  • Subject: 2015 Squier Thinline Telecaster; Objective: the owner wants to upgrade and modify several components of this guitar: swap the pickguard, neckplate, electronics, pickups and address the sharp fret ends. After all of this done, I will do a complete setup to make this guitar sound as sweet as it will look. Too many jobs for one video so it will be in 3 or 4 parts... enjoy!

Ive moded out my thinline tele with a new bridge neck and la brea pickups. I love it. But I've always wondered if I should change the electronics too

Do you think it was a good economic decision to upgrade the low end guitar vs buying a US or Mex version?

For electric I've had better luck with low end (pawn shop or squire - donner esque) guitars, and just adding to them. The wood is a choice to you, I personally only go for weight and feel for electrics, then the electronics are fully up to you. I've saved thousands by upgrading the cheap stuff.

Depends- this guitar was picked up for next to nothing so even if you put $300-$400 into it, it is still much cheaper.
