I recently enrolled into UTI,this video made me question if its right for me,it seems like these people already know what they are doing completely,I wanted to join this school to learn and be able to physically work on vehicles,because I don’t know much at all right now.

I graduated 4.0, perfect attendence, and went and worked for Caterpillar. This place is legit but do NOT TAKE OUT STUDENT LOANS FOR PERSONAL USE!!! Student loans for school are great, but taking them out for recreation or living expenses is a bad idea.
50% grad rate & the reviews were horrible people were getting blacklisted on jobs for attending uti.. was actually excited to go but after finding that all out + the 55grand yeah no thanks
Don’t waste your time and money at this school, go to an actual college where they offer an automotive program, my dad went to the one in skyline college (San Bruno California)

It’s like my dream school you know. While community colleges that provide auto training may seem like a better option, and that may be true too. Well, UTI felt right for me. I had a feeling in me you know. Plus, although this school is expensive, I have a trust fund. So lmao I’m one of those kids😂. So yeah, money ain’t an issue. But yeah this school feels right for me. I’m a student in high school and UTI is catching my eye I’ve recently been helping my dad with his mechanic shop and I’m loving it so far and man I would love to get accepted into this program
I would love to go to UTI but based on a little bit of research there is none in Washington state. I'm currently in 11th grade and have done some research and think a easy way to go would be clover park college because you don't need a good SAT score and has aid for low income. The only reason why I would stay in Washington is because I have a scholarship bound thing to any college as long as it's in Washington with the addition of aid and that means that the UTIs in Florida, Texas, California, and other places could not work for me.
Yeah I have now done a lot of research and video watching and asking questions. And I believe I will be trying to go there when I graduate and go for diesel mechanic.

On a scale of 1 to 10 and with an educated guess based off of factual data: A 3.5 GPA is near perfect. No doubt impressive in any circumstance. How difficult and what would be the average percentage of people who have this goal and achieve it?
I got a 3.0 GPA once in HS, just to get my license. I took auto/diesel/industrial & Ford FACT 2006-2008 and graduated with a 3.5 overall. They factor in your attendance as part of your grade. I'm from Alaska, and when I had family come to visit, I missed some time. I paid (still am...) Close to $50k, and that was in 2006. It's gotta run $100k in today's world. If you can afford it (military) Id say... Really do your research before signing on the dotted line. Go to the shops around you and talk with some of the techs and get their input. Sense 2008, the UTI deploma helped me get a job once. Now it just happenwd to be the best paying job I've even had. And UTI doesn't teach anything on military equipment. Just saying.

@@bananalion2012 first of everything they had this housing program call chs and they fucked me over sooooo much every month with rent money knowing I was a full time student with part time job secondly the teacher honestly didn’t care about your career or knowledge as a mechanic 3 weeks a course isn’t enough to fully understand any system no matter how good of a learner you are they would push you to do the work to make themselves look good and when you would ask questions there was never enough time to get full answer we were always to busy trying to get the paper work and lab done and had high expectations that you would learn yesterday’s lesson the following day the only reason why I succeeded as a mechanic was due to my current job taking the time and explaining everything step by step the only good this school did for me was get me a piece a paper stating I can work in the diesel field try your local cummunity colleges and see what programs they have to offer first I’m in debt and I fucking regret uti with a passion sincerely Tlopez

I’m surprised so many people say don’t go here. We had someone who gave us a presentation for uti in my mechanics class. He also went to uti. And he was really motivating us to go there, and made it seem like if you go here you could get a job right away paying 20$ an hour. Then increase your pay and whole bunch of other stuff.
I'm there now I graduate in November if you ever need anything feel free to ask Mooresville NC is crazy but a very enjoyable area especially being close to Charlotte. The campus has a lot of events and shows that were going on before Corona hit and if you are looking at student housing I would personally recommend getting your own room through CHS or if you can afford an apartment.
Yeah I was disappointed to find out my high school didn’t have automotive classes, but my dads a mechanic so he teaches me instead, I hope to be able to attend once I graduate HS, especially since I live like 10 minutes away.
I remember wanting to do automotive at uti or community college. Never did But I am a agronomist now and I have learned to fix all of my diesel and Ag equipment haha lol. I wanted to learn the science of plants because nobody else can teach me that but I can always learn mechanics and automotive skills on my own by fixing them myself.

They make car manuals for every car and how to fix them all the way down to the torque specs of a bolt. It's not hard to fix any car as long as you have this and the right tools for the job. That 50k could buy every book and tool that you need plus some to start a business of your own or make a fast car that is unique.
In my experience part of what I paid for were the connections and relationships made while I was at UTI. I still benefit from some of those connections 15 years after graduation. There's a lot more to going to school than just the $ part.

They don’t let you work on them. You have labs and if you want to work on them it has to be a super easy fix you are not going to pull your own motor out and get to work on it. Lol if you have a flat tire then yeah.....maybe lol it’s it’s an alignment they yeah. The fix has to be quick and easy can’t stay over night type of work. Wondering why UTI never responded to your question they sure did respond to everything else lol

No it’s not. 75% class room test every 3 days and 25% is labs with work sheets. Depends on the phase you take. Each phase is different not all are 50/50.

Classes are about 5 hours per day, and most students work outside jobs around their school schedule, thanks!

I wouldn't pay a guy to teach me I would rather learn from my father and uncles cause they where tought buy there dad and he was a high school graduate that learned buy doing not paying money to be tought you want to learn this trade or any body work kind then go to a shop and pic up the tool and go ask how can I learn I'm sure there will be someone more then happy to show you and you are getting payed to learn and not spending save money
