In my thoughts, I think mihoyo will not change this design feature to their ruin guards because of some references can be related to Legend of Zelda breath of the wild, the Guardians I may say, but I like the laser version of it, but though mihoyo had their decision to change it no offense :)
Well, there are way too many mechanical doll that shot laser from it's eye in anime/fantasy game, so they probably change it to something fresh. And then they use it on ruin graders lol.
The laser looks easier to dodge anyway.. the homing missile however can be a pain sometimes.. And another reason for the change might be to synchronize it with the Field Tiller lore in Dainsleif quest..
I prefer the fireballs/missiles. It looks better and it gives you more of a reason not to run too far away from them. Plus we don't need to give the those who constantly call Genshin a BotW rip off more reasons to call Genshin such a thing.
Ruin Guard feels like a perfect machine to replicate a titan from Titanfall (the laser beam from the eyes makes this thing remind me of Ion) Just make it pilotable from the inside, give it an oversized gun, and here ya go!
? I stopped playing for more than a year and just got back, but I was there from day 1. I could've sworn they did both back then. They would launch missiles, shoot lasers, spin, and jump. I have noticed that now a day, a ruin guard won't shoot lasers unless it's a specific type but seeing this makes me want to revisit old recordings just to make sure
Yeah the old attack looks very similar to the BOTW guardians but they're one of my favourite enemies from that game I kinda wish ruin guards shared the same still
The original definitely took too much from BOTW's lazer beam, but consider most characters don't have a reflect mechanic it is probably abandoned due to this reason.
Ruin Guards back then were scary af. Btw mind if pin? Ily
Compare this laser with the Grader laser though. At least the latter keeps you moving more.
@@v.emiltheii-nd.8094 good idea, the Ruin Guards these days just shoots missile that follows you same with the laser of the Ruin Graders

Ruin guard and that fatui electro hammer is my worst enemy back then when I start playing.
This is for avoid rumors of plagiarizing The Legend of Zelda
The original lasers shot by the ruin guard looked way too similar to the guardian lasers in botw so i think thats why it was changed
They brought it back for the Graders anyway, in some form.

i like both. be nice if they could shoot lasers from their eyes in 3.0. never got to fight the old version of Ruin Guards.
Actually you can fight them as Ruin Graders. That’s why the creators changed it.
and imo dodging that would have been pretty easy rather than the missiles now
I wish the spinning attack of the ruin guards/graders were replaced with other, more interactive, attack patterns
@@uncledangerous742 true, lazers are much more easier to dodge than the missiles.
@@NMG.11 God, those attacks are so annoying.
in my theory is that they thought that the old ruin guardian's attack might look like the botw guardian's laser attack so they changed it to missile

Love the perfect cut at the end🗿👍
That punch tho...😂
Ruin Guard: "I'M A' FIRIN' MAH LAZER!!"
Beidou embracing her inner Darkness: "MY BODY IS READY!!"
Everybody gangsta until an ominous piano melody starts going crazy

Old: I SEE NO GOD UP HERE, OTHER THAN ME !
They can just make both of them work, it will be awesome to fight that

the laser just makes sense
the old version was soo cool the way they just laser beam you
i miss how scary ruin guards was when i first started
those look more deadly, imagine you accidentally woke up one and decided to ignore it then a laser just strikes you from the distance LOL
At the end of video, top 10 moment before disaster.
I did not notice the laser was remoced and somehow that made me miss it XD
The old one makes me remember those Sentinels from X-Men.
The old one looks like the bullet prediction trajectory on sword art online
