@@Sorrowfax ooookkkk it’s a campaign that takes place in frozen wasteland of mystery and ancient treasure. Comprised of an archipelago of small islands with port cities. No one ventures too deep into the fog ridden landscape for fear of running into the many hunted and twisted things in this barren battle scarred terrain. Rumors of immortality and the guardians that protect it still bring in many adventures who seek to know the real truth and history behind the mythical battle between the demons and angels that shattered this entire civilization nearly 1000 years ago. Now only a shadow of its former glory, a half sunken angelic structures still comprise the cities of the islands. Governed by bigoted poor humans who are still clinging to a broken region of angel worship but the madness of the land and the years of war against the demons have made the once glorious angels into dark beings not to be disturbed. It’s a dark tale and it’s a beautiful song to listen to while in the story. Thanks 🙏 again for the song and for thanks sharing your interest in our story.
I feel like there is an early 80's movie that didn't get finished that this belongs to. Really love your music, you tap into something that just transports me to a different world, and its incredible.
i read like a third of it like 15 years ago, I was already thinking about getting around reading the later stories. it is pretty cool to be made aware that there are still people reading that stuff.
Best experienced sitting in front of a crackling fireplace, staring out a big window while a blizzard rages outside....Then suddenly you hear a heavy, desperate knock at your door.
Started reading the Bloodsworn Saga recently. This fits right in with images of exhausted Vikings sleeping on a rocky beach, grim mercenary bands where getting your ass kicked is part of the initiation, and treks through wild lands in search of the gods' graveyard.
Just found this while searching music at work, gotta take a deep dive to the channel to find some great pieces for my campaign to play! The sounds and atmosphere is awesome with this album.
Ordered the cassette before I even got through the first full listen lol. Perfect for the frozen, Canadian mid January feel that I am going through right now. Had to get my hands on a copy of it physically.
This is absolutely amazing. I've been searching for music like this-dark, atmospheric, winter synth with elements of nature and human sounds-but I found nothing else like this. This is a true gem. Thank you for creating it. I'd love to hear more tracks like this!
Thank you for uploading all this music with the OG cover art. Your the only dungeon synth channel i can find without any AI art on it, and i really appreciate that.
There is this interview with Tolkien in which he says that you have to give the readers some relief after putting them through a gruelling journey. I tried to keep that in mind while making True North.
I am going for a brain scan this morning 😂 The machine that creates the image if the brain is rather loud and so to alleviate the discomfort of the machine the technician places headphones on the patient to help distract them from the noise and the clostrophobia of the procedure. Wish I had a cd of this to help me trip away fhe 20 odd minutes of the procedure. God bless to all 😂❤❤
Your brains must be in the bucket since earphones would interfere with the electromagnetic fields used in most brain scanning techniques, such as MRI or EEG
For too long I've been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I've been starving to death and haven't died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman's flesh...
I wish this would have come out when I ran Icewind Dale Rime of the Frostmaiden for my DnD group! Definetly gonna save this incase I ever run Icewind Dale for some other group in the future!
Agreed, looks especially bad since this is an estabilished artist with great, popular (in dungeon synth terms) music. He could've chosen/commissioned a proper artwork but chose AI, giving the album a feeling of cheapness. Presentation is fundamental and AI is like showing up at a party wearing tattered rags.
You are poverty shaming. Some people are poor and can't afford to commission art. Should these people just not have pictures to go with their music? And some kids only have dirty or torn clothes to wear to school, which can be traumatizing, so I really don't like your rags analogy either.
I love this! I'm reading the comments and feeling exactly like everyone is describing! I'm new to this kind of space, can anyone recommend some movies that share a similar feeling/theme to this?
Please people, you are listening to 90 minutes of top notch music for free. The artist is a musician and not a painter. Are you here for the cover or for the music? After spending the free time he has to bring you this for free, do you expect him to do something thats not in his line of work, and spend even more time drafting a cover, or pay for an artist out of his own pocket? I get that there are legitimate arguments for not using AI art, and sure thats fine, having a debate is good. However there is no need to bring such anger to the comments of a small artist that has voluntarily brought you great music. Maybe next time one of you critics could draw the album art, and we could enjoy both the music and the genuine cover art you are looking for. Anyways, thanks to Ziggurath for the great album!
I'm a fan of your stuff, Honestly Tales from the Southern Realms is quite spectacular. I'm liking this alright but I hope in your upcoming work you'll dial it back on the sound effects or have them sit lower in the mix. I know, Opinions are like assholes but some of the effects, although germain to your themes, their volume break immersion as oppose to enhance it. I have always enjoyed your note choice and voicings. Have fun making your work and maybe don't listen to people like me.

who did the cover art?
Just in time for the deathly temperatures my city is experiencing as of late. Now it feels like an epic adventure! Be well, now!
Soulless AI generated art kills any interest in your music. Sorry not sorry
Really so atmospheric! It turned my subway commute into a dark odyssey into the frozen wastes.
I see them as the same thing.
@@Blisterdude123Ha, very true.
Probably didn't need this soundtrack to do that
@@viscountslappy5085 I was on the Seoul subway. Outside of rush hour, it's pretty nice.^^
The opening passages sound appropriate for standing on the platform, awaiting the train to get you OUT of the station, unseen by certain folks.

You have cool friends
I'd love to hear about it. No joke.

The thing with AI art like this is that it wouldn't be that hard to photoshop it to look like real art. But no one ever does! Ethics aside, of course.
Most people using AI art probably wouldn't know what mistakes are present nor how to fix them.
