long sword is not a good wepon against armor there is no way axe could spllit a helmet, also axes were not good at slicing, they were good chopers long bows were not good at piercing armor crossbows didn't shot faster then a bow poleaxe would not pierc armor effortlessly flail is not versatile wepon morning star would never pierc armor
