    Despite his surrealistic and colossal ability, Joshua allows humility and modesty to be his guiding light; so it is with many exemplar performers who are indeed meritorious of a tsunami of praises.
    Adorable posting!

    Wow way humble and that is cool but he is much better then he gives himself credit for. I love his playing and music! I met him in Manhattan and he was as friendly as he is here, great player and dude!

    OMG - that build up and when drums come in at 1:35. Goose bumps. I was blown away by some outstanding drum playing on this. Overall fantastic musicmanship. Heard it about 10 times and cant get over it. Now released as an album as well.

    He's too hard on himself. He's one of the best saxophonists alive. And his sidemen are some of the best musicians in the world.

    It's doesn't hurt to have a father who was a great jazz saxophonist. Dewey! Redman !!

    There are so many douchey jazz musicians, its so great to hear this type of humility in a musician.

      99% of modern day tenor players are and forever gonna stay humble, the reason is: Michael Brecker.

    Joshua Redman is a very humble man. Love his character and his style! \ ( ^ _ ^ ) /

    Joshua Redman may think he has more to learn as a jazz musician. I've been playing jazz saxophone for 40 years and I ain't heard many players that can touch him. You're a hard man to please JR. If you get any better I might have a heart attack.

      Terrence Howard Yeah.... That part caught my attention too and it's actually nice to know even the greats experience that "I'm not there".

      Ditto, his mastery is only understood by those who played a long time and listen hard. His duo work with Brad Meldhau makes me laugh and cry in the best way.

      I am a 40-year player as well, it's somewhat satisfying to hear one of the true masters are never satisfied as well. Must be Jazz...

      That's usually how the greats think and it's real. It is why they are great. They are always growing and evolving.

    • @disgruntled_llama
      @disgruntled_llama 8 років тому +1

      +DanON Based on when this was recorded, he's either playing a Balanced Action or a Super (Balanced) Action by Selmer. I know he bought his SBA around 10 years ago from Tenor Madness in Waterloo, IA.
      Well, now that I see this was from 2014, I'd bet he's playing that SBA.
