Their documentary was outstanding. Documentaries are so often these days made to push a specific viewpoint. I’ve never see one put the best possible version of the opposing arguments besides their documentary Stars in the Sky. They put the arguments against hunting right in front of the viewer when other docs would never broadcast the opposing arguments.
One of the best birthday gifts I ever got was when Janis gave me the Beastie Boys Licensed to Ill album when I was about 13. Thoroughly memorized and never forgotten
Please start posting longer vids more often! I can’t get enough ! So glad y’all are doing this again. Hope we get some long turkey cleaning/cooking vids too!
So many turkeys in the Adirondacks. In the bird feeder. We use a Turkey call to communicate during deer season and they follow us around all day. To bad Turkey season is in the best brook trout fishing time
janis said in a podcast once regarding turkeys, "god bless 2 year olds" and that stuck with me. I called a 2 year old across a giant field, across a semi busy street, through a hedge row and into my lap last year. When I got my hands on the bird and saw the spur and beard length, that was the first thing that crossed my mind. "God bless 2 year olds"
Did anyone notice how at 4:05 he said it's May 4th? Jani, you guys got this time travel thing figured out? No wonder you're able to take advantage of so many different states' hunting seasons. Haha - Keep up the good work!
What a great example of conservation and the development of Turkey populations. I wonder if they can ever be established in Alaska? Winters may be to hard and too many predators though. Keep up the great work!
Yea I'm pretty sure the winters would be to tough plus the fact that people are completely against introducing new species to new areas and rightfully so
This is gonna be my first season. We got so many dang birds out here. This summer driving around I nearly hit a whole bunch of them right in middle of the highway on a blind corner lol. can't wait to try this out.
Thatta boy Pooter!! Great hunt and congrats, gonna give it the ol’ college try this spring in CA. You guys make it looks too easy, no matter what little obstacles you run into.
I was gonna say that I wouldn't judge someone for that if that's the relationship they have with their dad. I still liked the comment tho bc that shit is funny.
Congrat on your first Michigan bird man! Are you going for number 2 this spring? I can’t wait for opening day later this month here in northern Michigan!
Nice hunt. I killed one of my first few turkeys in an environment just like that except I was in South Carolina. I was just sitting on the edge of an old road next to a field that bottlenecked where I was at. It was my first time on the property but it looked like a good place to sit. It was a warm afternoon and I began to call fairly lightly. About an hour passed and by then my ass was numb, but a tom snuck up over my right shoulder in the field I mentioned before without making any noise. He was about 25 yds and I rolled him. That was my first turkey that I had killed by myself and I was only fifteen. Lol good times.
Killed a similar sized bird the other day. My first gobbler in 3 seasons of trying. Bush whacked him walking the outskirts of a clearing at about 30 yards. Couldn't care less if he wasn't gobbling and strutting. I was happy as a clam.
I'm sorry, but this is hard to watch when you live in southern Maine and you can literally walk out your back door every day and shoot five turkeys. 😂😂😂
Gonna figure this meateater cast out one of these days. I just saw him hunt and fish with female employees and friends. Mahalo and Aloha from the Big Isle "🤙"
What? Are you alright? If you’re saying this is unbelievable, you’re an idiot. I literally killed my Tom last year in almost the exact same way. Why don’t you find something better to do? It’s awful hard to take any stock in what you’re saying when you formulate a “sentence” that’s punctuated worse than a fourth grader.
These short-form videos are just as high quality as the podcast, books, tv series, and documentary! Please keep'm coming!

Congrats Janis! You gotta love Michigan Turkey hunting my favorite thing to do!😀🦃.... I'm about three weeks away, and it's on like Donkey Kong 😉
April 25th opening day here in Ontario
Anybody notice he and Steve have the same style of talking
Just thinking the same thing
I noticed the same thing, probably an inside joke, where he imitates Steve...however mid-vid Janis resumed his own self :)
Well yeah, they're both from Michigan
They both sound like Michiganders who moved to the northern Rocky Mountain states.
they do spend a bit of time together.
Never against a good bushwhack!
Great video and nice bird!

I don’t think Alaska was EVER part of their native range so imma say hard no.
The latvian eagle swooping down on a gobbler

Hunter: "Whoop whoop whoooop!"
Turkey: "Hype hype hype! 🤘"
My favorite show next to river monster and chasing monsters
Very cool video! Thanks for sharing.
Yanis, go get your bird!!
That was an awesome story!
At about 1:13 look down the path on the right and you will see a deer jump into the woods, white tail high up.
I saw that too but couldn't quite make out what it was.
This is gonna be my first season. We got so many dang birds out here. This summer driving around I nearly hit a whole bunch of them right in middle of the highway on a blind corner lol. can't wait to try this out.

Best show ever!
Just shot our first free range turkeys in New Zealand with a bow. Great fun!
Beautiful bird and great reaction to get the shot off
Whoever disliked this video kisses their dad on the lips.
I was gonna say that I wouldn't judge someone for that if that's the relationship they have with their dad. I still liked the comment tho bc that shit is funny.
Sam Dixon , everyone who says “Roll Tide” gets kissed on the mouth by their daddy..........and probably their Uncle......just sayin’
It was Tom Brady’s son?
Sam Dixon ha ha ha ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If you think he’ll be there in 5 minutes. Just give it 10 LOL
Every Turkey hunting video should be sponsored by WhizBang
Southern Indiana turkey hunting: challenging yet rewarding.

Riva King lol I’m in the same boat the suspense is killing me
Congrat on your first Michigan bird man! Are you going for number 2 this spring? I can’t wait for opening day later this month here in northern Michigan!
As a fellow ex-Michigander I say.....congratulations!
JANI!
Can we get Janis his own show?!?
Awesome 👍
Love this!

I see your box call in your pocket at 8:08. Do you have a specific holder/holster you use?
Make a video on how to make turkey nuggets!
We got one. :-) Check out the Bone Maniacs video here. ua-cam.com/video/AwjPkaocmAU/v-deo.html
That’s what I’m talking about!
The Latvian Lover gettin' it done
Suns out guns out. I believe I’ve heard that somewhere?
Cool!!!

Great video. I love your videos and podcast.
#hardcorehunting
Come to Wayland MI and sit under my song bird feeders with me.
"They're not super sharp and not super curved yet"...they are as long, sharp, and curved as they are ever gonna get!
What type of wrap are you using on your OU barrel?
ok - you guys aren't making it any easier. 20 days until NH season starts!
Meateater should change things up a bit and have full episodes of the show in which Janis is the host then maybe a few with Cal as the host.
Nah they're good co-hosts but Steve has all the charisma.
Jani what shotgun and chokes we're you using?
I'm sorry, but this is hard to watch when you live in southern Maine and you can literally walk out your back door every day and shoot five turkeys. 😂😂😂
That would make for a very boring TV show.
That would be like shooting one your neighbors!Try gettin away from the couch go someplace and try some calling to get them to come to you!
Thats a beautiful side by side
That's an over under.
@@jimlacefield7176 looks like he used. 2 different guns, bc I just watched it back and saw both
I'd be looking for morels 🍄 lol 5 to 8 lbs of turkey meat or 20 lbs of morels? That is the question
What shotgun is that?
Wheres steve....
Gonna figure this meateater cast out one of these days. I just saw him hunt and fish with female employees and friends. Mahalo and Aloha from the Big Isle "🤙"
Ayo Go Green😇
What happen to steven renella
I didn't know eagles hunted turkey
Y’all really need to learn how to turkey hunt lol
Dear lord Ole Son you need to work on that owl hoot.
Does hitting body ruin the meat?
Why are you hunting turkeys with an over under?
He just shot into the woods and they put a dead turkey in the road. This shit sucked
BLOUCH!
Steve stop writing Janis's dialogue. You guys have your own personalities.
Smh cant imagine why none gobbled at that hoot or crow call ...this dude mercy horrible
when turkey hunting if you think you should do something don't do it he was lucky that bird was in range
fake.... staged. he shot a dead turkey.
This is so foney .what did he shoot it with a 270 .city slicker .
