It’s hard to believe you’ve been posting for over a year, you’ve come so far! It’s nice to see the train again and the new roof’s SNOT technique looks really smooth.
I did think about that while designing it (and I believe it’s a technique other builders such as Trace Pierce have used) but I didn’t like the shape it created as much as using the 2x2 modified plate. It would’ve made for a neater edge so I may try it in future
I think the more modern windows make a lot of sense the way you have them as I just started learning myself that the train windows are quite expensive as I’ve tried to finish a few of the original 2001 expresses I’ve come across in a few bulk lots I’ve got during the pandemic.
It’s a shame because for this kind of build they’re the perfect shape, if I can get some then I’d like to swap them out, I just think it’s not sustainable if I end up making more carriages.
@@dunkandeggbricks if you find them you could either just have them along one side or have different carriages to match how there seemed to be different class interiors too!
Thanks! I did consider that when I first build the carriage, but as those windows aren’t made any more I decided to use the new ones as the cheaper option - the old ones do look better imo. If I change my mind in future at least it’s just a straight swap as they’re the same size!

I can’t believe it either! I’m super happy with the new technique, I’m sure I didn’t invent it but it works perfectly
I would suggest using bracket pieces for the side of the cheese slopes so that the bottom grey plates wouldn’t stick out

Awesome work!
Thank you!!
Really nice, love the interior! Have you considered to use the train windows with the rounded corners instead of the square ones you halve now?

Do you think you can do the Hogwarts Castle
Why did the word CRACK pop up on the screen
Haha my voice cracked and I thought it was super obvious! Wishing I hadn’t pointed it out now… 😂
