Rusty Antique lock Restoration

- I found this old lock in the basement of my grandfather's house. This lock was made in Hungary in the seventies. It was under a layer of dirt and it was completely rusted and the key was missing. I doubted that I would be able to restore it, but I had many challenges. I am happy with the result and I was able to bring this lock back to life

Splendid job you did restoring that old padlock, and even more splendid is making a new key for it. The lock looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work as usual.
Thank you for your positive opinion and support dear friend, your opinion gives motivation and hope to continue the work

Bringing a dead instrument back to life is very enjoyable and exciting for me🌹🤠
A professional restoration this lock has an interesting mechanism and you did it good
Thank you for your support💐🌹
Yes, it has an interesting mechanism and of course it was much more difficult than the previous reconstructions
I wouldn't quite say it's "antique" but I love a good restoration cleaning of any engineering out of the early 1900's
Yes it is more vintage 👌🌹
It's interesting how the Word antique is used today. Since the age of antiquity spanned from the rise of the greece and arabian city states to the splintering of rome. So in that sense there are not many things beyond decrepit ruins, broken clayshards and little Personal effects...wait, there is something: the Anthykithera mechanism, an absolute marvel of engineering...Well i lost the case a bit there...the Word antique would still be appliable since with moving forward in time the things where the Word antique can be applied changes the narrative. So yes, this Padlock can be seen as antique if its building date is around 1900s...sry for ranting about technicalities...
@lucyxchan6808 Thanks for the thorough review and for taking the time to share it👌💐🌹
I wonder if there's a way to recover the rusted steel with some kind of steel or zinc plating.
Yes, it is possible that you can use the plating of various metals such as nickel
