  • Lightwise #009 | Quality of Courage in Film and in Life with Jim Caviezel from Sound of Freedom
    #childtrafficking #soundoffreedom #jimcaviezel #angelstudios
The story is the film industry tells stories which support all matter of causes, yet there are some stories which they seem to steer away from, including the life of Christ, and on the other end of the spectrum, exposing the evils of human-trafficking. Yet brave people like actor Jim Caviezel have tackled both subjects. Today we discuss the “Quality of Courage in Film and in Life.”
Jim Caviezel is an American film and TV actor who has starred in hits such as “The Count of Monte Cristo” and “Passion of the Christ.” In 2022, he starred in Sound of Freedom as Timothy Ballard, the anti-human-trafficking activist credited with saving thousands of trafficking victims. The film is currently in theaters.

Wonderful interview. I really appreciate your gift of active listening and empathic interest, and allowing the guest to speak freely without frequent interruptions. Kudos.
I love Jim Caviezel. The Holy Spirit exudes from him plainly in his candor and love for Christ. I've heard people talk of him disparagingly since he sometimes speaks haltingly, sometimes weeps when talking, and of course, because he is a beacon of light in this world of darkness lovers, and that draws hate from those who are by nature haters. To his critics I would say firstly the man has had serious physical trauma. He was struck by lightning on set and suffered much pain and many medical problems because of it, and that no doubt has affected his demeanor. Have some empathy.
But much more importantly, he does not just give lip service to his Christianity. He knows Christ loves him and he loves Jesus back as hard as he possibly can manage. I know from experience that just the thought of that profound relationship can bring tears to your eyes as it passes through your mind in conversation. He was asked why he is so outspoken about this love affair, but the love itself is the answer to that question. Trust and faith in Christ banishes egoism, selfishness, and fear of the world and man and sets your priorities on what matters, that which is eternal. And that translates as courage in a society filled with fearful non-committed people content to remain silently on the fence because they've let themselves be convinced by the dark forces to think it's "safer" not to get involved.
God bless you, Joel, ... and Jim: march on, brother, His light shines brightly through you. 🤟

❤@ Caliburnius: Love your comment. Agreed. Very insightful. People of today are so accustomed to automated/falsified responses, that they are impatient and incredulous to authentic responses/statements. Their arrival to the truth of a matter depends on their good will toward the truth, or their bad will to forsake the truth for some lesser reason.

The whole world should be praising Jim, Tim and every single person that made this film happen. They are warriors of God doing His work.
Sadly, we live in a broken world corrupted by evil. We mustn't let satan win.

Jim is so right! You don't want to treat little children with the way Human Trafficking treat them! God sees every thing that is done to precious children!

He described how I feel about this movie EXACTLY. I'm afraid to look because it's too dark. It's too terrible and knowing it's real makes it so much worse. I don't want to know about the red line for fear of it ruining my round of golf. But not looking doesn't make the danger less real. So I guess I'm headed to the theater.
P.S. Joel, you SCOUNDREL! It's good to see you! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this podcast!

Well I think we are born with the good and the bad within us. Question is what way we turn to. That's what your lifelong struggle is, to go the good way is often full of pain. I think God is not deciding for us, we have to live with the evil too and do the right thing. Most people don't wanna look at the bad, because if they do it is real and you can't forget or deny. And then you on the beginning of a path not many people want to walk. I'm glad about this film, it's horrifying but it will start conversations and hopefully people will take action. Put yourself mentally in the place of the victims, you don't want that for your children. Something has to be done. Good interview thank you...
