@rosse6705 went to see Paul Smith in Blackstock Market last year. It was brilliant to see so many places coming alive again after decades of negligence. To a lesser extent, the same is happening over in Birkenhead, too. Walt Disnet was correct when he said build it and they will come. It's just a shame we've had such political incompetence in this country from all parties who couldn't see anything of potential.

I remember visiting Liverpool in the mid-2000s and was thinking the waterfront has so much potential. It's amazing to see developments like this. The UNESCO status didn't provide jobs, regeneration or improvements to the cities infrastructure. It should be seen as no great loss.

As a lifelong local Liverpool FC supporter I think it's great to see another semi derelict listed building in the northern docks being restored and put to good use.
I'm not sure an 80 bed hotel will have enormous benefit to Everton Football Club but the regeneration of the surrounding area definitely will and Bramley Moore Dock and Everton's new stadium will be at the heart of that. If this is the catalyst for even more restorations and developments it can only be a good thing for the city.

It will be used for corporate ticket buyers. as Kirkdale is slowly regenerated, lets not forget that Walton will be severely run down without the Toffees being there. County Road wont be the same, The Royal Oak The Winslow Hotel and The Black Horse will really struggle next season. The three pubs should have talks with a bus/coach company, let the fans do their usual match routines around Walton, and hop on a small fleet of buses 3/4 hour before kick off.

I was born 1941 and grew up in 5 Blackstone street. This site is the exact place where my house was - I have photographs of myself and my siblings taken on the steps of our house - we were rehoused in 1957. I think when the site is excavated that our fire grate might still be down below in the cellar. My sister planted the rose bushes on the site x

    Hi Nick.
Thank you very much for this update. The whole stadium project at Bramley moore dock and the surrounding area is going to be a massive benefit for the city.
Everton Football Club are just not building a new stadium, but they are changing the waterfront and landscape of the surrounding area, which the whole city of Liverpool are going see massive investment over the coming years.
A long time ago now Everton built a football stadium Goodison park that changed football and how it was viewed.
Now, Everton are building a new stadium at Bramley moore Dock, which will change how Football stadium's are built in the future .

Been thinking this for a while now...
I think it would be brilliant if they could position a projector on the West roof, that projects the Everton crest onto the water canal below...
It would look magnificent at night...
Also if we are playing evening matches, they could project the crest of both clubs onto the water below, which would be great for visiting fans and clubs alike...
So many options such as when we get back into Europe, tributes etc...

The land value around Bramley Moore stadium 🏟 will rocket once the stadium opens. There's loads of unused or derelict warehouses and industrial units. I suspect the area around Bramley Moore will be redeveloped, much like the Baltic quarter. That area will be unrecognisable within the next 5-10 years. It's ripe for redevelopment.

We nipped into the BM pub for a quick pint, and the lady serving was the only other person in the pub. She informed us that it had been due to close until the new ground was announced. My cousin's son worked on the stadium a year or so ago, and just on a Friday the pub was really busy on a Friday night, just from the workers. Not just on match days, but also with concerts etc, it'll be a cash machine for the owners. Good luck to them.

I'm a long suffering Evertonian (since 1955!) living in Townsville Australia. Watched this one with great interest. Liverpool Waterfront has changed dramatically since I left in 1968. (How many goes did it take to get the Pier Head right?) This video got me thinking. Could this be the start of an extension of the waterfront all the way up the Mersey ending with a view of New Brighton? I think Everton have selected the exact right place for the stadium. Sorry to see Goodison go and it will be very interesting to see what plans they have for it. But it is old, and last time I went there the view wasn't the best - even from the corner members box (thanks to me brother's mate) And we lost! Looking forward to more. Cheers.

Great news Nick if it goes ahead according to its original plans and it preserves the existing warehouses buy I can't help being very sceptical of property developers who are renowned for moving the goal post once on site .. ie those old warehouses might allegedly become structurally unsafe and need to be demolished and replaced with a cheaper new build ..this happens all the time with developers or it will mysteriously go on fire and be demolished as unsafe ..but let's hope these developers can achieve their promises that would be great.

It would make sense that a Travelodge or Premier Inn is developed in the area as there is already the premium Titanic Hotel nearby. Relying on public transport to avoid providing adequate parking is a real cop-out and should not be allowed. The developers should be made to include basement parking in their application, where possible, although I accept this may not be possible with the listed building. Alternatively a nearby plot of land should be purchased by the developer for a dedicated carpark. There certainly seems to be enough derelict land or land with derelict buildings available.

    • @DuncTheBlue1878

Even if the land nearby is derelict, it still has an owner who will know very well how much land prices have risen in recent years because of this magnificent new stadium and Liverpool Waters on the way.
