  • This is a tutorial for a Basic Spiral Friendship Bracelet. This bracelet is created by a series of forward knots, the result is a spiral pattern that twists down the bracelet. This is a perfect project for beginners. Learning the forward knot is the first step in creating many different types of friendship bracelets. Fast, easy, and inexpensive!

when I started looking for a tutorial on how to make this bracelet, I quickly found that the majority of tutorial videos didn't start at the very beginning, left out steps, or were just way to confusing and hard to understand. Thank you SO MUCH for making a tutorial video that includes ALL the steps and is easy to follow. Thank you!

I totally agree with Rebeka Gordon. I learned to make these bracelets 25 years ago and haven't continued making them. But I want to make some simple spiral cords to replace ties on two beautiful blouses from India, the style which has two sets of ties at the neckline. On both the two different tops I've bought in the past two years, one of the ties has unraveled and there's no way to fix it securely because even the plies in the string have unraveled. I know how to make twisted cord because I've done that as part of knitting projects more recently, but I was afraid that sort of cord would unravel given that the cord that did unravel looks like it was made that way. So I wanted to make something like this, a skinny spiral cord, and these very detailed instructions were perfect for refreshing my memory. I'll just have to figure out the proportions to make my cords somewhat longer than a bracelet, but that match shouldn't be all that difficult thanks to the detail hear about using 50" of floss of each color you're using. And I love the idea of working on a clipboard so the clip part can hold the top end of the project in place! I really didn't want to tape anything to my antique kitchen table as the finish is messed up enough already, nor put holes in any of my clothing with a safety pin if not necessary. Even a tiny hole can contribute to formation of a larger hole depending on the age and sturdiness of the fabric.
      Anyway, thanks!
