Basically they liked the Rivian better. That tells you a lot right there.
Took advantage of the tax credit for 2021, got Rivian for 2022 tax credit, and sold the Lucid for profit. All around smart financial decisions.

Thought I was watching a video about the Lucid Air and realized it was a video about Athletic Greens.
The actual reasons are not about the car itself.
- car prices going back down, maximized sale for trade
- want for a truck to move a/v gear
First gen vehicle…will be many problems and recalls 😯
Why I sold my lucid Air - this is my take before watching the video: seeing how you cycle through EVs like changing phones, it's not surprising you're selling it since you just got your Rivian and still have another Rivian on order. Pretty sure you still have a Tesla too haha.. At some point it's hard to justify having so many cars when only 2 are driven
He's a youtuber. Selling and buying the latest hype is a benefit to his channel content.

He buys, tries and then reviews, he's not doing this for fun, but for his channel and audience, if you're salty that he can do that then start working
@@haruyanto8085 no no he didn't buy this one to review it. He specifically bought it for the long term, but as he said he fell in love with the Rivian. Also turned out to be an appreciating asset so he rightfully capitalized on it. No one is salty here, I don't know what you're on about
Yes, having a car like this does kind of trick one into being a brand ambasador. Sometimes it can be a little awkward. What I'm _really_ tired of is people driving w/ one hand and swerving while trying to take a picture in freeway traffic. Not that often, but often enough to get under my skin.
Not only that but it is overpriced, expensive repairs, unreliable and ugly
@Jonny it is very harmful to the environment from being mined from a donut media episode I watched, and even so evs don’t get good range or have good value
Love your honesty and straightforwardness. Rivian does have a winner if they can solve their manufacturing problems and get ramped up. We are getting an R1S, hopefully soon...

The rivian is so nice. I figured you'd love it, anyone would. After driving sedans the switch to a truck specially an electric one is a hard experience to turn down.
If Lucid made a pickup truck, which one would you pick? Rivian or Lucid?

Aww. I'll miss seeing the Lucid here. I get what you mean though. If I could get my hands on a Lucid GT-P I'd probably use it for longer trips and joyrides. I'd still use the bus for everything else to avoid drawing negative attention to myself.

I have a Tacoma. It’s practical. A truck is needed for a family and home owners to haul whatever whenever. You don’t need a full size truck. Mid size like a R1 will do the job. Get a truck.

Here's a better reason. I'm done making videos with it. Gained some followers and views because not a lot of people have it and also owners aren't making videos with it.The Lucids job is done. You sold it. Also since Rivian is a pickup truck you can register it as work vehicle and save tax + EV tax returns for 2022

Maybe Your next car in few years would be Lucid Gravity? Big suv, for sure much better software than Air, even better battery - soild state?

Why didnt you get the EV van if you need more space from the start. Even model 3 is so small inside. Comparing mini cooper to accord and complaining about less space is dumb. Why did you get lucid in the first place then
It’s an amazing car , incredible motor and battery design, all let down by huge software issues, lucid please give your software team a kick up the ass , they are letting down the brand
I bet, like all manufacturing companies that are not "tech" (since they all have tech) focused, probably has a bare minimum software development team. Not only that I bet majority of them are contract hires and not even full time employees.
Tesla had and still has issues it will be fixed
Remains to be seen since we won’t know much for at least a few years and actual production numbers…it’s an unknown at this point

I did a video of me getting the car, i did videos of my experience and updates since having the car but I didn’t mention i was selling cause i thought nobody would care….. LOL
Long story short you could get a profit like the rest of the people selling their used cars. You and the wife were self conscious driving it and yall liked the Rivian R1T yall got more.

I’ve never disliked a Jon Rettinger video, since 2008, it’s just a bummer that we won’t be getting anymore videos about this car, and one of the reasons being because of flipping.

I’ve checked out both and i would take the rivian every single time. It’s just so good and so practical. Lucid feels like a half assed effort whereas rivian feels like a well engineered product.
Let’s face it. I think Americans don’t buy as many traditional cars vs. crossovers/SUVs/Trucks

@@vickydada5595 agree with range. The front can grow on you. I will say I’ll take Rivian styling, front included, over Lucid air egg shape any day. I understand the aerodynamics. It’s just not for me. If I see a Lucid on the road I will admire it for being electric but I’m going to be saying wow, look at that… ugly thing. It’s all subjective.
Hey, here’s to an awesome comment from you about range. I think folks that say range like 500 mile+ isn’t important are drinking too much Elon cool aid. Yes, you probably don’t need it daily but when you do, it’s a pain in the but, especially if you’re traveling with a group of ppl and they all have to wait for you to charge.
f150 lightning seems like a better vehicle. Established brand and it's lighter

I canceled my Lucid Air. No need to get attached as the software is half baked and I have no desire to be a beta tester. Might circle back but most likely will just keep moving on.

I was thinking the same thing. Far less range (274 miles with the 22s vs 471-520 miles on the Lucid) Yeah I get the practicality part but aside that, the lucid is literally, in every way, better.

Why get a Lucid Air when the Tesla Model S Plaid is out there? Plaid is faster, more polished software, and has access to a better charging network.
Lucid has more mileage per charge, it’s faster charge, better screen… 2 different cars and people hate on Lucid
