How to Push Someone Away 101: Getting an ABANDONED child to meet with the person who ABANDONED them. To get them to meet with a parent that NEVER loved them in the first place. It won't change anything because when that parent messes up again, the child is going to remind themselves "Oh I was right, this person isn't my mom anymore. Never was."
The Mother ICED HIM out before he ever did anything to her. So how is that cruel for him to not want anything to do with her? She left him when he needed her most.
Man it sucks, I almost teared up because her SON appreciates him far more than SHE WILL EVER. But hes going to be pushed away, her son is going to feel that pain. The son seemed so happy to have someone to be there for him.

To force someone who was just released from prison and readjusting to society to meet a parent who probably indirectly attributed to their poor decision making skills and emotional trauma is crossing so many lines.
Then to not allow that person to have any time to reflect and soak in said confrontational experience by inviting that parent to stay the night is absolutely insane.
I understand she might have the right intentions but the execution, so close from being released, feels suffocating.
I feel like she is trying to tie up all his emotional baggage in a pretty box and say "okay all of it has been addressed, you can thank me and now live normal and be indebted to me. You're welcome" "

I knew someone around Bianca's age who also dated an older former alcoholic, but one who had been sober (allegedly) for years. She *also* had alcohol at their place because she likes to drink once in a while.
One day, she went to make a drink with the vodka she stored in her freezer and found it had frozen. In a completely normal freezer.
Turns out, he'd been drinking it and filling it with water.
Edit: Just wanted to say that he also lied about it and essentially gaslit her before eventually confessing. The lapse in self-control is forgivable in my opinion since she shouldn't have had it around him, but the lying is not.

When I was a child my mom was a drunk and let her boyfriend beat her up and us kids up. I haven't spoken to her in 7 years and I am so much more happier. I don't need to worry about her abusing or neglecting my son and I no longer have to let her manipulate me and mistreat me. If my boyfriend would have tried to force me to see my mother I would break up with them right there on the spot. Heck if my current husband tried to force me to see my mother I would divorce him. People don't understand the abuse I endured all because they had happy relationships with their mothers.

It would be an instant dumb and ghost if someone tried to force my mother into my life because they would literally be saying by their actions "I don't care about your mental health or safety, and I believe your judgement is wrong in the whole 5 minutes I knew you so I took it apon my ignorant and abusive self to try harm you again!." The relationship would be instantly over.

Zeruiah is so disrespectful and selfish. This type of people who cannot understand that others haven’t had the same conditions and families growing up just irritate me. She was the “outcast” (for not singing lol) in the family and now thinks that every family problem everybody has is at the same proportion as her. She wants to be the one who “saves him” and “reconnects him with his mother” not knowing she’s doing the exact same thing society did to him, shut him out. I hope he finesses her and leaves honestly this is so bad i’m livid.

That story is full of bad decisions. She’s a child. I agree with Po, she’s gonna blow through that money the minute Daniel is out. Especially if he begins using, which he will, because she’s not going to offer a home environment that promotes sobriety.
If she couldn’t tell that her friend was drunk before this accident a year ago, how’s she gonna know Daniel is clean! I’m still tryna figure out how she thought she could assign him a time to call her when he’s in PRISON. Then get mad at him for not being there for her driving back to the accident site ALONE when her friend told her not to go there by herself. Yep. Child.

One night when I was in my 20’s , I came over and knocked on her door bawling and apologizing cuz I remembered it. But she didn’t remember it . All she remembered was the times I took her swimming and did fun things with her . Whew 😅. Always keep promises to kids tho . Many adults broke promises to me as a kid and I still remember it at 47 🤣. But now I understand why they didn’t keep the promises cuz they were tired from working/ adulting 🤣
