I think it is amazing that you were able to realize not only that others don't come from the same walk in life, but the reasons why you were unable to realize that in the first place. This is something that I wish so many physicians that I work with took into consideration.
Hi Andrea, I am a 19 year old italian girl and in the first year of medical school in Germany :) I rediscovered your channel after a couple of years. I just want you to know that I remember watching your videos and think "this girl is amazing, I really look up to her" Ciao, Val :)
+Andrea Tooley Can please interview someone in sports medicine and ask them how to become assigned to professional teams I've been waiting for this for years! Thank you!
+Andrea Tooley Are you made of chocolate?? seriously, you're very pretty. I'm the IMG that moved newly to US if you still remember my email and promised you to meet someday.
Thank you for giving a realistic approach and view to medicine. As a 2nd year medical student who worried in my childhood due to impoverished parents about "where we were going to sleep at night" thank you for bringing that up. Many of my classmates are not like me. They have had it pretty easy. I have not... and it REALLY does mature you. Maybe more than any other profession. Thank you for being real... in ALL of your videos. Keep it up. You are an inspiration to me-- an honest, compassionate MD.
Thank you for your comment! You will certainly make a fantastic physician with the life experiences you have had. I am sorry to hear about your childhood, but I'm sure that you will use that to connect with your patients and ultimately help many people :-)
Andrea, I'm in my 3º year in medschool here in Brasil. Something that I notice and never imagine is that how the difficulties of a medstudent are the same, even if we belong To so different countrys. Congratulations on your channel! It really helps me, especially when a I need a moment To "relax". 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video Andrea. I definitely agree with you. I'm coming towards the end of my first year of been a Dr. It can be very difficult and frustrating at times but I am so grateful for the priviledge. As you said we have to always remember the patient is our main focus. Also definitely be kind to your self. When we are kind to ourselves we become a better person towards our loved ones and also our patients. I am so grateful for the priviledge of been a Dr. I also want to be an Ophthalmologist :)
Totally LOVED this video, you are such an amazing insipiration for me, I am going to start Med School next year and your experience has helped me a lot to understand what I will be going through in the future.... Thank you!
You remind me so much of someone I know but I can't quite put my finger on who and it's been driving me nuts! Aside from that minor thing, I have had an absolute blast watching your videos! Thank you for dedicating precious free time to delivering such helpful, fun, quality content! :-)
Hey Andrea! Thank you so much for making videos interviewing different careers! I love them so much and I truly get to know the careers a lot more than what I can find and read online!! So I was wondering if you could PLEASE interview an anesthesiologist because I really want to found out more about the job and what they do on a daily basis, how demanding the job is, how to get there from high school, and just the overall details of the career!! Thank you so so much and I hope you can make a video on this!!
A video with a neonatologist or a neonatal nurse practitioner would be awesome :) and I loved this video, I love when we get to see the opinionated side of you, the real you :) thanks for the video
Hi Andrea! Love the videos! I am applying to medical school, as well as getting married. I'd be interested in the thoughts and feelings your husband has about you being a resident, and how he copes with your busy schedule.
Hi Andrea!! This question actually has nothing to do with this particular video (although I loved watching it on my study break!). Can you do a vlog about how comparing yourself to your classmates during medical school and the unspoken "competition" in med school? I'm in PA school and the cattiness has been unreal... but any tips you might have for dealing with not doing as well on an exam as you had hoped- or not doing as well as your friends did.. etc.. that would be great :) I think I just need reassurance!
Jordan Bicher I can definitely relate to this. Do you tell your classmates your grades? My classmates ask sometimes, but I definitely do not always want to tell them.
Andrea would you please interview a Podiatrist!!! I am going to start school this August and I think it would be really helpful to find out some information and recommendations on this regard!!! Thank you!
OMG i used to think that medicine was the last thing i want to study ! I love ur videos so inspiring and helpful thats so much . I really need ask you about some stuff but i don't know how? I can't find ur email or anything
Andrea, your videos and consistency are seriously amazing! I know that you are into health and fitness, wondering in your experience and personal opinion, what are your thoughts on a vegan and/or plant-based lifestyle. I understand that the unique lifestyle of a physician-in-training may present unique challenges, such as long hours with few breaks, etc. Also, what led you to get most of your notes, eg. how you decide what notes to keep and do you regret it? I just feel bad spending so much on my education, then not being able to reference back to it later. What are your thoughts?
Great video! Keep up the good work! I am just curious about one thing. Regarding the question of what if the patient couldn't afford the prescription, what was your answer at that time? Would your answer be different looking back at the scenario now?
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us and motivating us to fulfill our dreams! I have a question, how do you deal with rude , supper worry and anxious patients?how do you make them calm down even for a little bit? and there's always something i wonder about...how do you make patients into trusting you and telling you the deepest secrets of their own?"conversation starters" ... Thank you!
Hey Andrea, i am going to be giving my step 2 CK in a few months, any advice on what i should do? i know everyone says UWORLD/ Master the Boards, but anything else looking back you wished you had gone through or done?? thanks!
I was I bit surprised when you mentioned that you studied abroad in undergrad. How did you manage to get all of your science credits and still take an entire semester off? Is this something that is feasible for most pre meds? Thank you for the great videos Andrea. You are so inspirational.
Hi Andrea. I'm an undergraduate student about to go into my junior year. I want to get some real experience in the health care system, so I was thinking about becoming a certified nurses assistant. Is this something that will give me a good understanding of medicine, and will it be useful for gaining experience.
I think it is amazing that you were able to realize not only that others don't come from the same walk in life, but the reasons why you were unable to realize that in the first place. This is something that I wish so many physicians that I work with took into consideration.

Absolutely love your videos!
How much time per day did you spend on extra or non-compulsory study in pre-med/med?
"And sometimes I get frustrated with patients who aren't using their eyedrops like I tell them toooo" LOL.
Can you please talk about how long a Cardiothoracic and Orthopedic surgeon has to go to school for? Thank you!

Great video! Keep up the good work!
I am just curious about one thing. Regarding the question of what if the patient couldn't afford the prescription, what was your answer at that time? Would your answer be different looking back at the scenario now?
I was just about to ask because I would like to know her response to that question too

Can you show us all your notes from medical schools? To see how much reading medical students do.
She showed her notes and in depth outlines of her notes in one of her study related videos. She also stated she threw majority of her notes away.
