Riakporhe ducked the opetaia fight thinking he could get an easy world title belt by beating a guy he already beat, but it backfired on him and I'm glad
@@thetruesquad5059 not in his opinion though, all he needed was a close fight and he would have gotten the decision, sky was hoping to have him become world champion as he is more marketable, an undefeated fighter with knockout power
Refs need to start deducting points for all this holding arms or holding both ropes whilst leaning all over your opponent.Okolie is just as bad if not worse.
No need for the full fight. The highlights were enough to see of that hugfest. Okolie & Riakporhe I genuinely believe would be the worst fight to watch right now.
Shush ,its a fight ..Its clinching ..lets see u in there without clinch..Only probz with clinching is if its excessive without mucg exchanges but we got plenty of exchanges so stop sissy armchair compmplaining.
Riakhpore seemed to want to impersonate Okolie in there. It didnt work for Okolie so not sure why he fought like that. Billam Smith is strong, durable, has decent power and a great work rate. I think Opetaia has too much for him, but he beats Jack and Ramirez for me.
Riakporhe was embarrassing. Just completely froze. Feel bad for the guy really that he was found out so badly on a stage like that. The scorecards are proof positive that judging in this sport needs a complete overhaul. They need to be able to justify the cards or be stood down from the sport, because to me it's clear what happened here - early on they gave everything to Riakporhe to build a buffer to give him the decision, but then realised in the mid rounds it was so one-sided that they couldn't rig it, so they started scoring it to CBS.
I doubt that mate, it's just they aren't very good at scoring actual shots. Like CBS says, his work gets unnoticed (small inside shots) whereas Riakporhe's shots are easier to see. It's poor judging. Same in the Benavidez fight, they gave him a wide decision when he only just beat Gvozdyk really.
1000 percent agree. If you can provide any scorecard without justification then there'll always be corruption in the sport, even if it's to help build the story of a fighter. Judges should to explain themselves.
Riak Poor, he was channeling Lawrence Okolie in there, not a great fight to watch but an easy fight for CBS, 2 of those judges should be ashamed with those cards, right man won though, let these guys with the belts enjoy them whilst they can before Opetia takes them all.
I don’t think riakporhe prepared for the fight right and I also don’t think it was that one sided. I think the judges got it right but I do think riskporhe damaged him more than Chris damaged him.I felt liked he landed more power punches that’s why I feel like the judges scored the way they did. but he is not that agile Chris be getting to close to him which makes him hold and he don’t know how to fight at his distance
Smith kept to the game plan and won easily. Riakporhe might be better at a higher weight, his energy and workrate is so low. The judges scoring was terrible, the gap was much bigger.
1st 2rds in an CBS is being smart attacking up close the straight after initiating the clinch then releases to attack then looks at the ref to make out RR was the one holding.
Billam Smith reminds me of Oscar Bonavena. From the solid plain black shorts, to the way he boxes and his physical.strenghth in the ring. He's not as powerful as Oscar and he doesn't have that wildness and punching power, but he is seriously tough like the Argentinian icon was.
Congratulations due to Billam 👏. Everyone was against him (general public not from Bournemouth) in the Lawrence and Richard fight tonight, yet her came through both pretty much unscathed. Big props to Shane as there can be no doubt since training Billam he is now a completely different fighter and proves what a good coach does.
The judges were against him in both fights, had he not won them so decisively, they would certainly of robbed him. Bear in mind he knocked Okolie down 3 times and Okolie had 2 points deducted and one judge still managed to score it a draw. Here the score cards reflected a 7.5 or 8.4 win for Chris when in reality he arguably won 11 rounds, 10 at the least.
So Richard, who have you been sparring in preparation for the CBS fight? Lawrence Okolie. Really? And why is that? I really like his counter left arm grab and his counter right hug. If I can fight in the same manner, I've no doubt I will win by stoppage; meaning CBS will fall asleep and I'll win by TKO.
I think Smith is great, one of those fighters that is just greater than the sum of his parts and this win will make him even better. I bet he is brilliant to train.
As a cruiser weight battle for the belt gotta say it was not enjoyable at all yeah BIllam Smith got it in the end but from a very weak fight from Riakporhe. I expected a bigger and tougher fight from Richard but he literally kept hugging throughout the fight. He showed moments where he was gonna bring a fight to Smith in rounds 7 and 8 but nothing came of it. Billam deserved to win and it only was going to be on points. The cruiser weight has a different belt holder for each sanctioning body. As things are with all the fights happening and being unified this division needs a unified champion.
I think CBS would beat Gilberto Ramirez to be honest. Jai Opetaia is good but it's a winnable fight for CBS. They show the best "clips" of Opetaia on You Tube but he has vulnerabilities too and can be tagged. Would be a good fight.
@@peternagy-im4be @peternagy-im4be I agree Shane is a great trainer and at the end of the day he's got a world title... But CBS hasn't impressed me and I think if he steps up as he's performing right now, I think he'll lose. I like him but he needs to be a lot better to beat the top guys in the division.... I hope he can adapt his game 🤞
Shame- this was a chance for Riakpore to get some major fans via the Crystal Palace fans attending......he needs a new trainer- he needs to mix it up a little- be a bit more offensive, he needs Andy Lee is his trainer or Ben Davison, Tony Sims or Robert Garcia(in the U.S.).
I knew Chris was gonna win as soon as I saw Shane McGuigan in his corner. Riakporhe thought he was gonna win because he had Joshua's & Dillian's people backing him up😂
A boxer with height, long reach, could not throw punches. RICHARD was a complete disaster in this fight. None of these two fighters can match Anderson in anyway. He resorted to holding. He has a bad Corner. Ajagba might be rustic, he would defeat the two of them.
