Nice video. Is that a Blanchard pricking iron? Isn’t it a little bit hard to punch through the leather with a pricking iron? They are meant to be used for marking and then use an awl for stitching. It just feels like it would be better to use a french style stitching iron that is sharper and have more narrow profile of teeth, these are meant to be punched all the way through
Yes it is, I’ve tried a lot of pricking irons , but eventually I choosed this one, yeah sometimes I use it for just marking like you said, it depends on the thickness of the leather I use. Personally I think there is no correct or right way in crafts, so I’m trying to find my own way 😉 I appreciate sharing your idea with details, Thanks have a good one 👍
