All I care about is that it focuses when in stills mode. Don’t care about video auto focus. In the past, I think when they messed with the video side, they ruined the still side!

tracking is better for sure, but boy do I hate the focus transitions on fuji... so annoyingly jarring, never the less, they improved, and hopefully they will continue to do so, since the X-H2s deserves it!

@vukhuat4251 maybe, I am wrong, but the background didn't look like f/2.8 to me. Besides, the test was also in well-lit conditions. Definitely, I am still struggling to decide whether I should update my firmware. Due to atrocious autofocus experience (not only in video, but with photos too!), I use my x-h2 for some manual focus macro photo/video only meanwhile
Is 1.4 aperture how you usually shoot video? isn't it too blurry for full body shots? I find that a bit unpleasant for video unless is a portrait shot or something like that.
@@DuanVanSchalkwyk statistically much higher failure rate and bricked cameras than doing it by memory card. This has been common knowledge across all camera brands since firmware via app has been an option.

You can adjust that. Mine was always smooth and subtle when using AF
@@Eyeofkamau you can, but it's not always smooth for sure, never had a shoot when every focus transition is smooth in my 2+ years with the 2s.
Very impressive, which lens and setting did you use ?
I used the Fuji 16-55mm. Filmed at 55mm and f2.8 with 4k 50p. AF settings: Tracking and speed +3

What lens did you use for focus testing? It looks like you set it like for F/1000! No wonder everything is in focus

How are you getting the AF to find you when you return to frame from completely leaving frame? Is it on face detection?
Yes, face detection is on, but eye detect off

FUJI - Focusing, Ugly, Jumping, Irritable. It's a shame that Fuji can't do anything. But it's not realistic to sell the equipment. Nobody wants it.
