  • Here's the Mega-Size 1/48 scale Zaku II! This thing is going to be gigantic! Bandai didn't make a lot of Mega-Size kits but this one looks great! Can't wait to finally get started on this project!

    Got this last year as a birthday present. It's the most eyecatching piece of my collection. Great kit!

    The reason for all the detailed instructions is that this kit is aimed at for beginners. I painted mine white with black shadow areas this was my first painted kit.

    I have this same kit.. would be nice to know how to go about putting the cannons in the head for the alternate version shown in dengeki. I’ve looked all over the internet and haven’t been able to find anything not even a resin conversion.

    Dude, you're crazy. You're gonna review a 1/48 Scale kit. God I can't wait to see how big this thing will be xD

    The instruction is design for big kids, the design looks like LBX series instruction, full color, parts icon on the runners, also not using numbers to instruct the way to build, but using words/Icons, etc.

    I think Sammy D has all those decals in vector form, so he should be able with a click of a button scale any decal to 1/48 scale without loosing any detail...

      Yeah I emailed him about a different set of Zaku decals I wanted him to upscale for me.

    Char's Zaku is an S type Zaku, this one is an F type Zaku. basically the main differences between them are the head, backpack, and legs.

    I was thinking of getting a 1/48 Zaku II but then I realized I didn't know where I would put it once I was done with the kit. >w

    Query: What exactly is a parts separator for? Breaking parts off the runners (as I seem to infer from that particular picture)?

    • @Astronopolis
      @Astronopolis 8 років тому

      Md. Rafiuzzaman Bokhari separating parts you've assembled. Just in case you want to pull it apart without damaging the pieces

    • @M.R.B.
      @M.R.B. 8 років тому

      Astronopolis I thought as much initially, so when I got one with my PG LED kit that is exactly what I intended to use it for. The flat wider end can help you do just that once you've pried apart the edges initially with something else, but what about the curved end? I have yet to see a tutorial on using them myself. :-(

    • @Astronopolis
      @Astronopolis 8 років тому

      maybe its for popping them off the runner? i dont know why anyone would do that though. the image in the instructions seems to indicate that though oddly enough

      I know right?! I would think trying that would damage the plastic badly, hence my query. :-S

    The section on 4:26 (point 6) basically says the building instruction is in full color, just follow the icon that they provided to help you get the parts you need.
    As you know the mega size line are aim for the new comers, so bandai make everything easy for them to assemble. But for me it's kinda odd, even beginners will recognize those giant pieces unless there're stupid.
    And, who the hell will pay 7800 yen for this? I mean, new comers won't pay that much for something that big and expensive unless they're rich enough. They probably go for a SD or a HG kits which is way cheaper and much more option to choose. I think that's why bandai stop making more 1/48 kits......which is a shame, I would like to see a 1/48 Age-3.

    Customize the hell out of this kit I hope. Damn, all those seam lines, and the ones on the power cables are going to be a bitch.
    Look forward to seeing what you do with this one, a WIP would be nice for a change, you haven't done one in like forever. On the front of the box right at the top there is a long line of mm and a #385 showing you how big the kit is if you tilt the box on it's side, thought you would have caught that, your fingers were right there touching it. And yeah, more decals are going to be needed. Good luck, order some more paint.

    Ah, yes...the quasi-poor man's PG......kinda (I say that because the thing is like 100+ dollars ATM while char's is 78).
    Now if they made a mega version of the Sazabi or the Psycho Zaku ver ka as a practical joke...
