I always sorta noticed it, but you can really see it here. Seth is extremly good at calling basically exactly the cards someone has based on their behaviours or signs. His game knowledge and intelligence are so good. It is one thing to call those things in like modern and other 60 card formats. However in format like commander where people just play random cards / efects, it is so much more impressive. Respect to you Seth. edit: loads of typos and wrong words

Though he said himself recently there are so many new cards these days that someone will say "What do you think about building a deck with x commander?" and he has to look it up.

@@RedMage95 I've taken to removal on a stick for this exact reason lol, artifacts planes walkers enchantments creatures if needed, w.e let's me have fairly reliable access to my choice of removal even if it's a bit over costed. also believe things that polymorph permanents or nonland permanents are better than just destroying things for 2 reasons, cards like open the vaults and triumphant reckoning get even scarier and you make you opponents choose between using their removal on your removal or on your threat. the exile enchants work as well (except against commanders,) especially when when they hit more than player/permanent simultaneously. hitting commanders is why I prefer the polymorphs over exiles though.
This entire game so perfectly encapsulates all of the reasons Richard's logic is wrong when it comes to removal and interaction it is comical. "Farewell and StP are bad cards, but also I will spend this entire game begging the other players to use those cards to save my bacon"
I think it's fair to say that destruction- and damage-based removal is bad. But you 100% should play StP, PtE, Farewell and a few other of these effects. This game shows why.
@@stevenyukabacera160 I refuse to believe that Damnation and Blasphemous Act are now "bad." If anything, I see Hexproof way more frequently than I see Indestructible in games of EDH. You should run both, tbh, but one game with an Avacyn does not invalidate damage/destroy based removal
@@stevenyukabacera160 Destruction based removal is just fine, so long as they are effecient enough. Blasphemous Act and Vanquish the Horde are both incredibly low cost so they allow you to easily follow up the wrath with another play.
Richard literally says that he doesn't need to play that much removal because he counts on the rest of the pod, particularly Crim, to remove problematic spells. Quit the internet gotcha crap. He has a bad take on removal for most people but it work outs for him in his playgroup and he not only acknowledges that, but leans into it. I don't understand why people care what they think is good. Literally just hear them out and see if that applies in your playgroup like everyone else.
in this game, a turn 3 Smuggler's Share would have produced: for Phil: 5 cards, 4 treasures for Seth: 9 cards, 4 treasures for Tomer: 9 cards, 4 treasures and a turn 5 Aerial Extortionist would have produced (without counting its exile ability): for Phil: 3 cards for Seth: 3 cards for Tomer: 3 cards

Rift only "buys you a turn" if you have nothing on board that doesn anything useful, oftentimes farewell will affect you negatively too, just to a lesser extent. Furthermore, if you cyclonic rift on the end step of that players turn they will have to discard down and have to spend an entire turn building up their board again with the 7 cards in hand, plus the tax they pay on their commander.
PRODUCT IDEA: I have a MTGGoldfish box and sleeves but I would WAY prefer to have some of the Brewer's Kitchen art on stuff. You could turn his cartoons into single panels and they would make great sleeves, shirts and game mats
41:00: Whenever we see a duplicate at my LGS, we just have that player remove it from the deck on sight, and sometimes they draw a new card to replace it.
Probably cleaner to play it as a basic land. No reason to reward mistakes like that as it's ripe for abuse. They're already getting the benefit of drawing the "real" copy first, instead of the basic first.

So in my playgroup usual rule is to put duplicate card into deckbox and draw another. Random card for random card seems fair enough to me and priority here speed of action, not justice. Because no one cares if you play with 99 card deck with slightly higher chances of getting card that no one bothered about, but never I have seen a person who wanted to wait those 3-5 minutes doing nothing in a middle of game.

You should make a T-shirt that says "Clash" and then underneath that put "On! / Off!" and when someone orders them, they can pick whether they want to circle "On!" or "Off!" Boom. Everyone gets exactly the "Clash On!" or "Clash Off!" t-shirt they want, and they feel more connected to it because they got to have a say in how it turned out.

That's the problem, multicolored is _supposed_ to be more powerful, but Wizards prints so many broken monocolored things that it doesn't work out that way.
I love seeing Angel Tribal Tomer! :) I have a Lyra deck, that has a roughly 90% win rate. It's kinda crazy how good it is. I did just switch it to Giada, which is fun but means the crazy amount of lifegain is less reliable.
Wow that was extremely frustrating to watch Richard complain the whole game about not having targeted removal to deal with a threat, then king-make phil after saying he wouldn't let him get away with it. Anticlimactic for sure.

I don't think so, the only way toxic deluge can kill indestructible creatures is by reducing their toughness to 0. Any amount less than that would still leave them on the battlefield with damaged marked on them since indestructible creatures aren't destroyed by lethal damage.
I cannot believe tomer is playing for so long and has 2 instances of flash in hand/board, but cant find the line to flash creatures in the endstep of phil. Crazy

In the bottom are our usual Goldfish crew (Crim included, Smash allows for 8 players), all already selected their character. Across the screen, like in smash when everyone has selected their characters, it says “Clash On!”. Intricate? Probably. But I think that’s pretty awesome.
Giada is cool gonna swap my danitha deck for her since i have sram, zurgo, and toggo/akiri already and think agels would be sick. Also I agree with richard 90% of the time but a path or swords would have been really big….i do agree path is better but i run both as well as oblation, divine gambit, and generous gift. Also always run 3 or 4 protection spells in white since it has the best 1 drop save your board instants.

I can't remember the exact misplay but I was against a storm player in a tournament and he either cast something he has already cast or had more than four copies of something idr exactly. In any case we just accepted it was a loss for him but still continued the game (I ended up winning anyways) because I had a 50/50 or something stupid Lifelinking kor spiridancer lol. He made like 40 goblins but couldn't find removal for spiridancer and I drew my unlockable card for the GGs. I won the match 2-1. Guy was devastated needed that win to be able to buy into the prerelease I finished top 3 and paid for his prerelease. I was just happy to be there and do well lol.
In my wipe/removal heavy Rakdos deck, I mostly hope to deal with an Avacyn (or similarly strong card) via Thieves' Auction, but if she's not the Commander I'd hope for a Hurl Through Hell. Such a reasonable card that once horrified me is now just another decent card, not even an especially good one (and one that is very solved by Thieves' Auction in a deck full of cards nobody else wants).
You guys should have an echo whenever someone says clash on in the beginning make more impactful. For merchandise plushie clash on your members collect them all. Or your favorite tribe lol birds 🐦
As a long time voltron player, Tomer's phrase "The best Avacyn answer is to steal Avacyn" hits hard. Tomer, you have Phil in the pod. Run Homeward Path EVERY GAME. FETCH FOR IT. TUTOR IT. It's not meta game, it's justice. Getting your stuff stolen every single game gets boring really quick after a while.

The last 20 minutes should not have happened the way they did. @theonlyfish king-made Phil in an immature bid to "stay alive." I wish the game could be turned back to 1:42:00 and we could see how the game should have gone without immature play patterns.
It's more than a bit frustrating to see Richard constantly shit on spot removal but yet one path, one swords, one vraska's contempt, or one anguished unmaking could have helped immensely with dealing with avacyn. Further proves the point that his logic on not running removal is seriously flawed.
Finally... a game I liked in months!!!! People played some answers, they turned tables from round to round, they didn't refuse to play cards they had in hand "because they were too mean cards" (cards that they put in their deck in the first place are intended to be played, not holding to them to avoid being a bad person). Still more spot removal needed but much better.

In my wipe/removal heavy Rakdos deck, I mostly hope to deal with an Avacyn (or similarly strong card) via Thieves' Auction, but if she's not the Commander I'd hope for a Hurl Through Hell. Such a reasonable card that once horrified me is now just another decent card, not even an especially good one (and one that is very solved by Thieves' Auction in a deck full of cards nobody else wants).

The white insurrection is approach of the second sun. You just cast it (twice) and literally nothing else that happened that game mattered.
The last 20 minutes should not have happened the way they did. @theonlyfish king-made Phil in an immature bid to "stay alive." I wish the game could be turned back to 1:42:00 and we could see how the game should have gone without immature play patterns.

So, turns out reading cards is really powerful 😂. It's a great finisher, but only if you know what it actually does,
It's more than a bit frustrating to see Richard constantly shit on spot removal but yet one path, one swords, one vraska's contempt, or one anguished unmaking could have helped immensely with dealing with avacyn. Further proves the point that his logic on not running removal is seriously flawed.

Finally... a game I liked in months!!!! People played some answers, they turned tables from round to round, they didn't refuse to play cards they had in hand "because they were too mean cards" (cards that they put in their deck in the first place are intended to be played, not holding to them to avoid being a bad person). Still more spot removal needed but much better.
