HOW to CROCHET 3D STITCH - for Scarf Blanket Hat and More - Stitchorama by Naztazia

- You can learn how to Crochet a 3D Stitch in this tutorial video. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This 3 dimensional look is created by using a series of front post double crochet together stitches. It's definitely a fun looking stitch that is relatively simple if you are already know the basics of crochet. For this sample I'm using worsted weight yarn and a size H 5 mm crochet hook. Although this stitch pattern may look different and new, it is actually based upon a doily pattern from a needle craft periodical from the late 1800s that my friend Lorrie Popow / lorriepopow graciously found for me.

This is a beautiful pattern. But I noticed -- and I hope you aren't offended -- you do the same thing I do. You sometimes make what I call "a half-single-crochet" instead of an actual single crochet (see @ 2:55). I do it, too. I once did a whole hat with this stitch! LOL! There is very little difference and I sometimes think it makes a nice change. (I did not tear apart the hat, BTW.) I really enjoy your videos and love the new patterns you come up with. ❤ You're so talented!
@@marigeobrien Not sure what you are talking about. 2:55 shows an actual single crochet stitch, using American crochet terms. Do you use UK crochet terminology perhaps?
I am a crochet lover and making things for more than three decades.I must say u r a crochet king . I learn a lot from u
I enjoy your tutorials very much😊
I have been crocheting for 50 years and this old dog is learning new tricks everyday! I absolutely love this pattern! Thank you for all you do!
I've been crocheting almost as long-- since I was 16 or 17, when my mother taught me. Every time I find a new pattern I think of my mother and how much she would loved these! And that knotless switch! I'm not sure if that's what it's called, but that's what it is. What a genius way to end yarn or switch colors. And no knots! It's awesome.
Naztazia you are a very clear teacher. I like how you create the 3 d stitches and your tutorials all very clear
Thank you so much!
I have to agree with Rehana. I hate it when people at the beginning of the video have to talk about the project for 15 minutes before starting. You do amazing work, and I am so glad that I came accross your video!
I like your teaching methods. Very simple explain to hard one .Thank you very much for your kind help.
Glad it was helpful!
I have never seen this stitch before but I absolutely love it. I was getting bored with everything else when I ran across this tutorial. I started a baby blanket in lt blue, royal blue and sand. Thank you so very much for sharing.
I LOVE ❤️ THIS STITCH. It's ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.
I wanted to do something handmade for my sisters for Christmas. I have been searching forever. I ran across this and I thought perfect. Scarves for everyone. Also I love your tutorial. Very easy to follow

This stitch is a perfect stash buster! I see a beautiful baby afghan - so soft and cushy for baby. Excellent tutorial. Very well explained.
This stitch is very beautiful. You explain it so good where it's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Thank you for sharing you gift and talent with us.
I Love this this stitch. While trying to figure out what to do with it I am going to make a pillow for practice and see what ideas come to me. Thanks Donna.💜

WoW, for such a complicated looking pattern you sure made it easy to follow and master. Thank you for such an awesome tutorial.
Looks like it would make an amazing bathroom rug with the right bulky cotton/bamboo blend.
I am doing stash buster projects and sample squares to be made into a blanket, this will be a good one to add. Thank you!
Thank you Donna for making something so complicated look so easy...Will be my next project...working on the Jacobs Ladder right now...can't thank you enough....Beautiful work!!!

What a great stitch! This is one of the best tutorials I have seen - you do it so well and your instructions are so clear, Thank you! I am just teaching my sweet grand-niece to crochet (left-handed) and she has "caught the bug!" I am forwarding your "How To" videos to her - your tutorials are wonderful and I know she will love them! Thank you and happy crocheting!
Z's zar
Wow, that was explained so calmly and clearly, I actually really want to have a go and I'm a complete beginner!
Ok actually just gave it a go and it turned out better than the granny squares that I was failing at last night!!
Keep going! It gets easier, funner, and is such a lovely hobby!👍
Superb madam... Your instructions are crystal clear along with well written instructions.. Thank you
Thank you so much 🙂
Love it! Now I need to watch video repeatedly til I master the stitch.
Best stitch I've seen for years. Thanks
I love u too much.....and i like any project u do it...for simplicity in illustration and discusions....I'm from Eygpt........
Que precioso punto, trataré de hacerlo !!!!!!
What a cool blanket this would make. However, it sure looks like a yarn eater of a stitch. So maybe a nice small throw, or use a thin cotton mixed with a scrubbie yarn for a dishcloth. But again, a very cool stitch. Awesome tutorial. Thank you. It would be a great square in a sampler blanket.
I am making a blanket now and I feel like it is never ending and it is a yarn eater for sure
I was looking for something "unique" to crochet for a cowl/scarf and now I found something truly easy and cute and if I change up the colors I'm sure it would make something nice for my nephew.
Hola Naztazia...! Siempre me gustan tus proyectos que nos compartes... pero esta puntada en 3D ... está espectacular y sencillo de tejer... sólo hay que seguirte... muchísimas gracias... éxitos
i'm not a big fan of front/back post, but i have to admit, this is very cool...i love the 3D effect it has..i may enjoy using this on a few projects
You are amazing ....thank you so much for your tutorials
Love the stitch
Just saw the thumbnail... thought it was colored circles stacked on top of each other. Had to come and watch! That is so awesome!!
Looks advanced, but easy techniques! Looking forward to trying this later!
Brilliant ideas I will definitely try👌👌👌👌💐🙏
I absolutely love your video tutorials thank you so much
Glad you like them!
I have a large brain injury. U R helping me lean how to crochet again! Thank u so much!
I don't understand why so many say this is simple. It is actually quite complicated. Once you get it, it flows. It still remains very time consuming and a yarn hog. The results are wonderful and as usual Donna is a great instructor. But easy it is not, okay.
I love this! I'm debating between making a shawl with this or a blanket. Decisions, decisions... 🤔 Thank you for the pattern!!
Very cool looking gonna have to try it now
Vive naztazia de raniya love

Donna, this is another winner! I'm making my second "sampler" blanket, and saw this stitch and just had to include it. Worked up perfectly, I had the right number of stitches in my blanket, and it's turned out beautifully. I did 4 different colors. Thank you so much.

What a beautiful stitch! I have never seen it before and can't wait to try it out. Your directions are excellent---I've watched the video twice and am ready to start, taking it one row at a time. Wonderful video! And I'm so glad that you don't have music in the background. Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much!
What a Beautiful crochet stitch
I love this stitch. Your tutorials are so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing with so many people. Bless you.
This would make a beautiful afghan.
Thank you. Great stitch.
To test, I had only done 16 + 2 and one row. When you put the ends together you get something like a button. The only thing I haven't figured out is the bottom where the hole is a little bit too big to simply sew it together. I will try out certain things to close the bottom part nicely.
I added 2 more rows and a border and something like a tail, and I got a nice bookmark.
I wonder how to make a triangle shawl.🤔 🙋♀️
Great pattern.
Donna, I bought yarn today, red and gold, my son wants a twin 49er blanket, i am going to try it in the 3D stitch thanks to your pattern, i will upload pics to my instagram and tag you in it as soon as i finish it
Wonderful!
How much yarn did you buy?
Este punto es hermosísimo!!!
Gracias por compartir esta belleza!! 😘😘😘😘
