    OooooOOO the ASP has double locking. Excellent feature. I think every modern handcuff should think about having double locking.

      I agree with you I think they should come standard on all new sets

      Every standard handcuff model on the market has double-locking. Honestly, if the creator doesn't know that, then this review is misinformed. S&W (both standard and M&P Line), Peerless, ASP, Hiatt, Chicago, etc. ALL come equipped to be double locked. These S&W have a slide bar that is even visible in the video, if the creator had a clue how to use.
      Honestly, this entire review needs taken down because this creator is just not knowledgeable in the very basics of how to use these pieces of equipment.

      @@taylorfleming2452 lol. There are a few very rare examples of ones without a double lock. I can think of the French ones. They have one with no double lock, one with a push button double lock and one like the TCH HSH1 which has a separate wafer key to interact with the double lock for high security. But the vast amount of modern handcuffs do indeed have double locking. Apparently my drunken sarcasm wasn't pick up on by the video creator lol.

      To be fair, nightshift got the better of me and I missed the sarcasm too. Can’t say I know anyone with and credibility going out of their way to use French handcuffs for duty. I mainly took issue with acting double locking is some unique feature, when it’s literally policy in almost every department to utilize it.

    Only problem with the ASP cuffs and why LE, jails and prisons don’t use them as much anymore. The locks break easily. Plus they’re plastic more so. Which is why they have the warranties.
    However, they’re perfect for the double side but at same time, especially working security. It’s not worth the risk of having the locks break.
    Good video.

      @SecurityZone1  Рік тому +1

      Thanks man I appreciate the comment another thing about them is they are really easy to pick at and like you said break easier I switch to them only because they were bigger in size more bulkier but a lot lighter than the traditional steel handcuffs but it makes a lot of sense why LE would switch to a different type.... Even though I have the model 450s ultra aluminum I actually like the model 100 ASP better... But honestly you can't go wrong with a set of Smith & Wesson's or some peerless thanks for watching man..👍

    I use Smith and Wesson MNP lever locks, and a pair of peerless 701c cuffs on my duty belt. I use the lever locks if someone is fighting me, while I would use peerless if I could talk someone I to cuffs after a people crime.
    I think the biggest con to ASP is the price

    Pro of ASP cuffs are: locks on both sides, lifetime warranty, locks are upgradeable, larger diameter, yes you do pay for the quality, but having locks on both sides as well as the lifetime warranty, i agree on buying S&W on a budget but after…save your money and get quality and durability

    • @SecurityZone1
      @SecurityZone1  Рік тому +1

      Yeah I love the fact that the key hole is accessible from both sides very convenient especially when your in the heart pounding moment and just really hope things go the right way lol yeah they are pretty expensive but ever since I made the switch to ASP I can't carry anything else to heavy and not as professionally detailed as the ASP cuffs are

    • @tigga1723
      @tigga1723 Рік тому +1

      @@SecurityZone1 I might be a little biased. I am a handcuff instructor and having the ability to have access to either side, knowing you always have lock access from the top is important, I do agree that other cuffs are more affordable when you’re on a budget though. I have a set of peerless and S&W i let my team use when they aren’t able to afford cuffs right away..but as soon as they get a chance I advise them to purchase ASP. Yes the ultras are lighter, but if you are concerned about color identification, ASP is the way to go. The ultras are super light and the newer ones with an external double lock are very good. They take a little getting used to since the double lock is on the outside and you have to be careful not to lock them accidentally when putting them on, but other than that…the lifetime replacement is great

    All modern handcuffs have a double lock feature even cheap no name ones have it as well . Double lock was invented in 1912 by peerless and all cuffs since then has had double lock so that's nothing new.
