    I bought the Kobalt because it was on clearance for $32, the battery and charger are worth more than that. The Kobalt really should be called a mister, not a fogger and both really have 2 different uses. The fogger keeps fine particles in the air for a very long time and is great for wide open areas, the mister sprays a light coat on surfaces. Fogger gets them in the air, mister gets them where they land. I live in a wooded area and use the mister to spray trees, shrubs, my wood fence, on and under my deck, and the outside of my shop. I have also used it with herbicide and insecticide on the lawn. I’ve never used a fogger so I’m not sure how long a treatment will last but I feel like the mister lasts longer because the chemical stays on the surfaces instead of dissipating in the air. The mister does require more chemical than the fogger and the non sale price is quite a bit more and the fogger seems like a faster application. Ideally I might wind up with both, the mister for more long term maintenance and the fogger seems ideal for use before outdoor events.

    As others have said the kobalt is really more of a mister and you should dilute the liquid to the spray rate on the label for your target pest! You only need to mix a tablespoon or two per the half gallon and fill the rest of the tank with water.

    I think there is a place for both. Sometimes it's rare to get windspeed below 2mph so you'd kinda need a mist to not be treating the whole neighborhood. I wish they'd make an adapter to put on our leaf-blowers.

    I'm a ULV fogger/mister guy all the way. I have 3 of them, one pro quality handheld ULV fogger (electric) for major jobs, a backpack ULV fogger (electric) for large jobs outside, and a battery-powered 1/2 gal similar to the Kobalt for portable jobs. I'm beginning to love the battery-powered one because when I am outside and I need a quick knockdown of mosquitos I grab it and pull the trigger and lights out for bugs. The other two are for large whole lawn type jobs. The handheld pro one puts out a mist so fine it's like smoke, perfect for ridding a home of bed bugs or any type of bug. Just start at the back and work your way to the front then leave home with a few windows cracked for a few hours and no bugs whatsoever when you return.

    Fogging wise is way different than pest control effectiveness. I know that would be hard to compare on camera though. I'm going to go with the Kobalt as I already have the line up plus overall cost is much lower due to propane cost and the Kobalt sprayer in on sale right now for 89$ (w/battery) but I've heard of people picking them up as low as 30$ (w/o battery). My concern would be those active chemicals have to be burning off at the coil, so it's really just smoke that is driving the bugs off, but misting will actually coat the insect or be ingestible by the insect for more prolong results. Again, just a personal opinion that I'm basing my decision off. I do like the idea of the fogger under a house though (crawlspace) because mist droplets will inevitability fall were at gases like the fog will have more lift and rise. Both serve their purpose.

    I truly do don't want to be rude, but it seems you did not read the product application and any safety directions. The intent is to spray insecticides requiring considerable amount of dilution and PPE. Extremely unsafe without protection and while kids are playing in the yard. Please check the directions on the products and if this is true, please remove and redo this video so other do not go out and repeat the same.

    • @WhitehouseFarmVet
      @WhitehouseFarmVet  Рік тому +7

      No not at all its always good to hear feedback and concern! Remember insecticide does not mean poisonous!!! It means any substance to kill insects! These are not concentrates they are a diluted mix sold for residential use without need for a commercial license hence why any lowes,home depot,ace hardware etc can sell them. The black flag and Ortho can be harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin from the bottle, just like most cleaning products you keep under your sink! in spray form it takes 30 pumps of each which is alot for 1000ft of coverage which obviously as the directions say its safe to spray just not in 5mph or over winds because obviously you dont want to spray it back in your face even in vape form im sure thats not good for you somehow!, The Orth insecticide if you read the labels say right on the front safe for humans and animals! But obviously not something you would want to swallow or bath in im sure of that! You can also buy a lemongrass insecticide spray which is all natural! The user just needs to know what type of insecticide spray they are using! Thank you for watching and concerns!👍

      Whenever using anything like this and even weed killer it is always something that you have to think about and your definitely not a jerk for thinking that! it's always in the back of my mind whenever using any chemicals! The pesticide and weed killer that you see at all of these stores that anyone can buy are what the EPA consider minimal health residential use, meaning they are not the concentrates that commercial businesses use and need a business license to purchase! But dont let minimal fool you they are still toxic , and risk is always there!!! I totally get being worried about possible cancer effects! 😖 This is not something we use all the time and they do make pet friendly alternatives to add , they are just more expensive and that's what we normally use when we do fog! This was just a video showing what most people buy and use! I do appreciate your comment because it's TRUE we never truly know how harmful or toxic stuff is until 40 50 plus years later when they come out and say ,hey that stuff was causing cancer! But fogger was around since 1943 and there has not been any published cancer threat, but once again you never know! So it really comes down to the individual ,do I use it or not?
