Kirklees Light Railway - Fairbourne in the Hills - 11/09/16

Hey all,
Probably one of the best galas I have ever visited was held by the KLR with a range of locomotives, activities such a short cab rides on 'Sherpa' on a demonstration track in the yard/ museaum, cavalcades, double headers and triple headers alongside unique diesel locos.
The Fairbourne Railway started off as a 15" gauge line but was converted into a 12" gauge due to weight restrictions on some parts of the route. The 3 surviving original locos were all attending the gala and formed the only triple header of the day. These locos were Count Louis, Sian and Katie. The attendant representing the current 12" gauge line was Sherpa who was in steam in the yard giving short cab rides. The staff were friendly and overall, the gala was a resounding success, lots of visitors, plenty if action and many other interesting activities.
I would definatly visit one of this railways awesome galas whether its a mini gala or a large gala, you would have a great time.

Great video Tom! Loved the double heading locos forgot what their names were! The diesel doing what looked like a push pull service looked nice too! Keep up the good work :)
