It seems the kids that grew up playing with Transformers, have grown up to become RV floorplan designers. I was excited about the hidden room, until I realized it doesn't have enough weight capacity to hold the dead bodies. For the love of cheeses, by the time you add enough solar to run the stove off grid, you'd hardly be able to add a pint of milk and a sandwich. Kudos to Forest River for trying something new, but I betcha ya ain't gonna see it on the same platform next year. Gotta love your honesty on pointing out the negs along with the pros. Thank you for being you!

I really like that it's a dual twin (without head-knocker bunk above)!! So incredibly hard to find other than bust-the-bank Airstreams nowadays. Bunk slide is interesting.
The payload is deal breaker imo. If I was to camp when needing to bring full fresh water, leaves literally 100 lbs for cargo, food, supplies. Complete and utter failure in design.
Thanks for the great perspective and time spent showing everything off!

Wow, it's amazing that you get all of this in under 24 feet. I like the twin beds and wish more manufacturers offered this option. The portable speaker is also very nice. The biggest drawback I see on this model is that a size 10 shoe will not hold the hidden door open 😂 . You were on your A game today, and thanks for a great review.

  • @pennylynch4471

All the windows are amazing! They make it look some much bigger, and all the natural light is perfect.
I think the hidden room is great, I'm a fan of versitility. But I think it really needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. While the fan in there is loud, it would be excellent white noise and would block some of the outside noise.
The bedroom really needs that window coverage, it seems pretty tight, esp in king bed mode.
2 sewer outlets? It seems like they could have done something about that. We've seen larger RVs with a single outlet.
It would be interesting to see a comparison between the basic stick and tin vs the premier/black label/upgraded edition. Of any RVs. Not a dual review, just a quick walk-thru pointing out the differences.

This is kinda cool in a weird sort of way. I would love to see one exactly the same without the bonus room/slide. Keep the visible stuff, the tv setup, and cabinets. With the single/twin beds, this would be an awesome solo camper. Now that I've watched the whole video, 420 CCC??? WOW. It really needs to be a tandem axle. If FSX division isn't allowed to do it, then it needs to go to one that is.

I have last years model. Before the end of the summer the hidden "door" already started to sag and rub on the floor. I removed it and just put in a really narrow shelving unit and a retractable mesh pet gate, since I use it for the dogs. That room also get very hot if the door is closed, so I switch the fans around so the top one blows out the hot air and the bottom one in the TV cabinet draws cool air from the floor in and added some small 2" round vents to the sides of the cabinet. Now it stays cool. It is amazing to have a separate area for the pups, so they are not always under foot in small space like my last camper.

Hey Josh, I love the layout of this one. Although as it is pretty much perfect on the inside because I like the twin beds and I really like the possible office space being that I’m a travel nurse. I totally agree with you that this thing looks freaking amazing. And I do agree with you that the cargo weights kind of suck. And if I had my magic wand, I would put another axle on it. That would make sense. Might cost a little bit more, but my guess is you could probably add more weight to the cargo. But overall very few grips and moans. And yes, I would love Jayco or somebody else to take a stab at this as well. Great video, buddy. Keep Rockin it Josh

Things I dig a LOT: short RV, light, bedroom/bathroom layout, big TV space, couch only (no dinette). I like the idea of the twin beds with the front half of the mid-mattress in use, would allow of bit of (somewhat awkward) cuddling, our dog to get around, and could be converted to full king if need be.
So take this concept and run! Things this armchair RV'er would like to see tried: get rid of the slide, make the couch longer, long enough that it could sleep a 6' tall adult as a skinny twin WITHOUT having to fold out (maximize durability and comfort!). Give me a better sink, add a proper oven. Sacrifice a few inches of living room/kitchen to get full length beds. To accomplish all of this, move the entrance to the rear center, so the whole thing becomes one long hallway. Put the kitchen sink next to the shower (moving the couch and TV to the back) so it could all be plumbed together (eliminating the 2-headed sewer monster). And I don't think I saw, but is there storage under the beds?
Rear door opens the opportunity for a fold down patio. Combined with some clever engineering, could call it a pseudo toy hauler, shoving some kayaks up the long central hallway?
And a dual axle... just makes things feel safer in the event of a blowout and give PLENTY of weight limit overhead :D

There is enough room for his and hers hanging cloths and enough room for drawers for clothes. Just would like a little lighter, put my SUV can pull it. Remember you want to pair a vehicle/trailer based on both of their MAXIMUM weights • aka the vehicle's max tow rating vs the RV's max weight rating (GVWR)
People seem to want to pair the vehicle tow rating against the RV's minimum/empty weight. You want max-to-max not max-to-min

This is a Fantastic Concept with plenty of Desirable attributes.
    And although I LOVE the
    -widows
    -split bedroom concept
    -multi use slide
    -the look
    -rear Kitchen
The concept has been utterly & completely applied to the wrong class of Camper?🤨
Give her another Axle, double Azdel, Aluminum Bones & call it a day!
Think this concept on Heartlands North Trail line would kill it! The Wide Axle stance they have might even allow for small slide on the Camp side elevating the tight feel a bit.

I like the concept of this floor layout. I am not a fan of the twin beds fitting up to the walls. I imagine that the beds are hard to make and/or make straight and nice. A two headed sewer monster is not a highlight. I feel that the one axle, one propane tank Travel Trailers should come standard with an electric space heater. Maximize the propane for cooking. FSX is a funny sub-division of the "Wildwood" family. Historically they were not allowed to make 2-axle RVs unless it had a ramp door/toy hauler function
The "Wildwood" and "Wildwood X-Lite" family is actually a separate division and basically FSX was only allowed to make "styles" of RVs Wildwood/Xlite wasnt
That has changed recently. FSX can now make non-ramp 2-axle RVs but they have to be different from whatever WW/XL is doing
It's weird and 100% NOT obvious to a customer

I’d get some of the portable tables for eating, rather than those swivel things, because I could use them as extra counter space, and they could just stack somewhere out of the way when not in use. Not great storage, with the trade-off between cupboards or windows. But I really like the window for the kitchen area.,
    It’s definitely something I’d consider. #nerdherd .#rvnerdherd😊

I kinda feel the same. I often point out nitpicks like outside speakers or missing trash can spaces
But.. I can deal with that stuff. I'm not super picky _overall_ about the RVs I would personally use. There are a few though I've looked at and just been like "man.. for me.. that's a stupid camper" lol

    • @TanyaRando
      @TanyaRando 14 днів тому

@ the one thing I do know, is I’d bloody love one!! Hubby, daughter etc, their idea of camping is a b&b🤣, but my son and I, with the grandkids, we’d definitely use one. I’d let him drive, I’ve never pulled an RV but he has. After tent camping since I was a kid, and his wild camping with his 2 eldest, a basic camper would be luxury, so I look at these videos and critique the vans, as how I’d ideally want one, but also if I have anything negative or positive to say about them.
I always try to comment as I think it shows appreciation for what you’re doing, even if it’s only a few words #nerdherd #rvnerdherd

Well first I am single and looking for small 1/2 ton towable and sometimes may want to have my sister come with so may have only one bed not really wanting to sleep in the same bed so love the split beds. The slide would be nice to have storage and tv to the back of the slide for more space when opened but don’t need extra bunks. All that but it still has me interested because it is the only split bed I have seen

I recently came across an older model that I really liked the layout and was wondering if anyone else made (or even better, makes) a similar floorplan? It's the Highland Ridge Open Range UT2510BH from 2018-19. I really like the private kids and parents room, and the relatively small size/weight. This one reminded me of that, except for the open front bedroom and unusable cargo capacity.

But some folks may see that as cargo space and THAT could be an issue

I really want to like this RV TT. But the low CCC is a big drawback. I'd have to get a good look to see what weight I could shave off. Because it's about 500lbs light on the CCC. Granted, I can put that weight in my vehicle easily enough.
So, I'm reserving my review until I can get a look and give my 10lbs in a 5lb bag review.
HOWEVER - I will say that there is potential. Thanks for the video walk through!
