i started to go to comps again after covid (3 years since the last comp) and during one of my solves i did this oll (i remembered it through the years lol), and my judge who was a kid who probably started cubing during the lockdown just got amazed and asked me to teach him this alg, it really felt so good feeling like an og cuber lmao

It's been a long since I watched this video but I have to come back to it to say thanks. 2 situations where this works great: the mirror version of the OLL and to prevent U turns to get the regular OLL to the angle of execution

the E perm alg you use can be broken into 2 OLLs (the headlight case where the yellows are sideways and another one idk how to describe). but you probably already knew that

This alg is so smooth and fast. It’s bascially the opposite of a G perm but an OLL if that makes sense.
My main alg
Here are a bunch of alternate PLL cases that are mostly created by adding moves to the more simple PLLs:
F-perm too hard? Hold the line of 3 correct pieces on the right side and do this: A J-perm with 2 sexy moves instead of 1, then do sune.
T-perm too hard? Of course it isn't, but here's a pointless and alternate algorithm anyway, hold 3 incorrect pieces on the right and do this: A J-perm with 3 sexy moves instead of 1, do sune, U prime, then sune again.
U-perm too hard? Of course it isn't, but here's a faster one that I actually didn't know about and a lot of people already use it (I know 4 different ones now), so hold the correct edge in the back and do this: sune, U, antisune
J-perm too slow left handed? Hold it in the same position (4 correct pieces on right and back sides) and do a T-perm with a U2 instead of a U' when the f2l pair is being hidden in the front right slot. You'll have to take a pair out and put it back in like in the Y-perm but it's still worth it if you have a super slow left handed J-perm. Don't forget the AUF though, I +2ed a solve that was going to be my PB
Need yet another U-perm? Hold the correct edge in the back, start a Y-perm and do a U2 instead of a U prime. You should have the P shaped oll case so do U prime, F inverse sexy move F prime, and then a U prime AUF
This is OLL and not PLL, but for superman with the corners flipped wrong, I have an alternate algorithm. (WARNING: this is a bad algorithm and you'll probably need to replace this later on in your cubing career anyway) hold the wrong corners in the back and do this algorithm that is very easy to learn to do intuitively: [R U R'] [U F U' F'] U' [insert pair] [L' U' L U'] y [insert pair] y' U [insert pair]
Fun fact about Waris Ali: First American to have a non-lucky sub 10 on 3x3.

I do something similar to that with the A perm. I don't know why but I've always done my A perm with top of the last layer facing me
I use the first part of the E perm to do the peanut case OLL

Obviously the Waris one! All about the style points.
Though, it isn't a 7 move comparison if you factor in the AUF to do the normal alg.
Still, realistically doing the normal alg is probably better. But I enjoy using this one a lot haha.

Hi Chris, I just ran randomly into this vid. I just wanted to say that, in fact, it's not only fun and it can be even faster to use this kind of RUD variation instead of the RU standard alg, sometimes.
Like when you are solving your last F2L, RF slot, and you have the edge done and the corner in RUB pointing to the back, instead of the usual R U2 R' U R U R' which seems perfect, you can do R' D R U R' D' R which coule be faster (no double turn) after some practice.
And the same concept apply on some corner OLL, for example x' R U R' D R U' R' D' instead of R' F' r U R U' r' F.
Also, this RUD style OLL remind me one of my favorite OLLCP i found out many years ago :

It's a pretty good algorithm. Good enough that I use it, but bad enough that I use it only for FMC.
Edit; meh I just use it to prevent pre-AUF. The rotation needed makes it useless for FMC.
lol. But you do realize it's the same algorithm done sideways, right? For FMC you wouldn't need to rotate.
