I like the idea of using HTV like that. I also appreciate that your videos are not edited, shows that everything isn't always perfect even for the pros. Thank you Betsy.
Thank you for keeping it real! It can be so frustrating sometimes to watch a tutorial where all the troubles, mistakes, hardships, etc. have been edited out to make the video appear more seamless and easy. As we know, that’s not always the reality of it and it can be discouraging. This is so helpful so we can know what to expect and how to succeed.
I love that you show the hard parts. I feel better knowing that I don't always struggle alone. Lol! I did find this particular video a little dark. Happy Craftmas!
Lol... Also your adorable. You husband is a doll for helping you and most of all you showed never to give up. I tend to get frustrated. I think I'm "crafty" but I'm not but I still try because of wonder channels and great people like you💞 so thank you
Thanks for keeping it real!! This is how real crafting really is! 😁I just made a sign yesterday and my vinyl was having trouble sticking to the wood. Can’t wait to try htv on wood!!
I totally agree! It’s doing the craft that’s the most fun! I would much rather make it then buy it! My daughter and I did several wooden signs for a friend, I found that using my mini iron (clover) worked well on those stubborn pieces. (With Teflon sheet of course!).
Love, love, love this! Thank you for taking your time to make all your awesome videos. I look forward to seeing what new projects you have for us every day.
Cute!!! Thank you for not editing your videos, not everything is going to be perfect all the time. This helps so if someone tries and don't give up because the vinyl didn't adhere on first try.
My question is, did anything transfer into the empty space between the pieces of wood? The transfer plastic looked empty when it was peeled off. But if there is transfer still connected over the pieces of wood I don't think I would like that. I'd rather there be space in the design where the wood spaces are.
I figure you have done these before and have them hanging up. Does the vinyl stay on long term? One thought I have is that it would stay on because it's actually melted into the wood. I just wondered if heat and/or humidity would affect it long term. Would there be any reason to seal it?
I have questions, I saw that your wood piece has gaps. But you didn't show the result how the letter stick to the gaps. Please explain more about this.
The fact that you are having a rough time and its peeling at the bottom, I love this video even more because it shows that you are not perfect just like the rest of us, and you worked with it in front of us till you got it to stick... This video gets a thumbs up because of the realness! I love the board it came out very beautiful!!
Betsy, can you please post of picture of the finished product on instagram? I would love to see a picture because sometimes it’s hard to see it on the video. Thanks for all the great ideas
I was having a hard time last night with textured wood and kept playing with it but it ended up melting the HTV. Do you suggest a specific brand/type of HTV
i am new to htv i didn't know you could put on so many surfaces thank you and that sign is super cute and i love how you show that so things take time and a little finessing :)
Betsy, I love This! I've made several wooden signs bc I love the rustic look, but I've always done it by making a stencil w vinyl and then painting it (which honestly I learned from u, so thank u for being an awesome teacher 😉). But I've never tried it w htv. So my question is...for wood pieces that have more space in between them than the one on this video, if I decide to do it with htv instead of paint, should I maybe cut the vinyl in those spots since there is a larger gap there? I totally understand leaving it if it's a smaller gap, but for larger ones I'm wondering if it would make it look better. Or do u think it's whatever a person likes? I would love to hear ur opinion on this. Thanks so much!
Hi Barbara, I didnt download the same file as you but I do play with computer a lot. An OTF file are font files, not cutting files. Is it possible you are trying to use the wrong file?
Love it! I was about to make a textured wood sign for my daughter's wedding, so your timing is perfect!!!! Do you just leave the vinyl hanging over the spaces in the wood or do you go back and cut them and smoosh them down in the cracks?
I'm new to electric cutting machines, but I love it so far. I love your channel! May I ask if you made your shirt? If so, is the file for sale? Thanks for sharing another cute craft.
The sign is cute...but not nearly as cute as the silent communication with the husband! 😂❤️
I like the idea of using HTV like that. I also appreciate that your videos are not edited, shows that everything isn't always perfect even for the pros. Thank you Betsy.
Carmen Sanders this is exactly what I wanted to say. Thank you Betsy.

You are such an inspiration to me I had hardly used my silhoute until i started watching you.

I love your videos Betsy, you have taught me so much. I finally took my silhouette out of the box after a year...Thank you
I bought a whole box of these picture frames glad I can do something to it

Really cute! Love wood and vinyl together. Thanks for sharing!
So happy I found your channel! What an inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your talents!

your videos are inspiring. I am trying more and more crafts with my Silhouette. Thanks!
Thanks for showing how to adjust when things are frustrating!
So nice to see unedited videos so we can see what can happen and how to fix it. Ty
You are so awesome. This came right on time
I use a lot of Oracal 631 for signs but now I can't wait to try HTV, thanks!
I really like how that turned out. I love all your ideas!
I have leaned so much from all of your videos thank you!!
Great idea, never thought of using HTV for my signs. Thanks & Hugs!
I love this concept. Looks like it would be easier than stenciling.
Cute!!! Thank you for not editing your videos, not everything is going to be perfect all the time. This helps so if someone tries and don't give up because the vinyl didn't adhere on first try.
So true...the end thing is just a teeny part of it
You are my favorite to watch! Thank you for sharing!
Haha my husband thinks the same thing! Looks awesome!
And I’m glad you didn’t speed it up so we could see the whole process

I love that design
Great video. I just need a heat press. Thanks
Tell your husband he wouldn't get all those wonderful custom shirts if you just bought them
I always seem to melt the carrier sheet and it leaves a clear film around the design. What am I doing wrong?
Omg!!! That is so cute thank you for all the videos they are awesome
Loving the Craftmas series thanks for these! You're adorable by the way!
Love the wood signs!
That is adorable
It turned out great!
So cute but think I would just do reg vinyl would be much faster?
Your a master welder just wondering why my vinyl did not stick to my wood it would. It come off of the transfer tape ughh
What is the clear plastic you weeded from. Is that a thicker transfer paper or is that the backer on the htv?
I love all the craft ideas. How are your headaches? Hope you are feeling better.
You have to hold it up to press? Not actually press it?
Just became one of your Patreon supporters! Looking forward to lots of fun things to do!
Why couldn’t you, re -press? As I sometimes have to re-press my shirts... any reason why I can’t?
I am LOVING Craftsmas!!!
OMG love this! Can't wait to try my hand at this!!
Really like your videos

I made the design to go around the gaps
Please help me on the placement. I have some of these but dont know what to put on them due to the cracks
Just wondering if you burnish the surface with a tennis ball and then peel if that would help.
Love that Betsy!
another good craft idea
So cute!
Another cute one!

fantastic. do u think it is possible to put vinyl htv onto a painted wooden surface. I love it videos by the way
I love your shirt
What is the temperature you have your press set to?
Betsy, I had no idea HTV could be used on a sign. Would HTV also be your preference with individual TILE pieces? Thank you!
Do you like htv better than oracal for these projects
I dont know why but I enjoying wedding. It's like relaxing to me lol. But what htv vinyl are you using?
Could you use the Easy Press?
I so need this design for my back porch!! So you do not need to sand it down?
Super cute 💜
Do you just leave the vinyl on where the spaces are or do you cut them out?
Why not just use regular vinyl?
i am new to htv i didn't know you could put on so many surfaces thank you and that sign is super cute and i love how you show that so things take time and a little finessing :)
It seems like a Cricut Easy Press would be easier. ❤️ the idea
I like finding out that you can use HTV on wood.

Love that, sorry you had a hard time with it.
Love this!!! I made that shirt today also 😂
Like the sign
Very cute
Do you do anything to seal the vinyl or does it not need that? lol xD
Made a purchase from The Hungry J Peg, but I file extenion is otf and will not down load to scan and cut? What did I do wrong?

I love it!

@@CuttinCornersVinyl nice, I planned on looking into that. Thank you!
What temp did you use?
I agree thanks for not editing your videos.. I think this would be me to the T ...
Ok I'm newer to all of this so please don't anyone get angry with my question... What's Htv? And Oracle
HTV is heat transfer vinyl. Oracal is a brand of adhesive vinyl.
Thank you for explaining I truly appreciate it. Your amazing 💜
The spaces on mine are a but wider
What kind of vinyl is that? It looks thicker than the easyweed I’ve been using.
Its thermoflex plus. It is my preferred brand.
Cuttin Corners Vinyl Awesome! Thank you.
Cool
What’s hav vinyl
Nice
looked almost like work ;-]
Hi Betsy
That is super cute
Hugs Stacy

You are so cute looking at your husband! I know men don't get it, crafting your own things.
