putting that 'shot' in the highlights.
Close to my list.
10- Carlos Alcaraz
9- Robin Soderling
8- Novak Djokovic
7- James Blake
6- Andre Agassi
5- Rafael Nadal
4- Fernando Gonzalez
3- Pete Sampras
2- Juan Martin Del Potro
1- Roger Federer
Wow, very entertaining. Great comments too. Like the man says, more videos with this type of comparison would be great.
Pretty accurate to be honest, (Federer Goat)😂😂
Del Potros forehand will eat Federers forehand
@@kenanderkroate for me it s second (flat, speed, winner it s first) because of the variety
Imagine if del potro never gegen injured 30+ Grand Slam he beat also Djokovic back to back in the olympics
@@kenanderkroate i love that what if, and what do you think about nalbandian but this time consistent
@@agus08lif nalbandian were 40gs good, ne would win 40 gs

That’s a great order tbh…. I’d honestly put Pistol at #3 because he had more variety . And attacking wise there is no better shot in tennis history than Roger’s Forhand in his prime .
Federer at his peak was INSANE. I donlt think people realise what it was. If today he hasn’t won 30 grand slams is because of his backhand.
bro awesome video!!! can u do more like this???
People confuse " power " with best forehand, ( dropshot, lob, smash, spin, plate, angle) great ranking, but for me number one is Nadal in clay and Federer in hard.
Söderling honestly deserves a spot, he was absolutely unreal with the forehand between 2009-2011-very, very few players have ever been able to hit that heavy. When he was in form, he could smack winners against Nadal and Federer, on clay, from behind the baseline. Mad power.
the crazy thing about Delpo's forehand rockets is that they feel like they come out of nowhere. Opponents just feeling out the rally and then suddenly it just blitzes them. Pity it also took his wrist.
I like Delo's fh the most. But he had problems with left wrist, not right. It hurt his backhand, not forehand.
By the end of his career Alcaraz will be ranked higher , Federer’s forehand is the best thing that happened to tennis.
Missing Sinner, incredible power, top spin, and passing but great video !
Federer number 1⃣..
Agassi..
Nadal...
Djokovic..
Sampras..
Still I like all these top 10 players Forehands list...👍🏻
They are all lethal and cool... 💥 👍🏻..
Great list amigos.. 😎
☀️🌕🐺😸😎
Hopefully Sinner can make this list some day. Seems to be on his way.
lol tbh the forehand at the umpires throat felt personal. Also I would Sampras above del potro and Gonzalez also
Sinner should be on here imo
Surprised to see shots from Federer after his prime. Some sick forehands at Wimbledon 2006 vs Ancic and Berdych were missing for example. But then again, you could probably make a video for a couple hours straight with amazing forehands from Federer and Nadal.
Those forehands vs Ancic are sick! No Wimbledon shots in this compilation for copyright reason

Thumbnail should be, Who has the 2nd - 10th best forehand in tennis?
I would put delpo's forehand as the 2nd best of all time..
Great video but you should have put James Blake in this ! A similar forehand as Gonzales in many ways. Sadly often forgotten.
I agree. It's because he didn't accomplish major titles. His overall game was streaky and inconsistent, and he struggled with fitness and endurance throughout his career. But his forehand is definitely one of the best there has ever been.
@@captainbryce1 absolutely!
Missing some Becker verdasco soderling ones I guess but I agree that Alcaraz s forehand is already up there with the best of all time
Good list. You could argue Soderling, Sinner, Verdasco could be on the list, but can’t have everyone. If I had to have one though it would be Delpo’s.
Nadal has easily the best forehand.... No one even comes close... If you doubt it, just look at the number of his gs and his main weapon....
Nadals serve is no where near the top, his bh is also not even among the best 20 ... So his fh has to be the best to make up for his shortcomings in other areas....
I am not a Novak fan, but he belongs higher up in the list. He racked up so many slams in the company of two of the greatest players ever to play tennis.
I'd have put him in Alcaraz's slot. Novak's FH was hella wonky his first 4-5 years on tour.
He doesn't belong in the list at all, there are plenty of better forehands than his that are not listed here. The fact that he won as much as he did doesn't mean his forehand is better than some other guy's(who has lesser other qualities and therefore lesser career results).
@@LuLu-nw6bi You obviously don't know a whole lot about tennis. The Djokovic forehand doesn't belong on the list?? You are crazy.
It's about forehands, not grand slams.
Kyrigos and sinner should be on this list.
Juan Carlos Ferrero had great forehand.
1.Nadal
2.Fernando Gonzalez
3.Del Potro
4.Federer
5.Djokovic
6. James Blake
7. Alcaraz
8. Igor Andreev
9. Verdasco
10. Pete Sampras
Djokovic 😂😂
@Raz Ols Don't forget Soderling's forehand.
My fellow Swede! Had a really powerful forehand but too big of a swing to succeed on grass
@@RazOls Soderling had a overpowered and wide forehand, taking less energy than Gonzalez's forehand. The Swedish loves indoor carpet, extremely fast courts. He's one of the most powerful players in history.
@@germinho_948 tf are "tennisman"
I agree to most of them but I don't consider d
Del Potro's forehand on top 5. He only generates an insane power because of his height advantage. He's great on hitting high ball but the low ones, not so much. If you're ranking the most powerful forehand then he's up there but not top 5 best forehand in tennis
What about Courier ? Safin ? Kuerten ?
missing Sinner, David Nalbandian and Rublev.
I'd put djokovic also higher. Really consistent and powerful enough most of the time and sometimes blistering too..just gets underrated because of his backhand..improved variety on that forehand in recent years
Roger Federer the best FOREVER 💕
1. Del Potro
2. Federer
3. Nadal
Greatest doesn't mean only powerful. Otherwise delpo and Gonzalez would've topped this list.
If every aspect is considered Federer is indeed the best with Nadal with pistol Pete there as well
yeah he right, power its just power, need variation, angle, dropshop etc
@@spideyocd If Federer could keep his game and just get their forehand, he'd be a much better player. People are always fooled by this stuff. Federer is not a top-10 server, nor is he a top-2 fh. He just is great in a lot of different ways.
Monfils deserve to be there 😊
Alcaraz should be higher up, Sinner should also be there
0:57
They did Novak dirty 🤣
why I don't see gasquet's forehand on this list
Why trying to squeeze Djokovic into the top 10, when everyone who knows tennis knows there are too many forehands better than his that are not in this list(Courier, Moya, Soderling, Verdasco... )
noeither of those players you mention has a better and complete forehand than djokovic, Novak has a very balance forehand more complete than only make winners like all players you mention
@@Logan00710 Yes, hitting more winners means worse forehand. 😂😂😂😂😂
Ivan Lendl. Period.
Nadal has the best forehand of all time
Lol. Just no
@@initialize21just yes
the only obvious thing for me is del potro/ nadal / federer being in the top 3. I mean just through the clips it’s obvious 🤷♂️
Thanks for not putting Gonzalez at number 1
Djokovic out, Sinner in
Why did you put Djokovic's disqualification? How does that concern his forehand?
Well he hit her with his forehand didn't he? Immaculate precision 🎾

I think alcaraz deserves thé rank and maybe better in thé future imo

@@LuLu-nw6bi its your opinion not me 🤷🙄
But in fact its to early to put him in a top 10 in générale he just start
But yes in thé future i think he will be in most if all is good
@@victorito07 Well, it would be odd if your opinion is in my comment, wouldn't it? 😄 As for his forehand, it's very good but not as good as the very best. Probably the best today, after Nadal.
@@LuLu-nw6bi its your opinion for me his forehand belong with thé very best 😅😅 not thé best yet but its too early and unfair too compare with legendary player wouldn’it 😅😅
we will see in thé future thé possible improvement
And no its not odd at all because this discussion show différent opinion whitch is good not odd
To me González is above Del Potro's, and at N4. Federer-Nadal-Sampras of course.
Disagree Nadal has best forehand
There’s no way Djok’s is below Alcaraz. The young man needs time to prove the prowess of his forehand. Fed’s 1 is right, no one makes it look as beautiful/effortless as he does.
Yea I have no idea why this guy put Alcaraz at #7 and Djokovic at #10. Djokovic destroyed Alcaraz forehand to forehand at the ATP Finals. Even at RG and Cincy he was getting outdueled in those exchanges. Gonzalez is also too high. Where is Courier?
anyone know that alcaraz forehands is one of thé best and not because of thé powerfulness
But he will improve better in thé future
Why thé match in atp finals he was in not a good form at this Time and cincy finals in thé First set and start of thé second set he was better
Then djoko take thé match physically
I dont see thé link with the best forehand and just two matchs completly different
@@victorito07 Alcaraz's forehand does not belong in the top 10. He's way too erratic and can be rushed on that side. He does not have a better forehand than Novak. Because it looks nice does not make it great.
@@jacksongreene3687 you know hé is just 20 and started his Carreer if will take time to put him in a top 10
But that doestn change that hé has thé best forehand on thé tour or one of thé best and not just for thé power
For me alcaraz havé better than nole in some aspects but nole havé better carreer for now
Its m’y opinion dont cry
And says alcaraz forehand is not great well stop thé 💉💉😂😂
@@victorito07 He doesn't have the best forehand on tour. Djokovic and Nadal's forehands are both better. Ruud's is better on clay as well. Novak can destroy players with just his forehand and did just that at Australian Open last year, blowing them off the court. Let Alcaraz grow and improve before giving him praise he doesn't deserve yet.
Federer forehand got way worse after 2006 honestly, by the later portion of his career it wasn’t even that great of a shot at all. Shouldn’t be that high.
Nah, Delpo #1.
Thiem ??
Rogers fh is was best
Too soon for Alcaraz to be in any top10.
HOW ARE YOU NOT PUTTING BERRETTINI ON THIS LIST?! He has the greatest forehand ever in my opinion tied with Rafa, roger and del po
Again your thinking only about the power. Federers power weakened after his prime but other aspects of his forehand didn't.
I think Gonzalez could do more with his forehand than berretini
You know you're inescapably deep in Federer bias when you put his forehand above Nadal's. Greatest forehand of all time
Huh? Fed's is undeniably better than Claydal's
Put a 90's racket in Nadal's hands and he wouldn't touch Fed with the same racket. Without poly strings and 100 sq in rackets with a huge sweet spot, Nadal (and Djokovic) would be far less effective.
The list is pretty good, but Alcaraz doesn’t belong on it, not yet at least. Players like Rublev, Berrettini, and especially Sinner can compete with and even surpass Carlos’ forehand
Backhand probably but surpass Carlos forehand not not at all sorry Carlos belong in his list not rublev berrtenini or sinner
And sinner will belong in the best backand right now
But for now alcaraz havé one of the best forehand on tour
I watch him play since he is 17 his forehand is deadly and ridiculous dont Forget that
Federer obviously. If Claydal's was the best, he'd have a better record on non-clay surfaces. Unfortunately for Claydal his forehand loses potency on faster surfaces
He has more USO than Djokovic the hard court specialist 😂
Equal @@bengray5013
The Claydal that stopped Fed's streak of Wimbledon wins and his Open era grass court record win streak? Claydal that was the only person to beat Fed in a AO final? Claydal that was the only person to ever beat Novak in multiple hard court slam finals? Claydal that is the youngest person to achieve the career grand slam in the Open era? That Claydal right? Nah, can't be.
@@ashleythomas4112the Claydal that lost virtually every match to grandpa Federer from 2014 onwards. Lmao
@@initialize21 Claydal that lost most of those matches in one year (2017) on hardcourt when Fed played the best tennis he had played in many years, but Fed didn't dare play clay that year. Claydal that still ended up with an 8-6 overall outdoor hardcourt (and 3-1 at hardcourt slams) h2h lead over Fed at the end of their careers despite Fed being a better hardcourt player lol.
The best forehand is easily Delpo or Gonzalez. The other guys aren't close.
In all fairness the header should read in male Tennis history.
Not really. No WTA forehand would even scratch the surface of the top 500 ATP forehands
Tatjana Maria‘s forehand is as ugly as lethal, hands down
Karatsev was robbed here
Obviously Roger is #1 but putting Alcaraz in the top 10 after only a few years is ridiculous. I could make an argument that Sinner has a better FH than Alcaraz.. And I wouldn't say Alcaraz's FH is better than Jim Courier's. Actually - I wouldn't even say it's as good as Steffi Graf's but I guess SHE didn't qualify for this list. 🤣 A few years ago I saw a list of best FH in TENNIS - gender neutral - history and LMAO because it was all men - with Steffi at #3...although she clearly belongs at #2. Sorry Rafa.
Dude are you out of your mind?? You don't say any argument. Alcaraz can easily be in any list, he has obtained crazy titles with less than 20 years old, and big part of that success is thanks to his forehand. Saying that thing about Steffi Grass is absolutely insane, put prime Steffi and Alcaraz in a court and allow them to use only forehand and Alcaraz wins 6-0 6-0.
@@josemujica3173😂😂😂 some people know nothing about tennis alcaraz not a good forehand

Borg doesn't count, son. wooden racquet era. sucked with modern rackets
Especially Wilander 😄
