Yeah true, watched it the other day for the first time. Didn't know Ryan Gosling was only gonna be in the first half or so, it went a bit off the rails after that. This scene really is so cool though..
The whole thing was a masterpiece. It just sucks you get attached and then have to get over it, but that's an integral part of the plot so it works out.
Movie just needed to be edited differently , think the Tarantino approach if we would gotten the gosling part divided into 3 segments and the second half of the film divided into 2 segments and then edited together and not knowing what happened to goslings character until the last scene woulda kept the viewers attention throughout, instead it feels like 2 different movies , Luke goslings character is so captivating . Editing coulda saved this film from being a hidden gem to a great masterpiece
@@joeyclemenza7339 Yes, I've thought the same since I first saw this in the cinema at a pre release. I knew they had made a memorable iconic music scene that would stand the test of time in my memory of great use of music in cinema history
This sequence was a great example of showing the joy, or the "rush", before the inevitable crash and collapse that's already set into motion. The mistake a lot of crime movies, drug movies, etc make is either making the whole thing hellish or miserable, or otherwise an overly joyous "rebels against mainstream society" ride, when the reality of of most of these activities is that there is a period of pleasure and feeling like a god before the storm clouds roll in...this film captured the whole thing expertly.

this is easily the most memorable scene of the movie.... whether it's the song... the jubilation of successfully pulling off the first heist... ryan gosling swaying the dog from side to side to make it look like it's dancing.... ben mendleson reacting to it? this is the scene that for me sticks out the most!!!/ when discussing avant-garde indie films with other like minded cinephiles..... if this movie comes up, I IMMEDIATELY start singing "dancing in the dark." seriously... this scene is just so damn memorable!!
I agree, the intense buildup and the immediate success afterwards with some Bruce Springsteen music thrown in was great. You almost feel like you are apart of the ride and can relate to a couple of guys just wanting to break free and feel alive.
First time i ever watched this scene it was like i had a splurge of dopeamine hit my brain instantly! It made me feel happy and excited at the same time and put me on to bruce springsteens music which i now love! So dope! i love it!!
I was watching the movie with Director commentary and this scene wasn’t scripted. The director said on the spot Ryan Gosling put in Bruce Springsteen’s tape and started dancing
Makes you wonder if this scene was all improvised? Can't imagine in the script it said: pick up Chihuahua and rock it back and forth while listening to The Boss.
The moment i saw this scene I knew i was going to love the rest of the movie! Ben Mendelsohn plays the best grease ball cooler than a fan character! Ryan nails this role too! Whether it's riding a bike or driving a getaway car! LMAO.
Watched this movie the other day for the first time and it brought a smile to my face when i heard this song since I listen to alot of 80s music. Perfect scene/brilliant movie
U gotta love it. Sticking it to the very system that kills the human soul everyday. The average working class man and woman have struggle day in and Day out just to make ends meet, live to work and end up broken down old people who no one wants anymore. So it always puts a smile on my face when the underdog gets to take BIG BROTHERS MONEY 😂
Yes, I heard he even went on to release his own cover version of this song ... 'Dancing In The Bark' but after that his career tailed off. I'll get my 🧥.
That screaming he does in the van after the robbery is letting go it's knowing after that it's life in prison but letting go of regular life I wish I could have that release every day and a little light on the bank robbery celebration boys 🙃
First half of this movie is a masterpiece.

COOLSHOWLUKE that’s a great idea!
Now THIS is how you use music in film!
it really is one of the ABSOLUTE BEST needle drops in film history..... it makes the scene so damn memorable!!!!

This scene introduced me to Bruce Springsteen's music
me too man ! haha
Same!!!

Ryan is good at playing parts involving violence and then tenderness (dancing with the dog), no doubt.
Martindyna yes! His character in Drive was the same
same in "only god forgives"
This scenes so badass and funny at the same time puts a smile on my face ☺
The way he shimmies with the dog it’s hilarious

I can't stop watching this scene.... and I can't explain why..
same for me - plain awesome
It’s the Bruce Springsteen
It’s the dog
Dude i know me too, it like gives a me a high or something. Just pure happiness its weird
The reason is Gosling dancing with the dog
First time i ever watched this scene it was like i had a splurge of dopeamine hit my brain instantly! It made me feel happy and excited at the same time and put me on to bruce springsteens music which i now love! So dope! i love it!!
Same Here
Same here! Looks like they truely were having a blast making that scene
Beautiful scene

The greatest scene with one of the greatest songs
Brilliant song usage... makes an upbeat song seem so ominous.
That’s Cianfrance + Mendelssohn + Gosling + Bruce... And that equals some serious fucking magic.
Badass and cool at the same time. Awesome scene. Salute!
... One of my favourite scenes in Cinema history
This part single handedly made me like this song.
This to me is my favorite part with the jamming of Bruce Springsteen! The dance man with the dog haha
Makes you wonder if this scene was all improvised? Can't imagine in the script it said: pick up Chihuahua and rock it back and forth while listening to The Boss.
This movie is epic
My dogs favorite song
the best scene in recent history
Gosling dancing with the dog with this dumb grin on his face has me rolling.
The moment i saw this scene I knew i was going to love the rest of the movie! Ben Mendelsohn plays the best grease ball cooler than a fan character! Ryan nails this role too! Whether it's riding a bike or driving a getaway car! LMAO.
Those two need to make more movies together. Perfect combo!
Como me gusta esta escena!!!!
Such a great movie

I love the song
Great scene
Esta escena quedara enmarcada en la historia del cine!!
Best scene
Luke and Jason is the best part of the movie
When the stimulus hits.
Great scene.
Ryan is so good at acting my out “normal things” like dancing with the dog and the interaction just seems so genuine, not like it’s in a movie
Luke is one of the best written characters in cinematic history imo
The scene is a mastepiece
This film had a really solid cast.. obviously Gosling Cooper Mendelssohn Liotta Mendez..
Wholesome
And I still agree

I have this feeling after winning a big bet
I wish the movie was set in the 80’s instead of the 90’s.
The dog went onto big things
Underrated
Yes, I heard he even went on to release his own cover version of this song ... 'Dancing In The Bark' but after that his career tailed off.
I'll get my 🧥.

ɷɷɷ I Have Watcheddd Thissss Movieee Leakedd Versionn Heree : - t.co/RlKbv1hghK
what i like more is they portrayed Robin as a killable character. but the one who died in the middle was the mc lol
This scene makes me feel like im rolling lol. Straight endorphins. So weird
Dog’s spines don’t bend sideways people - please don’t do this with your canine friends when you’ve had a few and you’re listening to Springsteen!
Dint be apussy
Shut up
This version is the same of the album or what? I need to hear it complete
They really ruined this movie after Luke was killed..before that it was beautifully done.
adrenalina
cocaina
Eroina
No antojen :P
everything i listen to Dancing in the Dark i see Ryan Gosling dancing the Dog.. its not helping
Even if you're just dancing with your dog.
Dog oscar nominee
This is why I dropped out of school. True love and you know his character didn’t make it past the 7th grade 😂😂
I guess was improvised
Idgaf anyone who gets this quick cash 💰 when u had shit 💩 is gonna dance like this…..
I need a dirt bike
The real Ken and Barbie right here lol
Doggy
Non pensavo ma lo metto tra i miei migliori film in assoluto😢
