  • Check out the Thinline Tele Vintage Modified 72 by Squier.
    For the first time ever, Squier introduces a Vintage Modified Telecaster Deluxe guitar armed with Fender-designed Wide Range humbucking pickups. An acclaimed and time-honored Fender innovation, the Wide Range humbucking pickup delivers incredibly full tone and lends even more vintage-style authenticity to this model. Other features include a maple neck and fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and vintage-style tuners.
    Players have done it for years. Whether installing hotter pickups, different pickguards or just plain personalizing their instruments with distinctive paint jobs, modified means adding new twists to familiar designs. Squier's Vintage Modified series excels at just that, imparting hot-output chop-shop sound, feel and value to traditional instrument designs.

    Might be buying this one soon.

      I assume Squier are now making this model again. I bought one a year or so ago. Really wonderful. Faultless build. Great tones, action etc.
      Squier have really 'upped' the quality of their instruments recently.

    I had two thinline tele's - both made in china if I recall - or maybe one was from Indonesia
    - the one with a Fender decal had a bolt on neck - the Squier Standard had a set neck - huge diff ! !
    - Duncan Design pickups seem hot if you're used to Affinity cheapies but the DD's sound too grainy
    - try an angled Hot Rail bridge humbucker in a Strat or Tele - beats the HSS + HH layout - although the Fender Wide Range humbuckers are GREAT - you only need one at the neck or middle - never lose the angled bridge pick up ! it won;t sound Fender and it won't sound Gibson

    Wow!!
    Just wanted to know, how much does one cost??
    You might have mentioned it but I maybe missed it.
    I have an American Pro 2017 but I was an ash body Tele and this one with the hollow section is so nice.
    If I ever get the money or can find one for trade I may put up my Ibanez JS100 for one, I know the JS is a great guitar but I love my Telecasters and until this one i have not heard one which was not made in America that I was totally impressed with.
    But this is a exceptional musical instrument.
    Still would not trade my American Pro that guitar is my baby and pride and joy but wow this is a dynamic and decent instrument!!
    The only thing is I like the barrel saddles but other then that!!

    How does Squier Vintage Modified Thinline compared with Classic Vibe Thinline?

    • @AldoMarceloBenitesPalomino
      @AldoMarceloBenitesPalomino 7 років тому +1

      The deal is on the pickups mostly, while Vintage Modified series uses Duncan Designed, Classic Vibe is a little more "classic" and is mostly based on Alnico V pickups

    • @Frank-in-NY
      @Frank-in-NY 7 років тому +6

      The Neck too! Be sure to compare. I bought a CV Thinline, loved the light weight and the tones I could get out of it. I could make it growl, or sound quite mellow and jazzy. But the neck...way too thin, I was missing chord fingering, and eventually my hand started cramping up. I had to let it go. The VM 72 Thinline has a Chunkier Neck, works for me. I have one on my wish list. Also the CV Thinline is made in China, the VM 72 Thinline is made in Indonesia.

      @@AldoMarceloBenitesPalomino actually, this VM does not use Duncan Designed p'ups. They use a company named G&B from Korea, which does pickups for PRS, Schecter and others.

    Great playing Sam! Sam this guitar looks like the chocolate-colored single-coil Squier thinline only with humbuckers. I wonder if the necks are similar? Have you ever seen the older model? The reason I ask is they have the older one on sale near me.

    • @outtolunch88
      @outtolunch88 6 років тому +2

      I know it's been a long time, I just picked one of these up second hand. A steal.
      Back in the early 90's I played a Thinline (neck stamped with 3 Dec 72) through a HiWatt DR504. The Thinline was stolen almost 20 years ago so I can't compare sound beyond nostalgia. I somehow still have the HiWatt.
      I just put a Gotoh C102 (10.5mm spacing) on the Squier to align the strings a bit better than the stock Fender bridge, but I can say the feel and finish on the Squier is outstanding for the price. I used to joke about playing the Rickenbacker and wrestling the Tele. The new one, set up properly is amazingly playable.
      The high-end Squiers are fantastic value these days and the build quality is probably better than late CBS made in America.
      I understand there are some differences between the new and old WRH pickups, but to my tinnitus ridden ears and the passing of time, the new ones are PRETTY DAMN GOOD.
      Anyway, did you get an original '72?

      Try with different guitars. You shouldn't need a new guitar just because of hum, especially one so similar to yours. Check your cables, power, and amp.

  • @estasmanos

    I am torn between getting this one or the 'Fender Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe', I must admit I am slightly gravitating towards the Fender rather than the Squire (I wonder if this guitar, being a Squire, sacrifices any quality), so can someone share their opinion with me?

    • @draganm7823
      @draganm7823 6 років тому

      Mauricio Elizondo Modified had Duncan design pickups while the Vibe has Alnico design. The Fender Modified is made in China and the Squire is made in Indonesia. The Vibe is a heavier guitar, Indonesian and Chinese quality should be pretty close, I lean towards Indonesian but it's a toss up I think. There are also Mexican versions which I think are not as good as the previously mentioned even though the Mexican ones are more money. Unless you look at the USA made Fenders, which are big bucks. Either way all very nice guitars. Did you buy one?

      it is not the pickups but the pots, which are the only upgrade this guitar needs along with strings (it brings 9-42 out of the box), this guitar works its best with 10's or 11's.....the issue with the knobs is a certain lack of matchin' between pickups and pots, it is not what an issue, it is a cheap upgrade...nonetheless, it's great out of the box...i actually love this alnico wide range pickups.....
