The worst part of this timeline isn't that it's another apocalypse, it's that Doc Mitchell cleaned his house.
That explains why everyone in goodspring is gone they grab all of Zach weapons then high tail out of there
probably some other survivors picked it clean.

Heh. I mean to be fair I do love the idea of the wasteland is so in disrepair that people are cobbling things together to survive, or it's a universal punishment to Zach that all guns he finds will make a gun maker cringe.
I agree that "cobbled together" firearms make sense and are a cool idea, but some of these just wouldn't work is my problem lmao. Like the fuckin GARAND SHOTGUN

This Courier is a independent/Mr house faction in fallout dust,after assist the NCR against legion ,the courier turned against them but unsuccessful,and they are now hiding.
If I had to guess? They’re likely in a different timeline entirely where that’s either Mike (he went insane, and the Mike we’re following is from a better timeline) or it’s just some random person.
Alternate universe where Zach made every wrong decision to turn the world into the DUST-verse.
I love that they gave Zach some starting insanity in DUST, because of his psychotic break at the end of the Marko questline- the teleporter monsters, the non-damaging mines and the Skeleton With The Head Of A Lady are all hallucinations brought on by the player character's insanity.

@@ce461 Eh... kind of but not really? There's a backstory of how the Mojave got like that, which is told through environmental storytelling, notes, etc. And there's the main (and only) quest of the mod, which is to escape the Mojave. Not really a 'story' beyond that, at least that I experienced, though to be fair I did give up playing DUST after entering the New Vegas sewers and getting absolutely trashed by super-OPed ghost people.

Zach’s character just looks like he bit into a sandwich, and it contains tomato despite him asking for no tomato. And he has to deal with it.

Zach is quickly learning why using shitty corrosive junk rounds may end up forcing him to clean his guns more often than he would like.
Given they're plying it the same as they always play NV, I really don't think it's going to matter
Depends on if he gets his Repair skill up ( If it's still up, he can just do it. ) - and he just breaks junk rounds down and uses the parts for hand-loaded rounds. Way better than junk rounds. Plus you can just straight up make ammo if they can grab a reloading bench - which Mike handed him a utility kit for that so he can just keep producing ammo out of the plethora of cases. ( That's why you find cases, primer, etc. They're trying to incentivize you to invest in Repair if you haven't so you can produce more ammunition out of all these raw resources you can loot. )

@@brianbrown3328 hard disagree. Frost is just a few years after the war, that's it. Dust shows significantly worse living conditions even though it's 200+ years afterward, that's how bad the Divide incident was for the environ.

It's probably a special military model seeing how its so fast.
I mean, mike had plenty of time to make those so that's why they're so great. The robo-body thing was a last minute idea before dealing with Marko so he had to work with what he had, a protectron. Though he did have time to overclock the protectron's movement routine so he can keep up with Zach.
I imagine making something like BUD-I or Daughters of Ares/Apollo work in Dust would be a nightmare and a half by itself. Though the idea of Mike stealing Fisto to replace his mortal coil is a bit amusing.
Even while stuck in a post-apocalyptic nightmare, surrounded by nightmarish creatures, suffering from numerous concussions, and struggling to survive by the skin of his teeth, Zach still finds time to complain about oddly/poorly made guns.

Have you ever used necromancy on a headless corpse? Especially one where the head is in chunks? It's gross, gets blood everywhere, the thing can't talk and worst of all in chunky form it doesn't work.
also you saw how great Zach's dabbling in necromancy went last time. reanimated mike would have probably just tried to kill him

I think in the lore of the mod the courier sided with Father Elijah at the end of dead money taking on all the groups in the Mojave with the power of the Siera Madrea but it can be rewritten

@@leatherhoff45 nope the NCR eventually manages to enter sierra madre and their reserchers lead by that one guy in the airport started taking samples of the cloud from the place and brought it into the mojave and a few years later the cloud somehow manages to hit the place due to the wind. And when disaster struct they blames it on the courier. When in truth the ncr's greed and inhumane experiments did it.

Well, this ought to be neat. The mod is such a ridiculous mess of difficulty spikes and bleakness, but I really do enjoy the idea of the setting. Excited to see where this goes.

@@chowellith there's some that aren't, the vast majority are though. I think there's a perk to make the NCR neutral to you but it doesn't actually work IIRC

Zach's in an apocalyptic hell! More so than usual! He's dressed like Malcolm Holmes and the only weapons are kit bashes or single shotguns.
I watched AlChestBreach have a run of dust when he uploaded it and he had a hell of a time with it, I wish you luck Mike and Zach more specifically to Zach because he’s the lone survivor in this as far as I can tell. Good Luck 🍀
Well zachs deck is definitely stacked, normal carry weight started with 500 shotgun shells and has a companion so i dont think hes gonna have half as much trouble as Al.

@@HonorableAssassins yeah thats true i forgot how much zach abuses stimpacks as well. Still they've been doing this for awhile and with just about every mod they could. Still at the end of the day the gameplay is secondary to zach and mikes reactions and banter.

7:45 Well, this isn't the place I expected to see- albeit very weird recreation of- a Shambler from the metro games. Its a very interesting revolver-ish shotgun, erh, in the Metro games anyway. This iteration is the alcoholic uncle of the shambler, I suppose. Fun to see.

The NCR is the one that cause it and this is only happening in the Mojave everywhere else is still fine

You've called a lot of guns garbage on this show, but that Dust Musket truly is one big piece of hot garbage!
The one thing that really makes me sad is that Zach lost his Animal Friendship Perk!
There are several mods that sort of piggyback off of this one.. Most are just stability modes and once for balance. While others elements of other mods to it. One of them being that you meet the courier and he'll actually talk to the player instead of attacking like all the other survivors do. With a few variations of him either being with the NCR, house, Legion, Independent, or there's even one where he actually siding with Father Elijah during the events of dead money. Which promptly resulted in a series of events that led what the current state of the Mojave in this mod.
I'm gonna curious what ma'am will be using you'll be using in this playthrough of if Mike's just gonna make a bunch himself.

This basically is, there really isn't much quest mods after new vegas bounties and well after new Vegas bounties 3 and the frontier I think they have come to hate quest mods like those where as dust is just new vegas without talkative npcs.
Hundreds of episodes and this might be it for new vegas atleast for them I can't think of much else as I don't have new vegas on my pc

Fallow NV Dust is basically if the Courier Betrayed the NCR after the battle of Hoover dam.
@@morganuhl9992 it's more of a which faction you chose or betrayed in the end, but the default story is six killed house and attacked the NCR in which the NCR retaliated and started making BS propaganda that the courier is a terrorist. but the thing is the NCR and Oliver are one of the many reasons why the mojave turned to hell.

when zach is alone, he turns insane. mike keeps him sane and gets the story on track.

I think the makeshift shotgun is based off the Shambler shotgun from the Metro games, because that was what I immediately thought of upon seeing it. At least before Exodus because in that game, it can be modified to have a magazine or be belt fed.

Oh the shotgun is supposed to be the shambler from metro series. It’s a wierd full auto shotgun that can use actual magazines, or if you’re stupid, have exposed revolver style magazines that you take forever to reload. Someone was probably going for that.

This playthrough should be a main playthru because I think being set back to almost square one would make this series more interesting so looking forward to it.
DUST is such a brutal mod. It takes Survival mode to a whole new level.
Weapon Repair Kit: Duct Tape, Wrench, Wonderglue, Scrap Electronics, and 2 Scrap Metal.

I actually started watching them after they finished with Marko but before they started dust so it was nice to actually be there at the start of a new chapter in their lore

A huge part of the Dust mod is the difficulty, so it feels really weird seeing someone play through this with 5000 stimpacks, huge piles of ammo, and 840 carry weight.
I like the idea that RoboMike has some kind of internal time machine or access to the time machine whatever it might be. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought about warning Zach of Brookshire's betrayal, only to think it'd be funnier if he didn't.
