Look how many years later and this video is still helping people ! I definitely appreciate it I know that ! Thanks bro ! Your someone who actually gets it , knows how to do a real walk through . Thanks again
I know its been awhile since you made this, but it still very usefull. Just wanted to give you some well deserved credit for a great video, used it to build the rear CVD's for my 1/10 Summit.
Just installed these last night. My axles break brand new with one throttle pull and braking 2-3 immediately. Front and rear are different kits for the stampede 4x4 vxl. Great video!
Hi, even if your video is over two years old, it really helped me puting them together, for the front and the rear, I broke one in the rear of my P4de and decided to replace them by something that wont break anymore, I was a bit surprised to see that the front has different bearings than the rear.
Great video very professional with all the info I need for this mod my truck is only 2 months old but bought 4 stock axels and got 2 from traxxas and only got one left ...might as well swap em out. Again thanx for the help Jim
Great video. My only issue with these vs the Traxxas metal axles is that the MIP has no rubber boots protecting from dirt, sand, water etc.. I am a nut with my Stampede VXL . I use it in every terrifying condition :)
When you put the Thread locker the parts didn’t bind up because when I put the thread locker on my mipP axles after 10 minutes of driving I cannot move them you have any ideas
I got these driveshafts and they’re nice and beefy but 2 of the joints don’t rotate that well. Is it just that I didn’t grease it? Do you need to grease the joints and the middle connector piece or what? Just need a little help and man if I could get these driveshafts to roll well, I’d be so happy!
@@jasonmoretski6910 i’ve had some experience with them now and you can do things such as put wd-40 in it and run it for a little bit and that will help, or if you have a tall car such as a stampede like me, you might have to lower your suspension.
You have to grease the joints. I would grease the shafts too. Without boots youll need to regrease them every run if your in water or samd. Im new to rc, but ive worked powersprts my whole life and it all works the same.
Hello, nice video. I am having problems with these axles. wondering if you are to. at 12:06 on the video you install the 12mm hex. The little grub screw doesn't‘t hold the 12mm hex very well at all. What happens is the 12mm hex eats my bearing on the out side of the carrier.
+Craig Poer Yea, the grub screw has to be pretty tight. Have you tried using thread lock? Another option is drilling through the shaft and using an HPI grub screw.
Be VERY careful if you use Red. I had to buy a complete new set because I used red loctite on the grub screw for the hex nut, and even a soldering Iron isn't getting that puppy off. So, I can't change my bearings or replace the bearing carriers with my new aluminum ones... I'd stick with the blue stuff.
do u know the part number for these mip cvds?? my hobby shop has these but it just says slash 4x4 and rally 4x4 just wondering if these are also compatible with the stampede 4x4 vxl even though it doesn't say it on the package
AbuseRC that's a thing. if I have to shave any part of the steering hub, it's a wrong part. RightNow I have MIP in the rear and Traxxas heavy duty in the front. but thanks though

Most detailed vid I've seen so far...thanks for the walk thru!
Glad to help

My hero!! Thank you for making this video!!

Glad to help.
Just bought these for my rustler 4x4 vxl.
Okoboji Duggy have a pair coming for mine tomorrow. How did it install on your rustler? Any issues?
@@jman7770 just soak in brake cleaner and use locktite. Shouldn't have any issues
Def going to upgrade mine, broke the rear yoke on mine. Great Video!
Thanks so much! this helped me with my Rustler 4x4 VXL!
does it fit the rustler 4x4?
you are awesome - thank you!
Hey man that so much for making this, it was super helpful.

That's the way to run these trucks! Awesome man
Ever since installing these MIP axles my rear tires are not lining up. They have serious toe in or whatever. It’s not adjustable either
My traxxas upgrade shafts broke on wet grass, at around 50% throttle, traxxas needs to up their axle game..
When you put the Thread locker the parts didn’t bind up because when I put the thread locker on my mipP axles after 10 minutes of driving I cannot move them you have any ideas

I think you used to much tread locker I Have the same problem

These things are a pain in the ass to put on should have just bought the traxxas ones.
thanks man..great tutorial
We’re do I grease it at
Great video!
Thanks
After I installed the mip drive shafts to the rear of my slash 4x4 my test tires are toeing inward any thoughts or solutions?
Good video but when I drove mine just now, it had a clicking noise when I turned idk what’s wrong with it.

Can white lithium grease be used?
hi, do you put oil or grease in carndans?
Hi. I do if I plan on running in wet grass or sand/mud. Not so much on tarmac.

AbuseRC hi I know this is daily old now but to save the bearing you must ensure you re I stall the Teflon washer between the bearing and the hex.
Great video thx!
great video!!
+Jody Reed Thank you!
Have u had any problems with the blue thread backing out the screws?some one told me to use red loctite...
Zero issues.

+Ben Pyka Sure. Part 10132.
+AbuseRC 10132 = front. 10130 = rear
I'm assuming this install video is good for E-Revo with the same MIP product?
Very similar
I just got mine. the front kit don't fit my RMP steering hub. any suggestion sir?
What kind of vehicle you working on?
AbuseRC slash 4 by 4
mm I didn't have any issues with my Slash 4x4. Can you shave a touch off of the steering hub?
AbuseRC that's a thing. if I have to shave any part of the steering hub, it's a wrong part. RightNow I have MIP in the rear and Traxxas heavy duty in the front. but thanks though
vuthina roeun, you're gonna need to shave them down or the MIP's will do it for you.
do the insides get dirty and bindy like the stock ones?
+mike zilla If you run in the sand they'll get dirty but I tend to clean them pretty often. They will rust so a little wd40 is great
ty.
What kind of grease do you use?
A grease similar to this. I grabbed one from Lowes. www.homedepot.com/p/Super-Lube-3-oz-Tube-Synthetic-Grease-with-Syncolon-PTFE-21030/202932687
do these work on slash 2wd
They do, but I use the stock drive shafts (on 3s) with my 2wd and they've never failed.
Are these CVD's waterproof?
Sure. Just spray them down with wd-40 after your run so they don't rust up.
How well do these work on a 2wd Slash? Do they bind much?
I haven't used these on my 2wd Slash. The stock shafts hold up well. It's on the 4wd models that really need the upgrade.
AbuseRC yeah but my 2wd isn't stock. Need something stronger.
These are extremely tough. I've had zero issues and I've had them for at least four years now.
get mip race dudies for 2wd slash
I run 2s on side winder 3 6900kv I twist the fuck out of the axels
Less is more when it comes to threadlock, grub screw not hex nut, and torx bits are not allen keys.
hes ising a torx adapter lol
MIP is overpriced garbage.
Markus SO what is better than this? I keep breaking my plastic drive shafts .
