Everyone: Trying to avoid pirates at all costs, sending out SOS signals in case they spot dubious ships and pretty much worried all the time in these waters.
Ross Kemp: The pirates came from this island right here, so we'll fly to Singapore, take a boat south and hope we meet them.

A landmass or water way existing there doesn't mean people of the past got it right on maps.
Look at old maps of the world, they look way off. There's no way of getting a bird's eye view and knowing where each geographic location is relative to each other.
People back then have no way of reliably measuring long distances. Information also traveled slowly and not particularly far, so while some may know the geography there, those making the map do not.

It's funny that these guys can retake a pirated shit while the Brits in the first part of the documentary can just watch them sail off with all of that equipment...

Talk about badasses because the anti piracy team approached and boarded without any body armor. It takes a badass to do that. Even if they only have machetes.

6:06 heyy, unlike the UK they actually retake the ships from pirates, nice. (I understand the risk and why the UK don't do it though. Crew could be killed, and troops could be killed just as easily)

So sad to have no hope for a career aspiration other than piracy for your son. This sobered me up real quick. I don't have THESE kinds of problems....yet. 😔😣

u know watching all these ross kemp documentaries.....i just realised just how much violence and death and pollution and suffering is exported to third world and developing countries......in our pursuit of economic growth and prosperity.......middle east.....africa......asia and south america......
we like to believe we live in a civilised world where theres a system somewhat and things are settled diplomatically.....in our cocoons of safety while all these death and destruction is just stories happening thousands of miles away....... but the truth is its a mad max world out there
