Keighley and Worth Valley Railway - Autumn Steam Spectacular - 08/10/16
Hey all,
I know this was quite a while ago but schoolwork has been getting in the way.
This was a great event even though the trains ran late due to a slightly ambitious timetable.
Loads of locos were in action and there was plenty of double headers and even a non stop service.
'Sir Keith Park' was the main visitor at the event and had to be used only in double headers and on the Friday, took 66 minutes to travel along a 25-30 minute line.
Hope you enjoyed.

The Autumn Steam Gala at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway brought plenty of visitors and was a resounding success with a piece of history been made. Britomart, a 1ft 11" gauge loco made a visit from the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales and became the first steam loco to travel through the original George Stevenson tunnel in its 171 year existence. The tunnel was originally built for horse drawn car...

The Fairbourne Railway started off as a 15" gauge line but was converted into a 12" gauge due to weight restrictions o...

Wensleydale Railway - Diesel Gala - 16/07/16
Переглядів 1,1 тис.8 років тому
Wensleydale Railways diesel gala certainly was a big hit for photographers such as me. There were 5 guests for the gala, one of which failed ( Class 56 ) with brake failure ) and another one which I didn't see because we were switching location. There are many crossings on the line which gave great vantage points. Hope you all enjoyed. Next video might not be for a few weeks due to Junior Voule...

Indeed it is
Looks like they are getting ready. Great video man
Nice video.
This is a great vid! Great looking units. Sounds awesome I'm subbing up and look forward to seeing more
Great video
Excellent work. Keep up the good work.
Excellent footage Tom! 7822 imo was the star of the gala! She sounded amazing when I went the day after you did! Also at the Haworth shed shots RailAdvent was there as well he was going to say hello for me but said you went soon after he built up confidence haha! Keep it up mate :)
Great video Tom. Are the shots at 3:30 taken from a public viewing area or lineside? Thanks, Michael.
It looks as though it's a viewing area there aren't any high vises to be seen and there's a bloody great fence keeping everyone from getting to the shed area :)
Yes, it is a viewing area, you go through the tunnel around the MPD and follow the ash track.
Nice video, subscribed
Thank you, means alot.
Great footage of an excellent gala. I was also there, in fact you can see me at 5.35 to 5.38 with the black top and union jack bandana passing the sheds at Grosmont, and then again at 16.02 to 16.04 passing New Bridge in the Thompson.Like I said, excellent footage. Keep it up.Mark
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed.
Awesome footage Tom. An off freight working with 2807 and 37264. Why was the 37 with 2807?
The 2800 had failed and it was been taken back to the MPD.
A good set of shots Tom. Love the chime whilst on 76084, good job we have her until March! The sun glint of 7822 at 13:21 was beautiful; a shame she wasn't facing north. Best Regards. Cameron
Yes, it certainly was and that chime is gorgeous I have to admit. Glad you enjoyed.
Brilliant shots Tom! Looks as though it was a brilliant gala! Liked the ones taken Grosmont shed! Can't wait to see 7822 at the KWVR gala this weekend :)
Thank you. What day are you there as I am there on the Saturday? Glad you enjoyed.
I'm there on the Sunday
Awesome, looked like it was about to open up there, that what I thought the smoke was.
Great video Tom- I live just up the road from the KLR so let me know next time your down!
Fantastic video memory of a wonderful event. We were there that day but not in shot. Many thanks for sharing.
Awesome video. Loved the 6 steam locomotives all working together :-)
Great video Tom! Loved the double heading locos forgot what their names were! The diesel doing what looked like a push pull service looked nice too! Keep up the good work :)
What a racket that must have been XD
ay it was, it was good though
You still up for the ELR steam gala? No fuss if not just asking :)
Are you sticking to shorter clips with rarer workings now then?
Nope, there just quicker to upload than everything else.
+Railway Central Ah right, fair enough. Are you going to York on the 10th?
nope. i cant. got football ;(
+Railway Central Shame
Ay. Where you off next? I've got Gilling on Saturday then more short NYMR clips.
Great clip Tom. I was worried for a minute: i thought 61264 had failed! I'm going down to see her and 80136 back in service tomorrow. All the best. Cameron
80136 failed on Tuesday
Great video, have liked and subscribed :)
Thank you very much.
+Railway Central,you're very welcome :)
;)
The shunting operations are interesting with that cute little locomotive and I must say that I think the blood and custard livery really suits the Mk2s.
can you subscribed to me please?
let me have a look at your channel first
An excellent video Tom! Superb to see this engine steam once more after so many years in overhaul. A glorious day all round for the DRPS. All the best. Cameron
Certainly was. She'll look better after shes been painted though!
The self styled 'man in charge' of diesel preservation in the UK, organised this. How dare a loco fail on the boss man?
I know? That loco will probably never get used for a gala.
Cracking video. Loved the sounds of the class 37's on a roll :-)
Thank you. They do sound lovely.
+Railway Central Which was your favourite locomotive?
I have to say I like the 56s but 37s are far superior to any other diesel locos.
+Railway Central Awesome. 56's with the scream but the 37's are the best of thrashing ☺
Defo. Love the 37s!
Nice video Tom, 56006 performed well on the Sunday.
Wish I was there to see her.
Excellent Tom! Pity you didn't get to see the 56 running! It was good when it was at the gala on the ELR! Keep it up :)
Thank you Dan. Enjoyed filming for this one as well. Wish I could of seen her on Saturday.
Very enjoyable video. See you in just over a week!
Thank you. See you then.
Super video! Keep up the good work
Thank you :)
Excellent Tom well done! I like the blood and custard live on the Mk 2s! Also liked the little shunter they have(the one with the single blue and white coach) :)
Hiya Dan. Thank you, they are very nice but I prefer the Mk 1s and that little 01 certainly is a great little loco. They have quite a few of them. Next 2 videos are all on the Wensleydales diesel gala over the weekend!
A nice video clip from Northallerton.
Thank you, appreciate your comment.
Fantastic video. Well done.
Thank you, hope you are okay.
I can see me!!!!!! great shot too!!!
Tom Noble right? Thank you for commenting.
It's honestly not a bad shot apart from the people at the start! You should've made it a pan shot that would've changed your mind! A Class 60 wouldn't make me move though XD! If it were a 56 I'd most definitely move for it :)
Couldn't pan as there we're people directly behind me. The Class 60 was great. Class 56 would be better. Will be seeing the convoy at Northallerton or Leeming Bar which has a 56 in arriving at the Wensleydale for their diesel gala on Thursday.
Fantastic video. Well done.
Thank you. Hope you are okay. Was hoping to see you there on Thursday.
Brilliant shots mate! Is it only the 8f rostered on these specials? Liked the arrival into York :)
Hi Dan. The 8F is the only rostered loco on it unless she breaks down which I'm hoping she does so we can have a Jube or maybe even the Duchess or Lizzie. I'm 90% certain I'll be down for Scotsman at the ELR so you'll have to show me some of the best spots along the line!
+Railway Central Aye, I'd be glad to as long as you go on the Sunday when I'm there :)
Yeah I'll try my best! We might end up i n a B&B the night yet. Do you know how to get to Burrs?
+Railway Central There's a new halt which is being built at Burrs which should be completed by the time the event comes round I hope! I've never been Burrs for shots before so I'll have a gander there :)
Yeah, I've heard about that Halt. People are debating whether it's a good thing or not because it going to ruin the photos and videos from there.
Cracking video there Tom! I'm planning on visiting the railway again in the Summer! Take it that Holywell Halt is a good place for shots! Also how did you get that last shot? :)
Thank you. You definitely should visit. Try and time it for one of their mini galas. Holywell Halt certainly is great and would be even better for me now I have my new tripod. The last shot was taken at Holywell Halt. There is a crossing at the foot of the platform. It is a great shot.
Smashing shots mate! Loved the 'Eric Treacy' one on the approach to Goathland as well as it departing there as well! Keep it up :)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed that one. Definitely my best heritage clip. Glad you enjoyed the one of it leaving also. I'll try my best to keep it up. Thank you for commenting. Tom
Nice footage especially the last clip at Goathland with the Black 5 on the Pullman. Was enjoying a meal on it in the Opal Cheers...Trevor.''.
Thank you. I particularly enjoyed getting that clip. Hope you enjoyed your meal! Thank you for commenting. Tom
We did thanks Tom.Nice Video from you....Trevor.''

Just had a look at your channel trailer. I hope you do enjoy my content, thank you for the sub!
Wait is Car no. 79 out of traffic or something? Great footage by the way.
Yeah, it failed with a tyre slip on Friday so they had to shunt stuff around. Thank you for commenting.
Nice Job...''
Thank you.
Great clips there, many thanks for sharing. (looks like Jo firing in the last clip) Alan
Hi Alan, many thanks, Jo who?
she has fired Leander before sometimes, well qualified and works on the E Lancs
oh right, ive met most footplate crewe but not her
Nice footage!
Ta
Don't you just love it when selfish idiots walk straight in front of your shots? Has happened to me a couple of times but never as bad as when Scotsman was going out of station in this.
Yeah, was very dissapointed.
Good video!
Thank you
Nice video Tom. Loved the final shot of 'Leander' departing out of Platform Three. I got 60009 there some years ago. Best Regards. Cameron
Thank you. I loved getting that shot apart from the fact that we got showered in soot!
