I've seen them live in the Netherlands but with Fima Ephron on the bass instead of Craig Taborn on the Fender Rhodes. They are amazing! Nate Smith is soo groovy!
Great band. Everyone contributes a tune or two, in a relaxed rehearsal...walking thru the tunes, and local bar in NY to try it out in front of a live audience.
I actually found out how to do it myself! I used to growl really loud in my sax. I just have to growl more softly and it sounds pretty decent int the upper register
Is there somewhere I could find the full, uninterrupted recordings of all of these songs? I am particularly interested in that take of Train... Thanks!
"2 drink minimum per set" OMG, that place actually encourage people to listen to one of the most finest jazz artists and get drunk at the same time. I just found the place where I'm going after death.
So great. So, so great!!!!!
Really nice video. Thanks for producing it and making it available here on UA-cam. Awesome!
Fantastic.
Finally it's back on the web!:)
According to Nate Smith, Underground is recording new material in December! I imagine these tunes will end up in those sessions.

I've tried looking for it as well but couldn't find it. So if anyone else have found it, let us know!
how does he do that upper-register growl around 11:48? John Coltrane does it on A Love Supreme, too. Anyone?
