Please note: We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy.
Mint vid guys! Old Kingswood went better than anyone expected, A real credit to you guys! (and girl?)
Happy to help you guys out anytime, you're a sweet couple Mal and Wendy.
Woody has had the big surgery ya know..........
But that was to remove the spare head
Luckily, Woody didn't loose all the raw footage.
At least Al approves on your logo at 6:38
Found your channel from this video. Gonna binge on it tonight. Always happy to see more aussie gearheads. Zero chance for shitty content.
"Burnout Warehouse" now that's a name for a workshop!
Up next on the Skid Factory: We put a 5.9 Cummins in this Kia Rio.
YES PLEASE
8.5:1 compression. "they don't call me NA Yoda"
Gonna reel him back in like: ‘C’mon mate, you know you want a little bit of boost now, you’ve already got a fuel system that’ll feed 400hp on it’
procharger would be cool
@@Jonathan_Doe_ hahah. Only the first one's free. Like Bedford van man, but with turbos.
Its a Australian sleeper! It has a mattress in the back!
After All, with the Mattress in the Back it is a Shagging Wagon. Though - Chucking Laps in Hasting Street Noosa with 3 Sweaty Dudes in the Front seat of the car - the only thing you will pick up to Shag is a Fig or 2 (Steven Crowder reference for a FiG)
The wheel center cap snare & kick duet was just 👌🏼
Love seeing those Noosaville Streets and a survivor Kingswood...nostalgia plus
You don't need more power than that for a great relaxing cruiser.
Great build once again, loving to see the variation in the builds it is what keeps it interesting.
Ah Sunday evening, glass of red on the go, pizza in the oven and now the skid factory, my weekend is complete
Windors and Iron Lions; the best sounding ways to go nowhere!
In all seriousness though, 210rwkW is pretty damn stout for a basically stock 5L I recon. Nice work blokes!
Evan Boubouka solid cams and 1 million rpms make them sound even better (till you realise you just ran an 11s pass and spent 20k on a fragile engine)
On a yank Dyno that's easy 350hp too
Sounds good and wont break the speed limit. Win win in my books.
18:30 to see the face Al makes when he's Cummins
Direct intense eye contact
Al's come a long way from not even being able to utter the Iron Lion words :-)
So glad this story ain't over yet, you just know that low comp was done for some bolt on yoda-goods!
Great series. I love these older builds. This kingy is an absolute cruiser!
I love that the internet forgets that nearly 300hp is a hell of a lot of power.
The thought of apprentice mechanics all over the world using the word resplendent makes me smile. You're a legend Al.
Those wheels just look good on that old wagon.
Great build guys, excellent photography and score.
Nothing dodgy with three guys with a mattress in the back 😘
Thanks for sharing
Seeing All's happy face at the end makes me happy.
Love all the content and keep it up.
I know you boys love turbos, but I'd love to hear some blower whine coming from that Kinger
308 sound for life!
Needs more Flat Tops....
@@theskidfactory I got a bumper that fits a 64 ford cardinal they didn't make this car in the U S but they sold one in Europe and the U K don't remember the name. This bumper is brand new never on a car. If y'all have in buddies rebuilding one of these would love to see it go to someone building one of these.
Sitting here in quarantine and totally fogetting that I'm super behind on Skid Factory and the old Kinger!
great result - 281HP, great job guys
I love the note and idle of 304s
LOVE that Wagon. Best cars from a great era. We have Two HQ's and treasure them.
What a brilliant intro. Only aussies will get that properly.
Well done guys, another rippa
you will love the branding iron seatbelts
As a 70's kids from NZ, I can totally relate. My folks had an XA Falcon; during summer if the seat belt buckles didn't burn you then the vinyl seats usually did ☀️😆
4:56 Good reflexes on the hot oil change 👌
Pretty chill episode. It's good to see you getting to enjoy your hard work.
Nothing like a good cruise on a sunny day with your mates
That is one cool looking cruiser. I love the standard looking wheels with the tidy but slightly jaded exterior. I am jealous, the car, the weather the cruising.
Love how Al has been converted to calling it the Iron Lion now too 😂😂
Glad to see the Ferrous Feline finally finished
What a sweet old ride , Good job guy's .
This is my favourite car that you've done so far.
Great job, Hopefully it will be 280 hp for 20 years. Which is what was wanted. Gotta keep the knife wielder happy.
Big Lez references, awesome!
Lovely wagon! Adequate power, and tastefully and properly modified to handle the extra power. Sounds wicked too! Lovely understressed V8 noise. It'll be at home cruising the coast with some surfboards.
My dad had a HJ kingswood station wagon with a 202 red motor when i was 13 and it was in a immaculate condition
I agree with the Hoff!! The iron lion has a distinct soundtrack to the ears!!! And it's bloody mint!!👌👌👌 well done guy's!!!!
It’s cool recognising the roads you cruise on from when I lived there!!! Next time I’m local I’ll say hello! Your builds always look OEM. Attention to detail is on point. 👌👌👌🤤🤤🤤
A mild combo with about 330 hp at the crank. A spunky daily driver. impressive!!!
Bring on the Cummins patrol build😜
Great work! so nice when a project comes together and is “finished”. ;) looking forward to the future boost.
280hp at the tire on that combo is mint, well done boys. Will be a sweet cruiser
281? That's a really good respectable number for a 304 brothers! I was hoping to see 250 to be honest. To get 281 out of such a small displacement V8 is really really good. That'll get that wagon rolling out. 281 without ANY boost is crazy good! Just think of how it'll be when it gets 14 psi and is making close to 500...
280hp in a balanced, cammed 304 is nothing to laugh at. It's basically stock otherwise because I don't recall any headwork etc. being done.
Cummins 4WD for Alan coming?
I’m tipping its diesel something. Either another duramax or a Cummins
I made 320hp (with admittedly probably more torque) with basically the same 8.6:1 compression in a 355 stroker, the banana manifold being the suspected restriction so 280hp ain’t bad.
@@billgates3452 Anything above 50 HP per liter naturally aspirated is the Bee's Knees for pre LS V8s.
@@billgates3452 what cam?
@@VN-346 From memory I put in a Crane 286, which after getting it on the road realised it was probably a tad too big for my build. Sounded sick when it was hunting but was a pain with a button clutch and didn’t have punch until 3500rpm.
Finally the Cummins! Been waiting for this! Got a 24v 5.9 going into my 105 series! Will be good to see how you tackle it 🤙🤙
I'm amazed at how linear and smooth that powerband is, say what you will about the final number, but that was impressively linear
Just under 300 isnt bad for a relatively stock daily. Still makes all the right noises.
Damn, Thats now a sweet ride, 👍👍👍
My mate has a set of original B50 SIMMONS on his 300ZX, one of very few unmolested OG twin turbo TT (targa top) Z's in the country. Has never overheated and not a leak in sight. Value will just go up because so many have been modified or turned into race cars.
That's unreal, sounds real nice good ol holden, with a holden motor, awesome wags. Enjoyed the videos.
Bloody good stuff. Get another project on the run like this.
Really nice car, love how you kept the wheels looking factory. Nice work guys and thanks for sharing the journey with us. ps: if this car is ever for sale consider it sold.
Cummins for sure- we going to see you put a 6bt into a GU guys? Can't wait, keep up the mad vids.
It's beautiful, a nice supercharger would top it off nicely.
Blower would be awesome for this engine BUT it is going to be awesome as is. Great build.
She's a piece of history.
Hoff approved Nugget 👌 congrats Guys
Top work guys, always great workmanship Al and woody
Oi nice I like the Aldi intro.
But also, who in their right mind actually dislikes these videos?
Al, Woody +all involved do a damn good job.
Any true Aussie car enthusiast will appreciate a Kinga+5L, it's all you need.
Coincidence that I’m looking comments at 304! Well done fellas, enjoyed this build!
Car made good numbers. Great video as usual fellas and who doesn't love a beven lap in old aussie muscle!! 👍
Sounds awesome. I tried to zoom in on the shipping label on that box to see if it was from Ontario but my eyes arent what they used to be.
Isn't that where deboss garage is from?
@@mattgraham1983 indeed it is
Time for some atmospheres!
Haha nugget garage legends at the beginning 😂😂😂 can't wait to see more of their content too!
Valuable car now, no more Holden/Commodore sedans or wagons of any model ever, great power for a 6o's design engine and only 5 litre
The 304 has always sounded significantly better then the LS.
Anyone that thinks otherwise has rock's in their head.
Potaka79 , Rocks, noun.
What a great car. Well done, guys.
Al is the BEST. I want to take that man out for a beer or two. On me mate! Awesome work boys.
That’s great power !
Anyone who played half-life 2 and the episodes will recognize the sound.. It's spot on
Awesome work boys, and keeping the Aussie dream alive, best show in Australia 🇦🇺 too👌
Go on, Supercharge the Lion.
Heard a fire started at Noosa today, hope you're safe.
i love how at the start Al screwed his nose up every time "Iron Lion" was said to him... now he cant get enough of calling it that xD
Really enjoyed this build , love the work
Well done boys. All the big names on one video. Love it. I’ll keep an eye out for that kinga. 👍
Perfect cruiser only thing that you forgot to mention is you added a real drive shaft didn't it have a mock one still last episode lol
Hahaha There was a time when he refused to say the name, now you got Al not only calling it, but he's now DEFENDING the Iron Lion name!
The front brakes on my dads old 1972 model HQ Kingswood were far better than the VB-VS Commodore front brakes,it wasn't until Holden released the VT Commodore that they fitted some decent brakes.
If that's 281rwhp, that's very respectable for a stock Holden 5 litre V8,when the LS1 in my VY was first tuned it was fitted with custom 1 5/8" primsry Press bent headers which had bends crushed to 1 3/8" & the mufflers were only 2.25 inch units.
The power increased from 203 rwkw before the tune up to 221 rwkw afterwards (276 fwkw),now I've fitted a set of Genie 1 5/8" primary press bent headers & a twin 2.5" Redback exhaust system.
When I got my rego done last Monday, they snuck it off to a dyno tuner where they reflashed the PCM & now it has more like 300 fwkw out of a stock LS1 engine
Good job guys but that exhaust sound you nailed it....perfect!
Lets just turn it into the kingswood factory you know I love it !!
Well done fella's, Id be more than happy with 280hp. Top stuff.
Another awesome video fellas, thank you. 😁
Sounds good. Nice solid driver with enough balls to get out its own way. Race builds are cool, but high maintenance.
A 2jzgte in a vk commodore is my dream build. Have the car just need to save and get the engine. A 308 or 304 would be fun too
Loved watching the build up guys awesome job all round. Wish my hj wag had 270 hp
sounds sweet. good job
Another nailed series.
Cruisin' around Noosa in the Kingswood, cool as bro!
one hp per cubic inch at the flywheel from a n/a engine is respectable. what was the torque numbers?
270 odd horsepower is very bloody good for a 304 . Excellent series guys
that's good! that for sure 340 hp at the crank.
YEWWWW 6BT 24V here we come!
280rwhp from a cam only 5litre is stout! There are stroker motors not even making that.
Now it's time to put a 4088 on that bad boy and stuff another atmosphere in the intake!
Great stuff guys
Love this wagon so much, wish Canada saw some of these. At least I have my Falcon.
Nothing beats a few tough laps with the lads in a 5L kinga!!! Woody should have kept the Mo it would have been period correct for this build . Single 3” exhaust was a sh*t hot idea , sounds bloody unreal , as always top shelf lads 🤙🏼
I love this car
Could have atleast just given us a take off note as it drove away to give us an idea of its sound. Great work though guys cant wait for the future content on Teddy 🖒
