I feel like Celine doesn't get enough credit for her runs. She's not a Tori Kelly doing super long runs with lots of notes as much, but they're super clean and she know when to throw them in to give more flavor to a song.

which Vegas concert? I was lucky to see the 1st one 3 times and the second once... it helps to know people in the business wink After I saw her in A New Day I thought she had become a "legend" in my opinion. Few have the voice, the charisma, the stage presence and the showmanship.

This performance really is a must. It is so rich with vocal moments to analyze. An A cappella intro (where she pushes slightly sharp) but is so contained in her tuning. Incredibly well sustained belts. Some of the smoothest melismas and transitions throughout almost every register. @@Garthofficialmusic I actually heard her sing this LIVE. It was her CALL BACK at the end of her concert!!!!! She is a power house! There are funny anecdotes to the recording, it was filmed for a TV special so the audience was forewarned they might have to redo some songs or portions of songs. If you look around the 2:45 mark, you'll notice Celine walking back... they had to redo this section for her to be on the right spot for lighting... just before the crazy riffing and sustained notes... the audience is heard cheering as they KNEW what was coming again... she sang this live many time and at many concert... a vocal beast !
Listen Celine’s 1991 “Can’t Help Falling In Love” live performance should be studied! Still gives me goosebumps!

React to what I consider to be one of the greatest vocal performances of all time by anyone, Celine's version of Calling You, live in Paris. It is sublime.
I have heard her sing that live and before the "95 live À Paris the arrangements were different her she use to add an ascending run that was sooooo high! But the later arrangement had more sustained belts and hard for me to say which one I preferred. She is MAGICAL

I didn't know she was sick on the day of the Olympic Performance....I loved that song better than the official Olympic theme that year "Reach." The way she effortlessly slides up on the line "And every boy and girl, as they come into this world" still gives me chills

I think people have a tough time emulating her voice. It really changes depending on the era, while still being her. A lot of the vowels and nasal tones are way more subtle than we hear when people try exaggerated imitations of her voice. In the 90s and early 2000s she was much more focused on a cleaner sound, but especially in the 2010s and onward she goes for a grittier, vocal fry sound a lot…And in Vegas she used a lot of saline humidifiers which kind of changed her sound too.
You should react to her Paris 1995 performances - Le Ballet, Priere Paienne, and Le Blues Du Businessman for sure. And Le Ballet 1997 Memphis is good. There are so many iconic performances. 1991 Juno Awards Where Does My Heart Beat Now

"Calling You" from the Bagdad Cafe, also in the live tape,... is also profound. Remember that English is not her first language. Some of her intonation comes from that.
