You can lie and say you don't have an extra pencil or you only carry one because it's mechanical and can't give it away. Trying to make everyone around you happy and can be bad for your mental health. 10:36 don't record your friends, that's pretty toxic behavior even if your not a toxic person, if they find out you've been recording them then that WILL break their trust and you'll lose friends. There are other ways to find out if someone really doesn't like you I know it's March but some of this advice is SO problematic

Nina I mean, I like online school too if it weren’t for me possibly never seeing my friends again because we’re all going to different schools next year, watching my friendships slowly deteriorate, missing my graduation, missing my graduation trip, and a few other things. But yes, I am appreciative that I’m not sick from the corona right now. But how can I actually tell? I may just be asymptomatic. But frankly, I’d prefer waking up way too early every day and being able to see my friends over a world pandemic and a crushing loneliness. I, personally, loved high school. Now, as a university student, I have met some people who hated the experience, but they didn't give up. Uni/collage isn't for everyone, but you'll be soo happy later in life if you finish school. Anyway, I hope you're having a great day❤
It's nice to hear someone have a positive experience in high school. I had an alright time, but I don't regret finishing (which was technically yesterday lol) High school isn't always the worst 4 years or the best; it just depends on your mindset, your location, your peers, etc.

Thank you for encouraging younger people to tolerate and do well in school. There aren't alot of influencers out there who genuinely care enough about their viewers to give them good advice. That being said, I'm graduated and currently in college. I despised middle/highschool and it's not because of learning, but how messed up our US curriculum is. But I always knew it was important to do well because it would get me into college and hopefully land a well paying job in the future. So it's good to see you two teaching that same mentality to your viewers. :)

It literally looked and felt like prison and the way the Administration treated the students was actually like prisoners (supervised bathroom visits, separated lunches, we weren't even allowed our full lunch period) and the teachers were paid very little which showed in the way they taught us. They had no passion. We just really need to revamp the school systems.

Yah, I have been that person too. People would ask to work with me and we would talk the entire time while I do my work and then I realize that they copied everything I wrote down on my assignments. This year I’m not working with anyone expect my bestie of 5 years.

I am a high school dropout, and I am completely behind the message of this video. I am autistic, and I didn’t cope in a regular school setting. I wish I could have. There aren’t many options in my area for education for people with disabilities. I continued to study early childhood education online, and I now work as an educator. I understand children & animals, I’m not so good when it comes to adults! 😂 I am studying my diploma of early childhood education online now and it is taking me a lot longer than it takes the average person because I have a short attention span and I have the need to fidget, move around and it’s just really difficult to concentrate on a task. It takes me longer to do most tasks, to be honest. School isn’t for everyone, but I absolutely support the message of continuing with school if you can. I am so tired of hearing the negative “school sucks” attitude - it doesn’t make it better when you walk in with the attitude that everything will be terrible!

I was never upset with school because OmG iT'S jUsT THe wORsT, I was upset because the schools I went were experiencing the worst failings of the American education system, especially for neurodivergent kids, and I want it to be better so people like us don't fall through the cracks.
Chloe Nelson Aw that's cool! I like how you have a positive perspective towards school even if it is indeed a bit difficult. Sure I know that school is not easy, especially for those who aren't really as skilled as others (we all have our own methods of learning), but some students "hate school" just to be "cool" and "relatable". I think it would make school a little less difficult if you learn to enjoy it, even a little bit, because as far as I've heard it gets even harder once you start getting a job and is not used to living a responsible lifestyle.
Actual back to school advice: 1. Treat school like it’s your job (because it is) 2. Stay organized 3. Don’t worry so much about aesthetics or popularity. Be nice to others and hang out with the people you enjoy being around, and relax

People ask me to help their work all the time, especially in computing, i do it so that when the assesment come around they ask for help and i can say im busy and they have to relearn everything for themeselves

Cristine, I really think you should watch school videos from the "studytube" community (youtubers like unjaded jade, tbhstudying, studyquill, and more)! They make school related content and talk about school and learning in such a positive and inspiring way. These channels aren't mainstream, but they have 200,000 to 400,000 subscribers which is still impressive considering it's a relatively niche community. I think you should watch a few videos from these youtubers because it's completely different to these beauty gurus and what not making school related videos.

My lockers are thinner than “the twig” at school. Also I either got a dumb locker that’s for some reason a different color than every other locker and I can’t even open it, or I’m just a dumbass. I haven’t touched it since freshman year n I’m gonna be a junior this year Fck the lockers

when I was in school I tried SO hard to get good grades and I dare say I did pretty well. (My nickname was literally Google Assistant mk) So, to see smart kids portrayed like some dumb nerd upsets me a lot. Ya like back then in my school the smart kid was actually the coolest kid coz the kid was actually smart... in tons of different ways... so she could understand, thus connect to whatever people were talking about. Agreed, I'm forty with two sons and it's nice to see a big UA-cam personality that actually speaks positively about education. Life gets tough kids, no avoiding it but if you have a good education no one can ever take that from you. I had to drop up school because of anxiety crisis and panic attacks caused by bullying and i still wish i could have finish my education but was something at that time i couldn't chose so for those ones that can choose at least finish high school. I appreciated the “college isn’t for everyone” discussion towards the end. I went for 3.5 years and decided that I was going down the wrong road, so I dropped out. I can’t say I recommend it for everyone, but now I work with animals for a living and I’m thriving much more than I ever did at uni
i'm actually going back to school so i can do work with animals. here in the Netherlands you do need a diploma to work with animals, so i guess it depends on where you live tho. Btw you can do charity work with animals here or work in an animal shop, but one of em doesn't pay anything and from the animals shops paycheck you can barely pay rent, let alone food etc. also (most of) the animal shops here are terrible and you should definitely not work there if you love them because it's all about the money and not what is best for the animals sadly.

Thank you for encouraging younger people to tolerate and do well in school. There aren't alot of influencers out there who genuinely care enough about their viewers to give them good advice.
That being said, I'm graduated and currently in college. I despised middle/highschool and it's not because of learning, but how messed up our US curriculum is. But I always knew it was important to do well because it would get me into college and hopefully land a well paying job in the future. So it's good to see you two teaching that same mentality to your viewers. :)

I agree. Highschool was a painful experience for me. I went to a poor school in a old building. There were bugs, mice, the walls were falling apart and we had no windows. It literally looked and felt like prison and the way the Administration treated the students was actually like prisoners (supervised bathroom visits, separated lunches, we weren't even allowed our full lunch period) and the teachers were paid very little which showed in the way they taught us. They had no passion.
We just really need to revamp the school systems.

I am a high school dropout, and I am completely behind the message of this video.
I am autistic, and I didn’t cope in a regular school setting. I wish I could have. There aren’t many options in my area for education for people with disabilities.
I continued to study early childhood education online, and I now work as an educator. I understand children & animals, I’m not so good when it comes to adults! 😂 I am studying my diploma of early childhood education online now and it is taking me a lot longer than it takes the average person because I have a short attention span and I have the need to fidget, move around and it’s just really difficult to concentrate on a task. It takes me longer to do most tasks, to be honest.
School isn’t for everyone, but I absolutely support the message of continuing with school if you can. I am so tired of hearing the negative “school sucks” attitude - it doesn’t make it better when you walk in with the attitude that everything will be terrible!

I was never upset with school because OmG iT'S jUsT THe wORsT, I was upset because the schools I went were experiencing the worst failings of the American education system, especially for neurodivergent kids, and I want it to be better so people like us don't fall through the cracks.

Sure I know that school is not easy, especially for those who aren't really as skilled as others (we all have our own methods of learning), but some students "hate school" just to be "cool" and "relatable". I think it would make school a little less difficult if you learn to enjoy it, even a little bit, because as far as I've heard it gets even harder once you start getting a job and is not used to living a responsible lifestyle.

Cristine, I really think you should watch school videos from the "studytube" community (youtubers like unjaded jade, tbhstudying, studyquill, and more)! They make school related content and talk about school and learning in such a positive and inspiring way. These channels aren't mainstream, but they have 200,000 to 400,000 subscribers which is still impressive considering it's a relatively niche community. I think you should watch a few videos from these youtubers because it's completely different to these beauty gurus and what not making school related videos.

I appreciated the “college isn’t for everyone” discussion towards the end. I went for 3.5 years and decided that I was going down the wrong road, so I dropped out. I can’t say I recommend it for everyone, but now I work with animals for a living and I’m thriving much more than I ever did at uni

i'm actually going back to school so i can do work with animals. here in the Netherlands you do need a diploma to work with animals, so i guess it depends on where you live tho. Btw you can do charity work with animals here or work in an animal shop, but one of em doesn't pay anything and from the animals shops paycheck you can barely pay rent, let alone food etc. also (most of) the animal shops here are terrible and you should definitely not work there if you love them because it's all about the money and not what is best for the animals sadly.
