Another lovely video. Good to see the dry fly action has started. I just want to say that in all your videos when you want to show us the fish, you lift it up as if to show it to the camera on your hat. But you always lift the trout too high so we cannot see it at all!! Best to just hold it out in front of yourself - don't lift it up. The camera is already angled down and has a good lens to see whatever is in front of you but as soon as you lift it up, we cannot see it.
George, I love your videos. You are a very charismatic presenter and your productions show Irish trout fishing at its best. Honestly though it would provide a great example for others if you developed your fish handling skills a little bit. This is not a complaint.(God knows, we all have room for improvement) but simple things like using forceps if required, clearly wetting hands and using barbless hooks (I don’t know if you do or not? ) are kind of the way forward particularly when the river environments in the country are already under such threat. We have to lead by example or else we have no grounds for complaining about the behaviour of others Only a fool would deny that there has to be an increased mortality rate after fish release so I think it’s really important that we do everything we can to minimise damage. Thanks very much
Well George how are ye just a quick question for you I’m tying flys the past few years but mainly for stocked trout but want to get into the rivers in your opinion if you were suggest a few capes for tying drys what would the be any advise much appreciated and some laugh with the recent pike videos do be cracking up here washing them 😂
George is it possible to purchase your flies anywhere? I had to stop fly-tying myself and would like to get hold of some of your patterns eg Shery Spinner and Sparkle Dun
Great bit of fishing George, Trout look to be in fantastic condition, beautiful colours and markings, The Ol Sparkle Dun covers a wide variety of flys,
Nice fish'n and stream other than those humongous weeds i dont think you could pull a fly upstream you would get hooked alot. Are they natural or comin off the farms into the streams.
Great fishing, well done.
Thanks a million..

Grizzle saddle and Cree saddle, maybe black also, probably no need for anything else for river flies, glad you enjoy the vids..
You must be doing something right George ,you seem to be catching a fair few fish . Great video as usual, keep em coming 👍🏼

Just curious why don't you ever use forceps to remove the fly ? Wouldn't it be a little easier instead of trying to use your fingers ?
I sometimes do..

Pretty fish and lovely water. The #2 and #3 weight have become my favourite rods for stream fishing. "Light as a feather', as you said.

Not much, 7x mostly.
How is the pup doing this offseason??
Taking it handy..
Casting could do with bit work. Remember, dont just make half a cast. Good tip from good old flip
Perhaps you might make a vid showing us how to cast correctly?
What a feckin ejit George!😅
Your casting is always superb
