Your profit ratios are outrageous. It is a free market indeed, and ultimately the customer decides how much he is willing to pay for a product, granting it is of good quality. But a 1500% margin on your chocolate confections? I would pay for that if Jason Momoa ground the cacao beans with his thighs!

I’ve been very loudly told by the state of Oregon that we have “No Cottage Food Laws” but I can license my kitchen through “Domestic Kitchen” licensing for a $435 annual fee.

This video is great, I want to open a food trailer but i honestly rather have some money put up but I really don’t. So I was thinking about selling some dinner plates. I live in Wisconsin and I just want to sell some tacos and chicken wings. So I was wondering would I need license to sell some hot plates regarding those food items, if that makes sense.

thanks ! cottage food laws do not allow foods like dinners, to be sold from home these are considered potentially hazardous foods (if it is time and temp sensative they dont allow them

Question that I cant seem to find on the interwebs, say I would like to apply to just cook any type of food acceptable in the cottage food law, do you need a different llc or business per food? or can you apply to basically all the food groups available to you on the cottage food law list when you go to make a business. Basically asking if you have to be specific with making types of food. I can just picture making different things depending on holidays/supply/demand ya know? thanks sorry for the essay for a basic question

I know this is an older comment but just go online, put in your state and Cottage Food Laws. Here in Texas we don't need a "license" but there are certain foods that don't fall under the law. It has to do with the ingredients. I'm sure you can find plenty of goodies to make from home that fall under your State's Cottage Food Laws. Good luck in your new business venture!
