You have to love Keinath for his uniqueness and style in an era when everyone's form is converging into basically one with minor variations. His admirable performance here shows there is a lot more to table tennis than just having textbook forehand and backhand strokes. Sure maybe he is losing out on a lot of efficiency in his movement, but being unorthodox is a power of its own!

Nah, sweet words to tell he only can play ping pong, not table tennis.

i believe that a lot of people here thought that Thomas Keinath have a weird movement or skill, but the reason why he is on pro table tenis is maybe because of talent

To all the haters of Keinath: Do you know that he nearly cannot hear anything? He's nearly deaf. And thet's why he cannot control his movement with the support of sound...

I played with him 15 years ago in NY. One of the nicest guys out there. Also, he puts an insane amount of spin on the ball.

I wouldn't have any chance against Keinath, but honestly... If I could could choose between playing like myself or playing like Keinath I would chose myself any day...

Thank you, I had no idea he had a hearing disability, maybe thats why he has a seemingly inefficient stroke mechanics. Sound is a big part of table tennis, maybe those people leaving comments about his technique can try to play with ear plugs and report the results?
Next time I am headed to my local club, I will be taking ear plugs with me ;-)
