+Jake O' Driscoll I do civil war reenactments. So basically you go and when there's like a concentration of fire you maybe should fall if no one else falls to make it somewhat realistic. Or your commanding officer will say okay someone die now to get it started.

Depends on the reenactment. If it is of a specific battle, then yeah. Sometimes, though, they predetermine the winner, then let them reach the conclusion however they like
I read on a re-enactment site that its sportmanship. If you see someone firing near you, you can be a good sport and drop to the ground, or in one of Jhouse's videos someone musket didnt work so he 'died" too
Your choice to go down.. If there is 10 people firing at your reg maybe 6 go down if there is one fine maybe none or your CO/NCO will tell you to go down the next volley fired at you
I use the GOPRO Hero 3+ and I use a clip mount and station it on my cartridge belt. Chest mounts ruin the impression so I go more discrete and wrap it with cloth as well to hide the camera.
+JHouse171 (Son of Liberty) Where exactly on the belt do you position it so that it faces forward when at the present? I have been experimenting with videos as well, though I want to get a better camera, and haven't been able to get it in a good enough spot to face forward instead of being obscured by the gun when I fire. Though I may just have it too low or too high, so it is buried when I am firing...
@@vile2087 there isn't any bullets or anything fired. It is just powder loaded in and not the ball itself. I think they decide when it is right or most accurate to die

Normally a regiment has one or two tailors who custom make the coats. You can't get them made en masse like in Civil War reenacting. Most of the other equipment can be purchased from sutlers either at a reenactment or online, from people like JAS Townsend and Son, the Quartermaster General, or Smoke and Fire. If you're interested in joining up with a regiment, you should head to a local event and just start talking to people-we are usually desperate for recruits!

Well one reason that i know of is that they sometimes might forget about the ram rod and spear someone with it... The second is they aren't loading any real shot only the powder
thomas szczepanski I don't know why but if you compact the shot sometimes not all of it is shot and then the powder fires out as little fragments or little rock like things its hard to explain but they shoot out and hurt people or maybe even kill them
i am part of a re-enactment group that uses muskets. we don't put the projectile in but we still use the ram rod because gun powder in the world of explosives is slow, so if you compact it in with ram rod...it works so much better.
