Turkey Hunting Texas-Style with Jesse Griffiths

- Опубліковано 27 вер 2024
- Tyler and K.C. meet up with their good friend and fellow Texan, Jesse Griffiths, to chase Rio Grande turkeys in the Texas Hill Country. The landscape is striking, the bluebonnets are in bloom, and the long beards are in full strut. Jesse has a special recipe he wants to share with us, so the goal is to get a bird down ASAP so we can share a special meal with a TexMex flair. However, finding turkeys and getting one in the bag are two very different things. Presented by @onXHunt

The way boys had first bite of taco and their face lit up . Delicious recipe by great chef
I used to work at Albertsons in Springfield oregon right out of high-school. One time they were throwing out some pineapples 🍍 because of a few soft spots. I took a few because why not and took them out to my truck on my lunch break and broke them open on the edge of my tailgate and ate away. Best damn pineapples I've ever had (I lived in Hawaii for two years)
as a newbie who didnt get to go out to much this season but missed a jake then spooked a tom and another jake, it hurts to watch this. but good stuff never the less boys. Jessies always awesome to watch.. 🤣
Bluebonnets are awesome! Reminds me of Austin, Tx! Hook ‘em!
Crazy how they gang up on the decoy
Reminds me of humans in a way
"Killed him on the gobble!" 😂
Love these catch clean, and cooks!! Jesse rocks!!
Love everything about this episode. Fantastic stuff. 🔥
Great exciting hunt, those Rio's look fun!
Those jakes can make it tough to get on a big turkey when they are like that.
I think I've finally given up on turkey hunting. Tried for 3 years now and have never even seen a gobbler, or hardly anything at all on public for that matter. I've never even heard a gobble. Drew a tag with 3 points this year and it was the biggest joke. It is apparently just a way to get people to burn up points. Maybe it's just that Colorado absolutely sucks for turkey? I don't know. It's probably just me.
Try wild turkey mole next time.
Dude that looks so good
Those El Pastor looked delicious!
Love these videos
6:55 I dont think ive ever seen something more american in my life than that
The fucking headshot on that turkey jesus LOL
Awesome
Haven't had a chance to hunt this spring but hit a damn turkey with the car this morning on the way to a soccer tournament. Sadly, not much left for the grill..
Sad its not Gould's turkeys
use the like on this comment to show love for the Element Wild boys on MeatEater!!!!
What's the best Meateater recipe for turkeys??
@@lukea2806 they are the video lol
Schnitzel for the breasts and stock with the rest. Maybe a braise on the legs of meaty enough.
And how do you cook the legs and thighs??
Love the element videos !
Rios are the superior turkey.
they just love talkin and come in so hot, so much fun
Agreed
Eastern overrated?
@@TheElementWildlist goes as follows:
1 Rio Grande, 2 Merriam’s, 3 Eastern, 4 Osceola
@@kalebsmith2155Have to disagree list goes as follows:
1. Any turkey that comes into shooting range when you got a tag
2. The rest
Gooblegooble
Yelpyelp
They are Rios... they sound Gordo!Gordo! Gordo! Gordo!
@@fgonzalez1994😂😂😂
I am confused because Rio Grande is the border to Mexico. They are in Hill Country that is no where close to it. Is it the turkeys that are typically from Rio Grande? or just a mistake in the splash screen for the video.
Rio grande is the subspecies of turkey they’re hunting
@@joshmahon1 thanks
I doubt that second one was a tom
Coulda got a 3'fer but didn't even get a 2'fer!
Dang! Watch it @ 6:56 on .25 speed and watch that guy loose his head!
That chef is awesome, that said, those 2 are the people you never want to hunt with. Scary, yet really dumb.
Ive never seen somebody kick a turkey when they walked up to it
And to think, Benjamin Franklin Wanted This To Be The National Bird 🔔
Out of the 3 birds (lifetime experience) you shot the little young one. 🤔
dude for real, all those guys videos are badly done compare to normal meateater video, weird cut for no reason and plan, the noise is badly done and annoying the tune is bad, the editing is not really great, each time i see one of theirs videos my expectations are very low, always disappointed
You shouldn’t ever lean a gun up against a fence , my friends brother did it, the gun fell over and went off into his lower leg, 6 operations later with skin graphs and his leg is shorter than the other, limps really bad and will never play sports again
The head-shot mid-gobble was just... that's exactly what I'd expect lol
Chef Jesse never disappoints!
"If people knew wild food could taste this good, everyone would hunt."
Shoot, then don't tell em. We don't need more crowding in the turkey woods. 🤫🤐😜
Seriously though, I have two toms from this season in the freezer. I'm definitely adding this al pastor recipe to my list of preperations to try, hopefully with more of Jesse's recipes from The Turkey Book after Father's Day! Nothing better than a wild game tacos.
Crazy how different subspecies sound so different!
Letsss go 2nd
Lets gooo!
This video is so random, who are the new guys? Didn’t hear any cometary from them about the hunt. The video needed some background commentary during the hunting scenes
Great episode. Not much yapping, just how I like it.
Why wait to shoot. Was it a line of sight thing and didn't want to hit the other two?
Damn I'm hungry
Just before 12 minutes into the video.. can you use the same method of removing membranes from turkeys like shown, the same way for some deer meat? That looks easy. Something about removing the silver stuff
I also turn down the volume when you're hunting.. something might be wrong with me hahab
I do not understand why they attack the decoy but do not fight among themselves….
Good friends, good hunting, good food.
i gotta get my hands on that patch he had on his backpack!!
