Love this interview with Billy Joel. Such a brilliant talent in every facet of music and so much fun to listen to in interviews. Very humble man to considering everything he has achieved in his profession. I respect his working class attitude as well. Would love a chance to sit down and talk with Billy.
I cannot BEGIN to tell you how much I miss Ed Sciaky and Michael Tearson in Philadelphia back in the late 1980s. They were deeply reflective radio hosts who talked a lot about the history of the bands and the meaning behind the music. I used to listen to them every chance I had.
In our own way this was our version of Elvis Costello types were doing in Europe. This was the average Americans hero and we all loved it! He was flying in the face of corporate Rock Disco and punk ! I like his look the way talks the cigarette the attitude! From the age of 9 all I wanted to do ever do was grow up and where a blazer, with a tie, pair of jeans and sneakers! 52nd Street! Love you Billy
Now once, I was at Devereux, and it also happened to be a snow day for all of us, so we all stayed in Mainhouse, and we all had free time activities in Mainhouse for a while.
I bet it would be better to have a beer with Billy than Bruce. Also, very cool seeing a humble Billy sitting on the grass during an interview, which I bet he totally forgot about.
2024. And he's still a success!! ❤
Been a super fan of Billy's for 41 years now😊seen him at least 20 + times in concert and counting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PIANO MAN! & GOD BLESS ED SCIAKY! A Philly DJ legend!!!
His singing voice fits the music perfectly. I don't know exactly what it is about it, but it's part of what makes his songs sound great.

It would be awesome if Billy surprised us all and dropped another classic album. I miss the quality of music like Billy gave us in the seventies.
