@@sleepy35th sounds like you know what you are talking about ..i just bought an a5 1.8 2013.. piston rings are better than the last generation but as you said better to be safe than sorry..any other ideas?
@@spirosgal1885 No problem! If you see oil smoke from the exhaust, and you can confirm by compression that your piston rings are good, then the turbo seals are known to be a second point of failure.
2010-2014 audi 2.0Ts have oil slug issues other than that they are cheaper to tune and lighter
Get your dates right chief. The 8T Generation with the faulty 2.0 TFSI piston rings was produced from 2007 to November 2011 when the Facelift came ;)
Also faulty slug issues fixed after 2015 that’s why the 2.0t Tfsi was updated in HP after 2015 complete different setup
@@Dominik-or3pw excuse me 2007-2014 8T was used
Nice video and a gorgeous car, some of the reasons are the same why I went S3 over RS3. Those 4 cylinders are build in such number parts are easy to access and cheaper than others audi engines.
But man you guys get cheap fuel. $25 to fill up would be a dream, cost $80 here (UK) to fill mine up and pretty sure got less capacity than your A5.
Im from Scotland man, got an A5 2.0tfsiits about £70-80 to fill depending where i go. I always go for 97 octane minimum as well just to be safe 🤣🤔
@@scalecreations6464 Yeah cheap fuel not worth it long time, mad the fuel cost difference between UK and US.
@@Beardchanics its mental! Thats the real American Dream...cheap fuel 🤣🤣
I got the exact same car and i got a new exhaust and intake but it still doesn’t sound that good
what year is yours? also is it AWD or RWD? do they make a RWD A5?
no audi is always awd or fwd
@@Canox92 that comment made no sense? what?
@Demian Hernandez sorry it was punctuation that threw me off. it makes sense now
@@Canox92 some R8s come RWD.
Agree 💯. I’m happy with my all black 2011 they just sexy I want to upgrade mine soon. Give me some pointers on what to add please
Same
Your car is beautiful
boiiiiiiiiii i got a B8.5 A4 at 114k miles CHANGE THAT OIL AND CLEAN THAT CARBON other than that ur spot on, its reliable asf
Same brotha, great car
@@loushotta if you got the CDMA coded engine w the aluminum intake manifold from factory, you can run E85 without a tune 👀
@@sleepy35th all I run is e85 😂😂😂
@@loushotta AYYEE 😂
@@sleepy35th dm me on IG @loushotta need somebody to talk to about future mods 😂
The engine reliable but that turbo tho and the oil sucking problems
Turbo upgrade and piston upgrade doesn't fix both those problems??
From what I’ve heard, the 2l tfsi is not very relatable at all, especially because of its oil consumption
Reliable*
thats just the b8 models, they fixed it in 2012+ b8.5 models
Facts they burn oil
Most disappointing part of this car if the B&O sound system. Horrible. Good review and I agree on most points. Gas mileage also blows but solid car for sure.
I have the same car bro A5 2011 2.0 TFSI 180hp...Have the same grill and side bumpers...Now I want to tune it up a little because it runs verry quietly..I can't stand it...The feeling & the sound at 30km/h is the same as if you were driving 200km/h...Shame its illegal in my country to put loud exhaust pipes but who gives a f_ck..I want my baby purring just like this...Can you tell me what exhaust system(pipes did you put) and what's the brand of the Red part on the left under the hood.I believe it's the turbo....Can you tell me a little more about it..Yours sound awesome..I wanted to put acrapovic exhaust but ppl tell me i won't feel the difference in sound...BTW, how many hp did you got plus,by adding the turbo and does your car now spends more oil by adding the exhaust system? And did you tuned it up electronically by adding chips and stuff..? I'm asking because I don't want to f_ck it up because its looked after extremly well..When I ask 4 advice about chip tuning the car almost every1 is against it..They all say it will lower the engine lifetime a great deal...So if you can tell me more about it,I would appreciate it a lot! Mainly about what exhaust system(brand/type) you use and what kind of turbo...Great car bro! 😎
its just like an S5 until you race one
You know the difference from a S5 and A5 when they pull up😂😂
Keep it up 👍 love your car freaking hot🔥
did u just say u wanted something more reliable ??? s5s are way more reliable than the junk 2.0t , 3.0 is bulletproof
Where the actual hell are you living filling up for $25 on premium and going 400miles
Idk man by the time you put a few grand into the car u might as well buy an s5. I had a 2010 A4 and got my s5 back in August. Once you get an s car u can never go back
Thanks bro
My question would be why would someone in right mind go for the 2 door instead of the stunning 4 door version.
2 door coupe looks 100x better. Sporty and sexy.
Well, I'm not sure if you've noticed that you would have to open your wallet significantly wider to acquire one of those because they are way newer. This also means voiding a valid warranty with mods.
Other than that, why wouldn't he just get an R8? I think you get my point.
@@Todd.T didn't know that they are more expensive. Here in Europe the price is about the same. But indeed, by looks the 4 door version seems pricier and more composed.
@@martinsmazonis2643 It's not more expensive because it's a 4 door. It's more expensive because you have to buy a newer one because only 2017 and up are four door. The car in the video is older and the idea of the video was to buy an older and more affordable car to modify to go faster and look nicer than factory.
Other than that, I prefer the 4 door as well. Since I am older and probably have a bit more available cash, I have a 2016 A6 3.0t with around 480hp as my daily driver.
@@Todd.T on EU market the 4 doors are available since 2008 or 2009, got myself a 2009 a5 only for 9k EUR.
S5 = s-line A5 3.0T, that’s all, it’s pretty much an glorified engine option for an a5, kind of like 435i(440i) vs 428i. Of course Awdi made some options unavailable on A5 and neutered a5’s performance so that people would buy an s5. Disclaimer-I own a b8 s4 and it had transmission problems (shift selector lever sensor) and intercoolers bursted and hydrolocked the engine, go figure.
Good job very nice
85 octane is way to low for an audi, gonna want 95 or 98
Nice Car, I have 2010 A5 3.0TDI Quattro SLine. With a tune, good low rpm power, great sleeper..
$25 for 60L of fuel WOW that's cheap. Sounds like that new government you got now you will be paying $70+ for 60L like the rest of us around the world 😥😥😥
Beautiful car
I have an audi a3 now i had a a5 i love it
But honestly ?
the S is alot more expensive $$
Put a big turbo on it & laugh at every s5 owner
3.2 is the best lol
Honestly dude lol honestly I just bought two of them 2014 and 2013 and maybe one more 2012 Honestly
S5 is a lot more reliable your timing chain will soon stretch and skip and then the s5 owner will be laughing at you when your stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck
Beauty
$25 for a full tank of gas in 2020... :,(
Hopefully it’s newer than the 15. Those motors are not reliable, trust me. Your problems will start arising in the mid 40s.
my 2014 a5 has 80k with no issues
Lol I have my Audi a5 modded out and stage 2 110000 miles... works great.
My buddies is tuned and he didn't have problems until 130K. He doesn't wash the car, change the oil or do any regular maintenance because "he forgot". 2006 A4 2.0t
I got a 2012 a4 manual. 185,000mi stage 2 integrated engineering with zero issues.
7 min video just to say it costs less to run
A5gannnng
i cant beleive people actually tune in decel pop.
I have a 2013 s5 with an awe touring exhaust and the pops come naturally with out a tune sounds amazing
@@nick-xk4mp that would be because your car never got tuned properly. my mechanic would spend days tuning my race bike to get rid of decel pop. it is just a fad that people think sounds cool now, its not a proper tune.
I got an s5 for 24k 2015 with 45k miles listed at 28,900 would’ve been 30k plus if it weren’t for my discount 😂
All Audi and vw 2.0 T engine are rubbish . They burn oil
