  • Countertop has been prepped with bonding primer and white epoxy undercoat paint by Stonecoat.
Next I applied blue iridescent craft cellophane with fast set spray adhesive, being sure to thoroughly secure all edges. (I apologize that I did not capture this part of the process on video.)
I followed this the application of spray paints around the borders, followed by a spritz of plain alcohol before the spray paint dries. I used a glitter blue, followed by a champagne gold.
I stopped filming, so you don’t see it, but I added some lavender spray paint to a few areas, and some sprinkles of glitter into the wet paint.
Blue Iridescent Packaging Wrap by Celebrate It
    3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive
    Spray paints used:
Krylon Glitter Blast in Sparkling Waters
Design Master Premium Metals Spray in Champagne Gold
    Rustoleum in French Lilac
A gold glitter mix (from an amazon assortment)
Be sure to check out the Phase 2 video, up next!

WOW.........Thanks for sharing.......Please keep it coming. You are so blessed! I wish I had your "work space" also. I'm using my kitchen as of now! :-(

Tammy Linner I’m honored, thank you! Well, I’ve been waiting for a space like this for years!! I was working in a very cheap, un-air conditioned basement studio, with dust and spiders, and even rats! 😱 But it was cheap. This spring, right before the pandemic caught fire and we locked down, I “fell into” my dream space, that would accommodate both my hair and my art businesses for less than i was paying for just my tiny hair studio! Suddenly I had no job, 2 rents (had to give 30 days notice so rents overlapped) and a security deposit! I thought I must be crazy, but I kept praying and believing and the signs kept affirming my choice. I DO feel blessed, and appreciate what I have, every day!

Well, dang! It was the video you just watched. I am so sorry. :( Perhaps I can do a short video (WITH voiceover) on a sample board, demonstrating how to do the cellophane. I shall put it on my To-Do list!

I can't find a product by krylon called fast set spray adhesive. Could it be the "super quick grip adhesive"? I don't want to use the wrong stuff. I'm well versed in using different chemicals and have had them melt stuff or strio the color away from what I was working with.

Mountainman you could be right. I apologize, I’ll have to check that. I just remember I chose to go with a “quick setting” version, so that’s probably it.
