To Moo Cow, I think you might be a little bit confused. The bible does not give the genealogy of Mary. Christ is from the Holy Spirit of God thru Mary. He does not have an earthly father. What you are reading in Matthew 1 is the genealogy of Joseph the earthly adoptive father of Christ. The pedigrees for the twelve tribes and others are all laid out in the Old Covenant and are confirmed through the Law of Moses.
